Hi! The mobile menu’s X won’t work. I used the full screen overlay but when I click X to close it it’s not clickable.

Also, how can I get media on blog post to show on the list of blog posts?
Website is www.dokko-do.com
Hi,
I see the issue on your site but I can’t recreate it on any of my live demos or local host. Definitely looks like some sort of z-index issue. Did you make any manual tweaks to the theme?
Adding this custom CSS to your site seems to fix it:
body .full-screen-overlay-nav .full-screen-overlay-nav-close { z-index: 1; }
But I honestly can’t see how the issue started to begin with…
- AJ
Hi AJ, As per usual just when I think this theme can’t get any better you add something that ups the game yet again – thank you so much
A quick question. I have just updated our sites to 4.7 but when I go to update WP Bakery I get this message across all sites. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
Any ideas on how I can run the update? Thanks and hope you’re enjoying your summer
All the best Alex
Hi Alex,
Usually this is a server related issue or security plugin related error. Not being able to access the plugin from your site via the dashboard or not being able to extract the plugin and then install it due to a memory limit or user permissions.
If you go to your-site.com/wp-content/themes/Total/plugins/js_composer.zip it should download if you need to upload it manually (delete the old plugin version and install the new one). Or replace the files via SFTP.
If you can’t access it here, then the file permissions on the server aren’t being set correctly. You can always re-download the theme here on ThemeForest via your “downloads”, extract and then locate the plugin. Or try contacting your webhost to see if they can assist, unfortunately from my experience most web hosting company support staff won’t assist with installation issues even if it is server related (they just aren’t trained well enough to be able to help).

Just a quick shout-out to AJ. Thank you for continued development on Total. I am utterly happy with the all the work and support you put into the Total Wordpress theme. It makes Wordpress total ::D Have a great summer!
Hey, thanks for stopping by
If you have any ideas for future suggestions or come across any new bugs/issues let me know!

Have a great summer as well
Is it still necessary to activate AMP framework since your theme is responsive?
Hi,
AMP is primarily for News/Magazine style sites, it’s only “necessary” if you are submitting your site to be added to Google News. What it does is it removes pretty much everything on the page except text and images to help speed things up at the cost of design. If you have a good server and/or your site is primarily a business/portfolio type website generally you wouldn’t add it.

There is an update today. How can we find out which changes/enhancements are made in this update?
The changelog can always be found here: http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/changelog/
If you have any questions or issues let me know.

Hi for some reason setting up the under construction page isn’t working. I have just selected it as the home page for now: https://greenbeantoys.digitaldamecollective.com The page however is not showing up in the drop down list for selecting a under construction page under theme panel, under construction. It did allow me to select initially then the website showed a 500 error. Then when I changed to selecting that page as the primary page of the website it was no longer available. I can send site access to check via email if you want. thanks
This is what I currently see on the site – https://cl.ly/sYkB – is that not correct?
- AJ
Yes that is the under construction page, but it was only showing that because I set homepage to that since it was not working. Now the site is being worked on and we have an actual homepage. I am able to select the under construction page I created in under construction section, however when I navigate to the website it is not showing, I see the actual website. Can I email or slack you access to double check?
Just double checked it today. Maybe it was caching yesterday, seems to be working now.

Why doesn’t the updated version identify what version it is? Where is this info?
Hi.
I’m not sure what you mean by “Why doesn’t the updated version identify what version it is”?
If you want to check your theme version you can do so like this: https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/locate-current-theme-version/
And to view the changes in the last version the changelog is always online here: http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/changelog/
If you aren’t sure how to update please see here: http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs-category/updates/
If you have any issues or questions let me know.

Here’s the situation: I get a notice by email saying that there is an upgrade to the theme and that I should go and download it. I have made other updates on my site recently and don’t know if I have already gotten the notice on my site and have done it. (It usually shows up there but I notice some designers stop offering this and require upgrading via ftp) So I check my site and then I go to see what version you are suggesting to upgrade to and cannot find the version number on the themeforest/total info from downloads.
Hi,
So to update via the WordPress dashboard you simply need to log in and go to Theme Panel > Theme License and activate your theme license. Once active you will receive not only the email from Envato but also the notice in WordPress so you can update via there.
Updates in WordPress never happen automatically you always have to manually click the update button so if you have your license active and don’t see any notice to update then you already updated the theme or your site is cached and you need to log out and back in to see the update notice.
If you aren’t sure if your site is up to date all you have to do is compare the version on yours site – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/locate-current-theme-version/ – with the version number on the changelog – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/changelog/ – as you can see the current version i 4.7
Make sense now?

Hi AJ
You asked if I am trying to copy content into the support form on your support website. I am not. I am logging in and clicking on the ‘submit request’ button. Nothing happens (I still see the dashboard). I can open the other pages, but when I click on ‘submit request’ from them nothing happens and I still see that page.
I have tried using Chrome on my desktop, laptop and iPad. And using firefox on my desktop.
So the page itself – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/support/submit-request/ – is not loading?
You don’t even see the form? https://cl.ly/sX4C
There has been 19 more tickets submitted since your first comment earlier so it seems very weird that you can’t access the page. Does clearing your browser cache help at all? Do you see any warnings or does the page just say loading but never loads?
- AJ
Hi AJ. Fixed the problem with logging into the support system. But the ‘submit request’ button no longer works. As you know I normally need a conversation to fix my issues and would much prefer to use your help scout system, than the comments. m
Hi,
Are you trying to paste some sort of code into the form? Like html/php/or javascript? – if so, that will cause Gravity Forms to not submit the form for security reasons, instead use a 3rd party service like Gist and send the link. We’ve received many tickets in the last couple days and today without any issues and I double checked and I don’t see any problems either.

hi WP Explorer, loving your Total theme! Running into some issues with the sticky navigation when set to shrink. It shrinks when one scrolls down however when one scrolls back to the top of the page it does not snap back to the original height (ie the height it was when nav was not sticky). It stays the height it was when sticky. Please investigate this issue. Thanks!
Great, I’m glad you like it!
This bug is actually an animation issue with the shrink animation and scrolling quickly. I added a fix for Total 4.7 which should be available later today – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/upcoming-update-changelog/
If you want you can test this live demo – http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/base/ – which I already updated with the fix and see if you still see it. I don’t – http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/base/
Sorry for the troubles! Make sure you entered your purchase license to be notified when the update is ready – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/upcoming-update-changelog/
- AJ
Thanks AJ, is this version 4.7 live on themeforest yet?
Yes, version 4.7 has been available since June 26. If you have any issues updating let me know – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs-category/updates/

Hi AJ! On Row Settings, how can I hide an entire row. Is see the visibility, but it looks like you can only hide on a tablet or a computer not all. I just want to publish my site now and I’ll edit it down the road. Thanks!
Hi
You can use this button – https://cl.ly/sWqM
But also you can hide your whole site from any non-logged in users like this – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/under-construction-or-coming-soon-page/

for Woocommerce. After installing I started to experience this error Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in C:\xampp\htdocs\[My Site]\wp-includes\post-template.php on line 284
When trying to filter a product on two product attributes. The plugin has adoptive filtering which changes as each filter applied. I can get round the issue by applying a live update as each filter is selected. I contacted the author who says it’s a theme issue. I’m up to do date with Total but notice a few woocommerce template updates require an update.
Apologies if nothing to do with you but any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.
Cheers
Jon
Hi Jon,
This count() error is most likely an error coming from PHP 7.2 as they made some changes that affects the count() function. This isn’t an “error” per-se but more of a warning which can be hidden setting WP_Debug to false on your server – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/enabling-wp-debug/
The error shouldn’t be coming from the theme if it’s all up to date or from WooCommerce. I don’t have any errors when using the theme or WooCommerce locally or on the live sites.
Also since the error started happening after installing the plugin most likely it comes from the plugin. Do you see if if you try a different theme like the default twenty 17 theme?
I don’t understand what you mean by “I can get round the issue by applying a live update as each filter is selected.”
- AJ
Hi AJ – Good point however I changed to Twenty 17 and don’t experience the error when replicating the issue. DEBUG on or off in total has same error. To explain the ‘live update’ fix, the adoptive filtering will reduce the options available to you based on the results of the filter that you have selected. This can be done on-the-fly by updating every time you make a selection or using another setting by hitting a big button to ‘apply filters’ after selections have been made which is when the error occurs. Bit of a head scratcher
Correction – I do still see…intermittently the error but only for a fraction of a second in twenty17 but for the most part it works. Guess it’s back to the plugin developer
Hi,
Hum…I don’t use count() anywhere in the Total theme. And the error you mention is pointing to WordPress core files not even theme files, so it’s very weird.
If you comment this out:
require_once WPEX_FRAMEWORK_DIR . '3rd-party/woocommerce/woo-config.php';
In the Total functions.php do you have the same error? This file loads all the different WooCommerce tweaks for Total.
When using just the theme, recommended plugins and WooCommerce there shouldn’t be any PHP notices. But it is possible that the plugin is creating some sort of conflict with a theme function.
Also, there was a count() warning in the WPBakery page builder when using PHP 7.2 but this was fixed in Total 4.6.5 – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/changelog/ – “FIXED PHP 7.2 WPBakery page builder debug notice (must delete and re-install the plugin if you need this tweak)”.
Because it’s a premium plugin I can’t just test it out locally. If you can renew your support license you can open a private ticket though and zip it over – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/support/ – if you wanted or share logins so I can log into your site and look. I would need WP and FTP logins though.
- AJ
Commenting out the code causes loss of filter plugin functionality and WPBakery already at latest version although deleted and reinstalled. However after deactivating plugins it appears to be a clash wish Yoast SEO Premium….which is annoying….but thanks very much for insight. Sorry to bother.
Oh shoot. We’ll I’m glad you figured it out. I use Yoast Premium as well and hardly ever get a reply when reporting bugs to them. I hope you have better success then me. Let me know if they are able to fix it or not.
Always happy to help, it’s never a bother
- AJ
Hi AJ,
What is the ETA for the next update? I’m looking for updates to WooCommerce template files and WPBakery Page Builder.
Thanks, Achinta
Hi Achinta,
I’m trying to get it done today but if not by Wednesday the latest. The updates for the plugins and WooCommerce are complete I’m just finishing up a few other small things I wanted to add for v 4.7 – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/upcoming-update-changelog/
If you need a hotfix though I can send it over now via a private ticket.
- AJ
Hi AJ,
Thanks for the update. No rush, I can wait for you to release the theme update.
Regards, Achinta
Hello AJ,
I have two questions
1) How can I change the background opacity of the dropdown menu?
2) How can I make the third level child menu items to appear right below the second level parent item instead of displaying them in a new section to right?
Thanks!
Hi,
1. You can do this with a little CSS, but it depends on the dropdown style you are using and your site design, because you can either use opacity which affects the menu background, borders and text or you can use an RGBA bakckground which only affects the actual background of the dropdown.
2. You can force a static position with some CSS like this:
body .sf-menu ul ul {
position: static;
display: block !important;
opacity: 1 !important;
top: auto;
left: auto;
}
- AJ
Hello AJ,
1. Here is the URL. https://goo.gl/LKm8ed Any help would be appreciated!
2. The snippet worked. Thanks!
Hi,
For the dropdown opacity currently you have this custom CSS on your site:
.wpex-sticky-header-holder { opacity: .9; }
That is making the whole header see-through including the dropdowns.
You can add extra opacity just to the dropdowns if you wanted like this:
body #site-navigation .dropdown-menu ul {
opacity: 0.8;
}
But if you wanted to remove the opacity then you need to remove it from the header because it’s the element’s parent so it’s applied to everything and can’t be overritten for inner elements.

Hi AJ, trying to raise a ticket, but when I log into Envato from the support site I get an error message saying I don’t have a licence.
I was logged in as a client the first time, but logged out and am definitely logged in as my self now.
m
The Envato login gets cached in the browser and it can cause an issue, can you log in via a different browser?
If we don’t need to log into the site you can always ask away here

Hi AJ – I’m now using Total for a courses website along with WooCommerce and wondered if there was a way to link a staff member (tutor) with a product (course) so that it would show on the product page?
I have tried to add a tutor as a product attribute which kind of works but I don’t like the way the woocommerce custom attribute page is displayed.
Either can i link product to staff? or how can i change the look of the woocommerce product ‘attribute’ page? ideas?
Many thanks in advance.
Hi,
What do you want to show on the product page exactly? Just the name of the “tutor” or a full bio?
Either way the best way would be to add a dropdown to the product page in the backend so you can select your “tutor” this can be done fairly easily – http://www.remicorson.com/mastering-woocommerce-products-custom-fields/ – that allows the end user to easily select the staff member.
In terms of the front-end WooCommerce has various hooks you can use to add extra content and I can provide a simple example but depends what you want to show and where.

Hi AJ and team,h i use the sticky shrink header on a development page. What i like to do, is that the logo in the header is shown not before a certain element gets out of the viewport. The reaon for that is: I have a centered big Logo on the fullwidth/fullheight startscreen, so i only need the logo in the header (on the upper left corner) when the big logo leaves the screen while the user scolls down. Do you have any recommendation how to solve this or a little snippet? My script that adds a class to the logo to make it visible when the user scrolled a little, is not working (wh = different screensizes needs different amounts of pixels to scroll down)
<script> function showlogo() {
const distanceY = window.pageYOffset || document.documentElement.scrollTop,
headerEl = document.getElementById('site-logo-inner');
function init() {
window.addEventListener( 'scroll', function( event ) {
if( !didScroll ) {
didScroll = true;
setTimeout( scrollPage, 250 );
}
}, false );
}
wh=window.jQuery(window.innerHeight); var h=wh/2; }
if (distanceY > h) {
headerEl.classList.add("logoon");
} else {
headerEl.classList.remove("logoon");
}
window.addEventListener(‘scroll’, showlogo);
</script>
Hi,
I am a bit confused….
1. You want the header logo to be hidden by default then display when the header is sticky?
2. Or you need the logo hidden but only show when the header becomes sticky but then scrolls past a certain part?
Can you please confirm and if possible share the URL. In the future can you also use Gist – https://gist.github.com/ – to share snippets because a lot of code can’t be pasted in pre tags so it breaks as it did above. Thanks!
- AJ
Hi AJ, sorry for the confusion. I need the logo hidden and only show when an element that is in the centre of the screen (a big logo) leaves the viewport. PG
Can you share the URL so I can inspect the html and test the code in the console before sending it over? Should be pretty easy to do and you can use jQuery since it’s already loaded on the site no need to use javascript – aka $( ’#site-logo-inner’ ) instead of document.getElementById
- AJ
Hi AJ, i just send a (private) ticket to you with the URL PG
Got it.
How do I adjust the image size in the categories grid? When I look at the categories grid on my homepage, the images are extremely large and distorted. When I try to change the size of these images within the categories grid, it doesn’t seem like anything changed at all.
Hi,
You should be able to change them easily via the Image tab – https://cl.ly/sViv
If the images aren’t resizing there could be a server issue preventing WordPress from resizing them. Or it could be an issue with the original image sizes and your defined cropping (original images smaller then the cropping size).
Are the settings not working for you?
- AJ
Hey AJ,
I played around with it, and the issue seems to only happen when I have “Overlay Title” ON. When I turn it off, the images seem to resize with no issues.
I’m trying to set up the Categories Grid settings to look like your video, where the grid is centered in the middle of the page and the four categories are spaced properly.
I’m having issues where the images and text don’t align up properly.
How do I set up the grid so the images centered above the category title, and the 4 categories are spaced evenly?
My URL is smallbizaccelerator.com if you want to take a quick look at it.
-Matt
Hi Matt,
When you enable the Overlay images are stretched out via CSS (if they are too small) otherwise your overlay will be larger then the image itself and not look good. Example: https://cl.ly/sWZd
Right now you are stretching the row with the categories so they expand the full-width of the site. I would recommend editing the row where you have the categories and removing the stretched row setting so they are centered on the page like the other content on the site. This will also make the items much smaller.
You can also fiddle with the grid spacing if you want greater spacing between the items which will of course make them smaller as well – https://cl.ly/sXRc
Dam that’s a nice domain name you picked up!
- AJ
Hey AJ,
I’ll just clarify on what I mean.
The Blog Grid out of the box seems to center the posts evenly on the page and they are symmetric. Spacing between each post seems to be perfect and eye pleasing.
The Categories Grid seems like you have to tweak the Entry CSS to have it centered in the webpage, and even then the categories are awkwardly spaced apart.
-Matt
Thanks AJ!
Hi,
The Blog grid and categories grid use the exact same code for the actual columns and spacing. But your blog grid is showing 3 columns and your categories grid is showing 2 columns but in the 2 columns your images are smaller then the columns themselves – https://cl.ly/sWxo
Also your categories grid is located in a stretched row where your blog entries are not stretched – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/full-screen-rows/ – so they are centered nicely on the site. So you will want to edit the row with the categories grid to disable the stretched row function.
Now for your categories grid if you wanted to center the images and text you can do so by adding “textcenter” in the Custom Classes field, this is a generic class used in all WordPress themes to center content – https://cl.ly/sWtu
- AJ
Answered all my questions. Thank you!
Great! If you need anything else let me know.
Hi AJ,
Do you have the latest Revolution Slider version? Can you send me a link to download? The new version has the fix for a video background not working on Chrome. Thanks!
Hi,
I am releasing a Total update shortly which includes updated RevSlider and WPBakery page builder. If you want to open a ticket I’ll zip it over right now though before the official update.
Of course you can always purchase your own license of the plugin to get the auto updates and access to the premium addons. A lot of customers do this since it is very affortable. If you do a lot of freelance work using the plugin what many of my customers do is activate the plugin on your computer locally to access premium addons/updates and you can export them to a live site if needed.
- AJ
ps: I see you already have 9 licenses under your account, awesome! Thank you for choosing Total. If you have any suggestions for future updates please let me know.
I have add a new license of the plugin and it fixed the problem.
I suggest adding an accordion option for the product detail page in addition so not just only tabs but accordion effect. I used it with different themes and they look really nice. The accordion takes the addition of any new tabs added through Woo Product Tab management extension from WC…
Lovely Monday!
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. It’s a good idea, but aren’t there already a lot of good plugins that you can use for this? Usually if there is a addon I don’t really like adding the extra feature since it does create added bloat even for those not using it. However, this does seem to be something used quite a lot in shops…so maybe I could add it
Do you have a live example for some inspiration of what you did? Thanks!
- AJ
There isn’t an extension that gives you an accordion effect for product detail page but it is doable this with some CSS. Not everyone needs the additional tab management extension but I bet everyone would love to have an accordion effect in their product detail page, or at least the option of having it. If someone wants to add the additional tab extension, then they can use your current product page settings. I think few will do that but a lot will use the accordion effect… .
A new eCommerce store is coming up using your theme and it will look fabulous. I’ll keep you posted!
I’ll send you a sample of my work on your private email, just to protect the privacy of my clients…
Cool, if you open a ticket and request it be assigned to me then I will have a look at the example, thanks!!!! – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/support/ – if you do try and send a direct email I will never get it. Thanks!
I hope you are having a great start to the week,
AJ
Just submit it and I’m open to do freelance work to any project or a client of yours using your theme…
Alright I’ll reply in a sec.
I can add you to a list of freelancers I have – awesome
- AJ
Email sent.
Replied…
just purchased this theme and I get this error (Warning: POST Content-Length of 17278151 bytes exceeds the limit of 8388608 bytes in Unknown on line 0 The link you followed has expired.) please help. I have installed all required software on my laptop as localhost, if that helps.
Hi,
This is Aj the theme developer. Depending how you setup your localhost (MAMP, XAMP, other) a lot of the default PHP settings are fairly low.
This error happens if your post_max_size is very low. Total and all bundled plugins should run perfectly fine and recommend at least 32MB for your post_max_size. I would also recommend you make sure your memory_limit is at least 256 and your max_execution_time is set to 300.
It’s also highly recommended that your PHP version be 7.0 or greater.
If you still have issues after updating your localhost let me know!
- AJ
