also, whenever I just want to put a link in the content, the link doesn’t come through. it just says what ever I titled the link but doesn’t click through. is there not a way to have a link directly under the title of the post on the news/posts page without categorizing the post as a link (that causes this ridiculous chain link icon to appear).

1.3.3 and I learned something else. so the main posts don’t show ‘read more’ but if I click on a sub category and in this case, Economic Commentary, the read more shows up. https://carystreetpartners.com/category/newsletters/
ok. so just thinking through it helped as instead of working with the theme settings, I looked into the settings on the news page calling for the blog posts and the ‘read more’ had been turned off. seems sometimes on updates the settings get whacked. anyway. is there a way to show just a link? a lot of what I post are pdf’s and I just want to post ‘click here’ or ‘read document’ but they have to click on the article first for that link to work even though it shows up.

that would be great as it appears no settings or html come through on the initial display of the post. doesn’t matter if I give a header value or assign a link, you have to click to the next page before any of that displays.

Hi! I got a problem with editing menu in Crane theme. I go to groovy menu part in WP admin and see all these presets that I can configure. But it seems like I do not know which of these presets is cuurently turned on on my website. I tried to edit almost every one, save and try if it influences my website in any way, but it did not. How can I find ut which preset to edit to influence how my menu looks?

Did you import the whole site or some special demo page(s) and section(s)?
In demo content, we are trying to show as many possibilities as possible. For that, we are shown and use different types of Menu presets for different pages. The theme allows you to flexibly configure different presets of menus for different pages, sections, taxonomies.
Theme Options
1) Here you can choise a preset for sections http://nimb.ws/GXl7eg and by the same for blog, portfolio, shop sections.
2) And bellow each pages you can set a own preset http://nimb.ws/8bDQpU provided that “Overide global settings” is enabled

We disable frontend mode for a while, because only standard WPBakery widgets work fine in this mode, Ultimate Addons and Grooni Widgets still not working correctly in this mode.
I think we can try to enable this mode on your side, but correctly you will be able to work only with standard widgets. If you want it please create a ticket on our support portal.
Also soon we can do adapting our widgets to work in front-end mode.

This looks like a bug. When the first element on a Page is an Advanced Carousel (after two spacers), search results for a string on the same Page finds it but the search results include javasctipt. e.g.

I visited your site and it seems that everything works as expected. When I click on portfolio tiles it redirects me to portfolio single post without 404. Maybe some cache plugins caused that.

HELP! I’ve bought crane theme and I cannot install it to my wordpress!

Hi. I have created a portfolio page containing a portfolio widget with “Overlay with zoom and link icons on hover” hover style. It works fine, shows all portfolio works, but there is one little problem… I have a lot of works that are badly cropped by default (for example it shows half of the head) and I would like to be able to set my own thumbnail, but only for the grid (currently when clicking on preview in grid it shows that thumbnail in slider) – I would like to show the full version. Is that possible?

Yes, frontend editor is disabled, The reason why we disabled frontend editor is that we faced the problems of displaying some blocks while using with custom widgets and some 3rd party plugins (MPC, UA, and our WPBakery widgets) that add functionality to Page builder. We will turn this option back as soon as ensure full compatibility with these widgets and plugins.

When will you be turning that option back on? Without that option, there really is no way to edit how the website will look on mobile… I only purchased the theme because it came with WP Bakery and to know it doesn’t come with the full version is a little upsetting.

We can directly include the “Front end” mode on your side. The problem is that WPBakery plugins such as Ultimate Addons, Massive Addons, Grooni Widgets which included in the package, do not have a version for editing in “Frontend Mode”. Only Standart WPBakery widgets working well in this mode.
I do not see any difficulties in working in the backend mode to create a mobile and tablet version, everything is configured in this tab http://nimb.ws/G6Ko1P

What needs to be compliant is the end user website, it is not the software a website is built on. The Crane WordPress theme as an entity does not violate GDPR terms because the theme does not collect any data. But we are using and including 3rd party plugins, which for example using google fonts via google cdn and so on.
So answering your question, most likely the theme is not GDPR compliant now, because we didn’t any special additions to the code yet. Now we are working on adding advanced tools for that.
Also, WordPress 4.9.6 includes 4 new Tools for GDPR compliance.
- Auto creation of a Privacy Policy page based on your theme and plugins.
- Ways for site admins to list and export data collected.
- Optin to obtain consent on comments to retain data.
- A method for visitors to request and edit data held on them.
I think this response is a bit convoluted,

I hope it is not an effort to evade updating your theme for compliance. Software is developed for end use, and if there are statutory requirements at point of use then I think it is only to your advantage to ensure that you include compliance with your theme otherwise as consumers we shall have to avoid purchasing your theme due to the added costs of either a plug-in or developer fees.

2) Alternative demo of WooCommerce shop in the process of creation now. You are can see how we use a Crane Theme on our company site “Grooni.com” for selling our items, Only there we use another type of showcase without any filters, price and categories.
3) You can create this directory style http://nimb.ws/6M5OYV through our gallery widget: You can add information in a custom fields: categories, pice, text or graphical tags. It works such as in the gallery http://crane.grooni.com/four-columns-classic/
And we have only one filter for categories. Aslo you will not have a basket or anything else. This solution can only be suitable for a small online store or marketplace.
