Hello – we do not have WPML plugin in use and hence reinstalling it, as described in the linked thread, wouldn’t help. We’ve also tried updating the Porto-included plugins with all other plugins disabled, and receive the same error. Additional threads found on google suggested trying to install the failing plugins separately and/or with an FTP update, but it can’t be done in this case since these two plugins come inside Porto, and we don’t have access to their separate .zip update files since the update is done from inside Porto.
So this didn’t help, what else could be causing the issue?

If you want to set your online store with only one page you can use our Porto WordPress theme and set only the shop page for your site and delete all the other pages as per your requirements.
Yes, the visitor has the possibility to add items directly into the cart by clicking on the Add to cart button on the shop page.

I see new HTML Blocks under WP Porto Child Theme Options > General – where do I find the documentation on this? Hoping to use this to insert existing block I created ‘call-to-action’ so it will show in banner on all pages by default unless the page/post already has defined banner.

The HTML Blocks under Appearance >> Theme Options >> General, is the latest new feature of the Porto WordPress Theme.
If you want to show any of the Block at any section of your site and on the complete site then you have to use the HTML Block feature.
It is simply like the Global Block, means if you set the Block for the top section then that particular block will show on your complete site pages/posts top section.
You have to create a block as per your requirements under WP-Dashboard >> Blocks and then copy that particular block HTML/Text like showing in this screenshot: https://pasteboard.co/HyMhm4i.png and then go to Appearance >> Theme Options >> General >> HTML Blocks and paste it at any section as per your requirements, then that block will be showing on the same place on your complete site.
And as per the documentation is concerned, we are working on the documentation updation and soon you will find an update documentation as well.

Would be MUCH BETTER if you did this the other way around – instead of “HTML Blocks” as you have them you should consider instead having “Global Default Blocks” and have the same drop-down and options you have for Banner Type in View Options on pages/posts/categories – this way we can still have simple HTML blocks if we want … but will also allow us to use all the benefits of Blocks such as using Shortcodes and WPBakery Page Builder – plus we will only ever need to edit it in one place.
As-is, without this I have been adding Banner Type blocks to each affected page, each post category, and all posts with Porto Theme options > Post > Single Post > Global Banner Block (so many places to change and then we have to remember this when adding new pages and categories – I always forget this and my clients never know how to do this on their own…!)

I have 31 websites using Porto. You absolutely have to make updating easier. This is crazy.
Seriously do you know how long it takes to upload the Porto folder to an FTP server? Now imagine having to do this 31 times. It literally takes me an entire day to update my websites. This MUST BE FIXED. I never had an issue losing settings when updating through Wordpress when you had that functionality. You must bring it back!

Sorry to say that but the automatic update process of the theme removes all the Customization of the customers sites that is why we switched it to manual update, now manual update will not affect on the Customization of the customers sites.
But I am forwarding your suggestion as a feature request to our development department then they will look through it in next coming updates of the theme.
Please try to update the theme via CPanel by following the steps given below hope you will not find an issue and also it will not take more than 3 minutes to upload the theme on the server if your server requirements meet the theme minimum requirements.
First of all please take the complete backup of your site/theme current version and then make sure that your server requirements must meet the latest theme minimum requirements.
Please try to install/update your theme by yourself first if you fail then we will do it for you. Please follow the below steps:
1. Take the complete backup of your current site.(If you are updating theme)
2. Go to CPanel wp-content/themes and rename old theme Porto to anything.(If you are updating theme)
3. Upload the latest zip file of the theme there in wp-content/themes.
4. Extract the zip file of the theme there.
5. Go to WP Admin Panel >> Appearance and activate the theme there.
Your theme will be updated easily.

Can you please make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme and plugins and also please make sure that you have deactivated/delete these 3 plugins: (Porto Widgets, Porto Shortcode, Porto Content-Type) and the answer you will find in the below given note.
Note: Please take a complete backup of your site before update the theme and also deactivate/delete these three plugins (Porto Widgets, Porto Shortcode, Porto Content-Type) before an update because in our latest theme we have made a new Plugin named Porto Functionality is combination of these 3 plugins so before install Porto Functionality you must deactivate/delete those 3 plugins and in our new update also Ultimate addon for Visual composer Plugin is also excluded, the elements which are used in the site of Ultimate Addon we add those elements in Porto Functionality so no need to worry but you can use Ultimate Addon for visual composer as well it is up to you.

Also a feature under theme options for google analytics code would be great.
Also 1 click update feature would be a lot better than the current methods of updating.

2. You can add the Google Analytics code into Appearance >> Theme Options >> JavaScript code there you will find two text boxes one for adding code into head and other is adding code into body so it is up to you that where you want to use the code.
3. Sorry to say that but 1-Click update of the theme creates trouble for lot’s of Customers who did Customization in the theme files and 1-Click update removes/overrides all the Customization for the customers so that is why we always recommended to update the theme manually.

1. If you want to open the social widget in a new window tab then please go to Appearance >> Widgets and use Porto follow us widget and set it as per your requirement, it will open the particular social rss in a new window tab.

Please Login into your Theme-Forest Account and go to Downloads and download the Porto Theme Latest all files onto your Computer and extract that file into your Computer you will find the Theme Files folder in it and in the Theme files folder you will find porto.zip file which is actually the latest Theme.
First of all please take the complete backup of your site/theme current version and then please make sure that your server requirements must meet the latest theme minimum requirements as given in the theme documentation here: http://www.portotheme.com/wordpress/porto/documentation/
Please try to install/update your theme by yourself first if you fail then we will do it for you. Please follow the below steps:

We have just purchased this theme, and have imported the demo content, i’m just working through changing the skins in the theme setting, some of the changes aren’t updating. It looks like it’s not regenerating the css files (skin_1.css, skin_rtl_1.css) in /home/sites/1a/a/a0118024a3/public_html/wp-content/themes/porto/css. Any ideas?

It seems the permission issue. Your server did not give permission to add/save the settings of the Theme Options. Basically, when you saved the theme options then it’s created the skin_1.css file inside the CSS folder, because of permission the theme is not able to create this file on your site. Please contact your hosting provider to change the permission to 777 or 755 of the CSS folder and all files in it hope your issue will solve if not then please contact us through our support system with your site WP Admin and Cpanel Login details so we will check and solve it for you.
Ok thank you – the site updated the style sheet in the end and everything was perfect. I’ve just login 6 hours later and I installed the Porto shop theme 2, it has now lost all of the header and footer that was installed and all the Custom CSS, many hours of work, how do I get this back with out having to start from scratch? Has there been some sort of automatic update??

If you have the backup of your site with the Custom CSS code that you have inserted into your site then please ask your hosting provider to run that backup for you, otherwise it is not possible to get it back that has been lost.

My Woocommerce plugin gives me this message:
“Your theme (Porto) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. You can see which files are affected from the system status page. If in doubt, check with the author of the theme.”
When will you update this? I have not started using the site for sales or anything yet so I can replace Woocommerce template files without worrying about losing data. It explains how to update the templates myself and its a very lengthy process that I dont really understand but I am assuming you are not selling the theme now still with outdated Woocommerce template files are you? Can I just re-download the theme or how can I get updated template files?

Sorry for the inconvenience, it is showing only a single WooCommerce template as outdated because WooCommerce releases it’s update and that is why the single template of the theme has outdated, Our development department is working on the theme update and soon hopefully within a couple of days you will find an updated version of the theme with solved this outdated template issue so until that please be patience.
