Hi… Suddenly my social icons is showing as squares
Can you help me?
after the last update only.
Hey AlohaFX,
If you’ve verified that no plugins you have active are causing this in regards – please share your URL so I can take a look to help out
Cheers
9.0? I emailed twice but never got it.
Hey NerdCommerce, I sent you a copy 4 day ago – if you didn’t receive it I can try sending it again to a different email, however the release will now be out tomorrow
Hi, I’m trying to set up our blog page to match this demo page (http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-corporate-2/corporate-2-news/) and I’m running into a couple problems:
(1) In mobile view, the featured image appears left of the title and smushed. On the demo page, it is responsible and reorients to appear above the title.
(2) How can I change the styling for titles in the sidebar, for the first featured posts widget? In CSS I can’t figure out how to isolate just the titles below the first one in with the featured image bg. I’d like it to be black and bold instead of blue and regular weight. Can’t find a theme option to hit these.
(3) In the demo, the sidebar is wider, how can I edit this?
Here’s my page: https://bacc.cc/read-v2/
Thanks!
Hey mikequery!
1. Add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
@media only screen and (max-width: 690px) {
.post-area.featured_img_left .article-content-wrap .post-featured-img-wrap, .post-area.featured_img_left .article-content-wrap .post-content-wrap {
width: 100%!important;
}
.post-area.featured_img_left .article-content-wrap {
display: block!important;
}
}
2.
body .widget ul.nectar_widget[class*="nectar_blog_posts_"] > li .post-title {
color: #000;
}
3. Change your theme skin to “material” in the Salient options panel > general settings tab
Cheers
Thanks! #1 and #3 worked great! For #2, is there a way to make the second and third post titles black, but the first one white since it is on top of the image?
Wait nvm it works, I think maybe the Material option changed it. Thank you!
Glad to hear mikequery
Hi there. How do I make the “single image” not bloat the images but rather show “as-is”? Example:
https://spinkandedgarusa.com/static-ads2nd Row, you see three ads side by side.
The 3rd ad with the bed and hemp in the background should look like this:
https://spinkandedgarusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/SpinkEdgar-SitNSleep-GoogleRemarketAd-Toxic-Aug18-120x600.pngBut your single image seems to be “stretching it to the column”
I am not sure how to fix this to get the image to show actual size.
Please advise and thank you very much!
Hey carnavat,
Can you please try to add the link again to the actual page – https://spinkandedgarusa.com/static-ads is going to a 404 at the moment and I would need to see the page setup to assist
Thanks in advance
I have two questions:
In the Blog demo http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-startup/blog/ article “ink in water” you use the “Video” type, but it does not do anything. Clicking on the play button opens the article and there is no video in the article. How is the video type supposed to work?
And is it possible to set the general image formats to 16:9, so all images can be video screenshots, for example?
Hey bluemonkeys,
1. The classic enhanced masonry type will add a video icon when the video format is selected, you can then supply a video embed via the video post format box which will display inside of the post or add a video element into the page builder at the top of your post if desired.
2. Are you referring to altering the image size within the grid itself i.e. on this layout: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-startup/blog/ or are you talking about when setting a preview image for a self hosted video?
Thanks!!
1. we have a Vimeo iFrame embed code on this post http://w4m.bluemonkeys.gmbh/showreel/ but it does not show anything
2. yes, i want to alter the image size on the grid!
Hey bluemonkeys, are you entering the iframe into the video post format embed metabox rather than adding it through the page builder? If so, ensure that you have the option turned off in your Salient options panel > blog tab “Hide Featured Image on Single Post”
2.That would require modding the following image size in the functions.phpadd_image_size( 'portfolio-thumb', 600, 403, true );after doing so, you’d need to regenerate the thumbnails https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
Thanks for your help, it worked!
Glad to hear bluemonkeys
How do I get rid of this black bar above my footer? Screenshot here: http://prntscr.com/kmd4cs Website: https://vaveili.com/
Hey Vaveili,
add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
body[data-bg-header="true"].home .container-wrap{
padding-bottom: 0px;
}

Hi there,
I have purchased ur theme last year. It was working fine for a while. Then recently, on chrome it has an issue that portfolio on home page only showing 3 items, while the others dissapear.
url: riosoetanto.com
I tested on firefox and safari and both were working fine, just on chrome it doesn’t work well now.
Can you tell me what’s happening?
Hey callmerio,
I’m currently seeing 7 items when viewing in Chrome – if you’re still only seeing 3, could you kindly let me know what version & OS you’re using?
Cheers
HI themeNectar,
Im using chrome Version 67.0.3396.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)
and Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6
you are looking at 7 items?
Hey callmerio, I am seeing 7 currently on Chrome & Safari as well as when I check on those browser on Browserstack
https://imgur.com/a/iw8wK9aIs there supposed to be more? If not, can you try checking the browser console on your end when loading the page for any errors that may get tracked
Hi themenectar.
I just checked the console but no errors found. 7 is the right amount.but on my chrome it only showing 3 here: https://imgur.com/a/itD53p6it somehow only shows the 3 items posted on 2016, nothing posted after 2016 are shown. ...
Hey callmerio, have you also verified that no browser plugins you may have active could be causing it?
do plugins really interfere with it? I do have several plugins on my browser, but few months back it was fine.
It’s possible that adblocker plugins could if they think that category of the project could be anything related to an add – have you also tested on a second machine yet just to see if it’s local to your current one?
This still doesn’t work with WooCommerce’s Product Reviews Pro add-on. Please fix this. It’s an official plugin and they say the issue is with Salient.
Hey sam1994, I’d be glad to look into the issue – can you please list the specifics of what is not working so I can investigate? Also if you have a ticket open from the support forum, please let me know the ID as well.
Cheers
The appearance of a review or the submission form is completely misrendered. I do believe I raised this a while ago when my support was active, but didn’t renew as this wasn’t addressed. It has been a while..
Can you confirm that you are using the latest theme version and that you have the “Overall Form Style” option set to “inherit from theme skin” in the Salient options panel > form styling tab? If that’s already the case – please share your URL where I can take a look
Thanks in advance
We tried this, it didn’t help. I mentioned this before. The add-on is an official WooCommerce add-on. Please support it.
Hey sam1994, it would easier to assist if you could provide a URL so I can duplicate your theme settings locally – kindly just let me know whether that’s possible or not. I gave a look through your old tickets on the support forum and couldn’t find anything relating to this which would provide more details
Hello
I cannot deploy it live on my website or it will cause problems with the website.
I’m using: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-product-reviews-pro/.
Please find URL for the plugin looking weird under Salient: http://104.237.130.231/index.php/product/a-test-product/
I can produce a version with Storefront if you really need, but you should be able to find examples online.
If you can fix this it would be appreciated. Please let me know when I can destroy the server.
Sam
Hey Sam, it looks like most of the conflicts are stemming from the Enable Fancy Select/Checkbox/Radio Styling option in the Salient options panel > form styling tab – that option has been updated in v9 which was just released and it should fix it
Thanks for your reply and for the release of v9. I’ve been looking forward to it. I have updated and you can see it here: http://104.237.130.231/index.php/product/a-test-product/.
It seems better.
You’re welcome sam1994, thanks for updating and letting me know
Pre-sales question: can you please provide a list pf plugins used by this theme and note whether the plugins are required or just recommended? And are there any pro plugins bundled with and if so how will these be updated?
Hey hlikes, the only bundled premium plugin is WPBakery page builder and that’s also the only required plugin. Other plugins that are recommended are free such as WooCommerce/Contact Form etc. Updates for the page builder are included with theme updates directly
Hey man, could u send over a copy of the new version (beta)? Best and thanks, Andi
Hey rockzi, I’m not seeing any emails from this account name requesting access – have you reached out via the contact form on my author page recently? https://themeforest.net/user/themenectar
Cheers
Before I buy, please tell me if this works with Divi builder plugin. Thank you
Hey signs-grafix, unfortunately not – Salient relies on the WPBakery page builder plugin
Hi two issues:
1. Unordered list http://neat.cloudaccess.host/#whatwedo – the font is a differnt colour. It should be #858585 but its lighter. Please check on google chrome as its the most noticable.
2. In the http://neat.cloudaccess.host/#privacy please clik on Provay Pokicy.. When it drops down there is an area with bullet points, still much lighter than normal text?
3. In the Slaint settnigs, ‘overall font color’ isnt working. Even if I select RED it still defauks back to a grey colour?
Hey,
1. I’ve just verified that the #858585 is being set on that text as when I change the value in the browser inspector, the color changes accordingly. It most likely looks lighter to you because the font itself is very thin. Try setting the weight a little thicker for the body text in the Salient options panel > typography tab (currently set to 300)
2. For any text that you’ve manually set the color on using inline styling (which appears a lot throughout your page) – the options panel setting will not be able to override that: https://imgur.com/a/ZEbmZgD
OK I am going to try and explain the above again as there is a definate problem here BUT I need to you view on Chrome please.
1. http://neat.cloudaccess.host/#whatwedo Where is the overall setting from the font body color coming from? Whenever I change the settings – ‘overall font color’ the text never changes color, it stays as the same colour grey. i.e. I have currently ser the overall font color’ in the saleint settings to #dd3333 (red) but its still grey?!
2. The bullet text used from your UNORDERED LIST is not the same as the body font above, but I need it to be!?
For whatever reason the font is thinner? WHY? Where is this setting for the typograhy coming from OR is there a problem with fonts displaying different when using your unordered list? Please check Chrome. The colour also seems lighter? Again where is this color setting coming from?
- ON FIREFOX ITS NOT SO BAD, IT MUST BE TO DO WITH CHROME*
THANK YOU
Any news on this?
Hey alisonleon,
1. When you’re using text within a full width background/full width content row and have the color set to “dark”, it will override the overall color setting from the Salient options panel, if you want to let that value show, change your rows to use “custom” for the “text color” option. If you don’t want to change all of them, you can add the following in the custom css box:
body .full-width-section > .col.span_12.dark, body .full-width-content > .col.span_12.dark {
color: #dd3333;
}
2. I viewed the site on Chrome when I initially responded, I just checked it out again and can not see the difference you’re referring to: https://ibb.co/gcPuhz
I however checked the browser inspector and verified that the typography settings on the UL match the body text:font-family: Lato; letter-spacing: 0; font-size: 16px; line-height: 22px; font-weight: 300;I also adjusted those values via the inspector to verify that the UL and text above change together, meaning they’re inheriting from the same rules.
Hi, re point 2 – This is what I am seeing, and also my client is seeing: https://ibb.co/cw7LfU
Im not quite sure why this is but it is different. Myself and my cleint are using a MAC screen – is this why?
Either way I somehow need the colour to look similar, is this bacially what I am stick with, ir can I change the colour of the bullets manually?
This is definitely a problems for mac users? ITS 100% to do with your bullet points, nothing else.
Pease check again on Chrmoe here http://neat.cloudaccess.host/#whatwedo, youll see theres too duplicate rows, bith using bullets (one is usnig the unordered list), both rows the fonts are thinner, on a MAC.
Hey alisonleon, you can try to add this into the custom css box to force more consistent font rendering for Mac:
html body {
-webkit-font-smoothing: auto; }
That fixed it, thank you
Glad to hear alisonleon
Sorry Ive noticed the same thing on my iphone and ipad…. do you have code for thoese too? Its only for the body font?
Hey alisonleon,
-webkit-font-smoothing is the only available option for modifying how the browser will attempt to render fonts – it appears that it’s only available for Mac OS and not iOS so unfortunately there’s not much else you can do with that specific font/font weight combination
Hi Nectar, is there a way to hide the WooCommerce cart icon from the main nav until something is actually added to the cart?
Hey RollingSpoke,
Yes – if you switch to the original skin in the Salient options panel > general settings tab, that will be the default functionality
Cheers
The problem with the any other skin besides Ascend is that I have these separator lines that appear in the footer under Pages and Topics (but not on Recent Posts.)
These lines are also visible under the Archives widget in the sidebar. They also appear under Topics in the sidebar but are different lengths and misaligned.
I can’t use either Original or Material skin because of these issues.
Hey RollingSpoke, the only way to remove the cart fully before any are added would require custom development yet. You can hide it with css like I’ve shown below, but there will still be extra menu space for it:
.ascend #header-outer .cart-menu-wrap:not(.has_products) {
display: none;
}
Cool thanks, but is there a way to have this work in mobile or when the screen shrinks in size?
Unfortunately there’s no css classes that change on the mobile icon link that could be used to hide/show it based on if there’s products inside
Hi. How do I insert Facebook pixel into the theme? Thanks
Never mind. Figured that out. Inserted right above google analytics code
Hey atlantchiropractic, glad to hear you sorted it
Cheers
I am trying to get the header fully transparent on mobile. I have enabled “permanent transparent” however it doesn’t appear to be working. The logo should also be centered on mobile, but it keeps appearing aligned left. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here’s the ink: http://chadwickofficial.com/
Hey tmudd89,
You need to disable the page full screen rows on mobile by using the “Disable On Mobile” option in the Page full screen row metabox in order to have a transparent header appear on mobile. Alternatively, if you’re only using one full screen row, you can turn off the full screen row functionality together and instead use the option within your row directly in the page builder to force fullscreen height.
There’s the centered logo defaults to the left on mobile layouts with the off canvas menu navigation link on the right. Custom CSS would be needed to keep the logo centered on mobile devices. add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
.mobile #header-outer[data-format="centered-logo-between-menu"] header#top .span_3 {
text-align: center;
width: 1000%!important;
}
Cheers
Thanks for the quick reply. I got the transparent part to work, but the code you provided for the centered logo does not appear to be working.
Hey tmudd89, please verify that no “pre” tags pasted into the custom css box with the snippet – if any of those exist, the CSS will not be able to parse on the site
Any news on when 9.0 is dropping ?
Hey nvado, it will be out this week
Hey Guys – Following up on getting the BETA sent over
Hey jmrosenheck, just sent over a copy
Cheers
Hello,
I have the theme configured to have the menu and logo on the left side with the main content on the right. However I’ve noticed that when its like this, you are unable to click on the top level menu items. This works fine in the mobile view, its just desktop view where this isn’t working. Am I missing an option somewhere? Marcus
Hey Marcus,
The left header navigation turns submenus into “accordion” like entities as seen in business demo with the about item http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-business For now you would need to make the first child of the submenu act as the main link
I’ve got an issue with how the theme handles displaying post categories. I think this should be fixed.
My post is a category which has 2 parents like this: Travel > Europe > Ukraine. The primary category is Travel. On the post page it’s displayed alphabetically like this: https://i.imgur.com/kWBqj8M.png but should be displayed in hierarchic order like here in the post editor: https://i.imgur.com/TFmUlsT.png also on the home page I got post slideshow and it’s displaying 1 category (the first ony alphabetically – which is not logical like this:) https://i.imgur.com/yQFhsZt.png .It should display the category that has been chosen as primary. in this case – Travel.
thanks
Hey crazyheart, Salient is using the default WordPress function to output those (get_the_category )
Unfortunately there’s no options available to it which could order them that way.
If you switch to one of the default WP themes to test, the same order should appear on your single post page. I’ve noted to look further into workarounds, but i’m afraid there’s no quick fix I can provide currently
Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I investigated and it should be possible using: https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/wp_list_categories/
- ‘hierarchical’ (bool) Whether to include terms that have non-empty descendants.
If you need a function that does not format the results, try get_categories().
thanks
You’re welcome
Hello. To make a H1 header on my homepage you suggested to use a background-image instead of the Salient Slider.
However, when I try to use a full-height background image it does not align properly. Please see the difference between https://www.goedeshampoo.nl/ and https://www.goedeshampoo.nl/test-home/ Notice how the test-home the banner is too high (it runs of the screen) and it is not scaled to the screen. Is there a way to correct this?Hey dzineee,
That’s occurring because there’s an extra html element inside of the main content area and the full height calculations are different from WPBakery if the row is not the first child of the parent – v9.0 has added a fix for that though. If you’d like a copy of the beta, please reach out in regards via the contact form on my author page https://themeforest.net/user/themenectar Cheers
Hello. We prefer not to use any beta versions. Is there any way we can currently fix this? Is there another way to re-create a full height banner with H1 header and button in the middle?
Hey dzineee, the update will be out within 24 – 48 hrs – other than updating to the new release, it would require some modding as of now
