I have updated theme to the new version but seems the nav menu icons in mobile are not on it’s position. Please see this image for reference:

Could you please share your URL in regards so I can take a look?

Hi there, thanks again for this supreme theme! Is there a way to disable background videos (on nectar slides and page headers) playing on mobile devices, and to disable parallax for background images on mobile devices? Thank you!!
I managed to disable parallax but still wondering if there’s a way to disable background videos playing on mobile devices and instead to show the poster image only when viewing on mobile/tablet. Even when my videos are very small, the website can’t seem to perform very well on my iPad Air 2 & iPhone 6, specially when the videos are in a nectar slide. It would be great to make my site ready for these older devices as well
Thank you!
all done… it was all in the options
sorry my fault
Hey ivanute,
Glad to hear you located the option

How can I translate “Shop Now” in a.nectar-category-grid-link into Polish? I use Loco Translate and it is not possible to translate this phrase.
Hey radekcho,
The optional custom call to action link in a category grid is handled directly inside of the element itself: https://ibb.co/dGw1cK

Hey ThemeNectar! A quick question on v9 and javascript. If I wanted to create a site that loads and displays fine without javascript, can you help list the page builder elements that can be used that does not rely on js to work / display?
(I know page transitions need to be turned off)
Don’t all the nice animated elements like nectar sliders / carousels / tabs / parallax backgrounds etc. etc. rely on javascript?
Please help me (and other future users) with a list of elements that do not use javascript to be able to build a js free site.
Help much appreciated! thanks
Hey anton123, in many scenarios there are certain styles/options within each element that will require JS calculations to display correctly while leaving those options off/using alternative styles won’t require js. For example the blog element has many styles, but only the non auto masonry styles will need JS. The Recent posts element uses JS when using a slider style or multiple large featured style, but the others (minimal, classic styles, list styles) don’t. It would be way longer than possible to write in a comment here to go through all the options of every element, however you can usually tell based on how interactive an element is/if it is set to animate in on scroll. In your case, if you can just share your URL I can give assistance in narrowing down your site elements
Cheers
Thanks,
This is for a new site that has to be javascript free (no design yet, so still planning what elements to use)
As a test, I used another finished site (that is on Salient v9 with page transitions and fade out on click disabled) and then disabled .js on Chrome android: then the parallax backgrounds don’t load (making text unreadable) – the mobile menu doesn’t work (breaking navigation). Some tab elements didn’t load etc.. (I’m sure there are more elements that don’t work)
On desktop in Chrome with .js disabled – all you see is the page transition spinner, although page transitions and fade out on click are disabled? So it doesn’t load the content.
Also the fetch and render (as Google) in the search console for the homepage, the site rendering for both Google (This is how Googlebot saw the page) and visitor (This is how a visitor to your website would have seen the page) doesn’t load anything below the slider (the slider is set to fullscreen)? Other pages load most of the content when fetched and rendered? How can this be fixed?
I will email you the example URL to look at.
Please advise – very much appreciated, thanks!
Hey anton123, I’ll check your email in regards
Hey I asked this question accidentally from a different user name: “Hey…working on the blog for my page and wondering how to get a page something like this http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-agency/blog-masonry-boxed/ How does one choose what posts are what size squares or rectangles? As in some posts are big squares and some are even the full width?”
You guys replied with this: “That blog is using the “Meta Overlaid” “Masonry Style” – which is available when using any of the masonry layouts. in the Salient options panel > blog > styling tab. In order to control what posts display bigger, use the metabox available on every post page called “Masonry Item Sizing”. Also it’s worth noting that as of Salient 8.5 there’s a new masonry style which is similar to that but much easier to set up since the sizes are automatically calculated instead of requiring you to set each one of every post. The new style i’m referring to is called “Auto Masonry: Meta Overlaid Spaced”
Cheers”
I am wondering where i might find the metabox with the option to set sizing. I am using the auto masonry: meta overlaid space—- as it seems the only one closest to what I want …but can seem to get close to the result. Here is my page currently:
http://www.tenthunder.com/blog-practice/In this case I would want the two post evenly spaced across the row?
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for the help!
Hey pvictor4,
When using the auto masonry layout there is no control over the individual sizing of posts, it’s automatically determined by the screen width/post number and follows a predetermined sequence of wide/thin posts. If you want to make them even, Add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab
body .auto_meta_overlaid_spaced .masonry-blog-item {
width: 50%;
}
Cheers
So the option mentioned above by your team earlier ” In order to control what posts display bigger, use the metabox available on every post page called “Masonry Item Sizing”” is no longer valid. No problem if true…just want to make sure I am understanding correctly.
thanks
Hey pvictor4, that option is available when using any of the masonry layouts which are not automatically calculated: https://ibb.co/mQUEHK
Hi there, I have noticed some 404s that are new and wonder if you can tell if this is a Salient or Woo issue? Site is upwarddog.com.au and 404 path is /cart/image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Hey sacredimagining, are you seeing that 404 on the home page URL you shared or is it only on a specific page? Currently I haven’t been able to locate it.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for your reply. I had a bit of a dig again and it look like what’s happening is when you go to the cart page, the image for the product (which is a new feature, I think, for the cart) is flashing blank before populating correctly. That is what seems to be creating a 404 event even though you won’t see it as a 404 page. Does that make sense? It’s not critical, just a bit buggy. Cheers!
Hi. How can i add a scroll bar on the box roll effect?
Hey peakdale, the scrollbar will only be shown after you scroll down from the box roll header. Before that occurs, there technically is no page height, but there should be a scroll down arrow for the user to click.
Hi there !
I have a question about the “tabs” section, I really love how it works and it looks amazing, but I was wondering if it is possible to target a specific tab, I noticed they have “tab id” and I know I can target a whole row, with the row ID settings but is there a way to targeting a row with multiple tabs in it and it opens a specific tab?
Thank you!
Hey nikitaleonovets!
You can target a specific tab for custom styling by using the :nth-child selector
If you can share your URL in regards i’d be glad to assist in an example
Cheers
Sorry for the late reply. Here is the link: https://staging.bridgetobiz.com/vocational-schools-map/

Glad to hear onelogo
Could you let me know what the issue was for you that
caused that to occur?
Thanks in advance
Hi Salient,
sorry for delay
the problem was the redux framework plugin, I deactivate and it worked
Thanks onelogo, that’ll be sorted in the next release
Howdy! Super quick question. I’m noticing that color overlays stopped working on a single page for me. I can seem to find what’s going on with the inspect tool. Could you provide insight into why all of my image sections no longer have working overlays? https://tinyurl.com/y7s5esl4
Hey Liyte,
Could you kindly open a ticket in regards or reach out via the contact form on my author page with temporary admin credentials so I can take a closer look at the setup?

hi i have a problem with the image grid gallery and the masonry function, the gallery is already in columns and the masonry effect doens`t work. Please have a look here: https://bit.ly/2PONL7E
Hey haoe,
You need to use any of the other gallery styles if you’re trying to get a masonry layout as shown in the demo: https://ibb.co/fWAuwe
Cheers
Works, thanks
Glad to hear haoe

Hey willyitc7,
Salient offers a few different types of sliders – are you looking for a quick image only slider or do you need something with a little more functionality e.g. text content overlaid on top on the images etc like this example
Cheers

pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get rid of the White space in my header on mobile https://upautoservice.com/ – every css i’ve found from threads doesn’t seem to work for me.
Hey SiteTonight,
That issue should be fixed inn v9 – if you don’t want to upgrade, try to add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab
@media only screen and (max-width: 690px) {
body.material #header-outer[data-format="centered-menu"] .logo-spacing, body.material #header-outer[data-format="centered-logo-between-menu"] .logo-spacing {
display: none;
}
body header#top .span_9 {
position: absolute!important;
right: 0;
top: 0;
height: 100%;
}
}

Hello,
We have a site with the Salient theme that cannot scroll on some devices after an update. It works while on a Windows computer, but the site doesn’t seem to be able to scroll on a Mac, and iPhone or an Android phone.
http://andreaharney.com/Thanks!
Hey theoceanagency,
In your child theme the CSS that you’re importing is adding a rule that sets the html/body height to 100%
@import '//codepen.io/chrisdothtml/pen/ojLzJK.css';
If you can remove that or just this rule inside it will be fixed
html,body {
height: 100%;
}

Hello! Can’t get social icons to show in off canvas navigation. Tried everything! Any secret sauce I’m not aware of? Thanks!
Hey mardoqueo! If you have the option on for “Off Canvas Menu Add Social” in the Salient options panel > header navigation >
off canvas navigation, please share your URL in regards so I can take a look

Hi, I sent several emails over the last few weeks regarding some questions before renewing my support and have not heard back. Can you please answer my questions so I can decide about renewing my support. Thanks,
Hey freshfur, I just located your email and have responded in regards
Thanks for moving to Leaflet / Opensourcemaps. I have tried all the different options and I can’t get a marker to show, even if I upload my own. Any ideas? https://www.solacereef.co.uk/location/
I purchased Salient a while ago but this is a great new feature.
Looks like it’s not bringing in my Lat / Long | https://www.dropbox.com/s/vv9v1rulz64vkpc/Screen%20Shot%202018-09-18%20at%2011.25.36.png?dl=0
Sorry.. worked it out. You HAVE to put in details in the marker locations box as well as the centre point boxes.. Doh!
Hey deeps, I’m glad to hear you sorted it
Cheers
Hi guys,
Salient has a really nice looking “collapsible toggle” for sidebar widgets that appears on mobile so that long lists on widgets have to be clicked ”+” to view. It comes on with the standard widgets like Categories…
I am using it on a WooCommerce store but I am using a bunch of custom conditional category widgets and they don’t trigger the collapsible toggle on mobile. I assume I just need to add the custom widget’s classes to the js? Could you point me in the direction of where I might find that? Or what I would need to add to get other widgets to collapse on mobile? Thanks!
Hey SeanAUS120,
The CSS/JS responsible for that is only targeting WooCommerce widgets by default – in order to get it to apply to other widgets there would need to be some alterations. If you’re interested in diving in, do a search in the css/woocommerce.css file and js/init.js for the selector ”.woocommerce #sidebar .widget.woocommerce”
Cheers
awesome thanks!
You’re welcome SeanAUS120
