Hi, I’m having trouble with the front page of the theme. I just updated and the podcasts below the header now look really wonky. I took it down to just showing 1 podcast, but you can see the problem pretty clearly:

https://www.themissfisherphiles.com/

Any advice? Also, clicking between grid and list don’t seen to help. Thank you!

It seems to have fixed itself. I guess I’m good.

Hello, Sorry for the late reply, happy to hear that you figured it out. What caused/solved the problem?

I am using Podcaster theme classical demo for my website development. I want to know that “how can I display the audio player into the forced excerpt being displayed on the front page”?

Need urgent help, please.

Thanks

Hello, thanks for getting in touch. Could you please log into the accout you used to purchase Podcaster. Your current account does not display as having purchased the theme. Unfortunately I need that in order to give support.

I am trying to allow download on each of my episode pages. I have ready previous comments where I should “Allow Downloads” but I don’t see that option. I am using Seriously Simple Podcast plugin. See episode page below: http://shootingspacespodcast.com/podcast/episode-47-herb-dierks-founder-of-hdphotohub/ How can I allow downloading? I asked the guys from SSP and they said my theme player is overriding the SSP player? Does that make sense?

Hello, Thanks for getting in touch. Are you by any chance using the HTML5 player in the SSP settings?

Hello again, not sure if you managed to resolve this. Just letting you know that there is now an update out, that covers meta data for your players. You can now activate this section within the theme options. Hope this helps!

Just a quick note to let you know Podcaster features in our recently updated podcast theme roundup 21 Awesome WordPress Podcast Themes to Make Audio Sites. Great work!

Thanks! For the kind words and first spot as well, really appreciate it!

I am still awaiting your response on 3 issues. Can you please respond ?

Hello, thanks for getting in touch. I hope you got the heads up email I sent you, the customization support requests you sent were pretty extensive that is why it’s taking some time.

Please keep in mind that item support does not include item customization but I am always happy to give pointers and help people who wish to customize instead of flat out saying no. This means that it can take some time to get back. Especially with multiple messages.

I apologize for taking longer, but I hope you understand. Expect the replies within the next couple of hours.

Is there a way to turn on numbered pagination or add it in? I’d rather user be able to scroll through pages on the front page rather than directing them to an archive.

Hello, thanks for getting in touch. That section of the front page is not meant to be paginated through. So putting pagination in place there would pretty much mean rewriting huge parts of the template file, including the queries, as well as setting up and styling for the pagination itself. So unfortunately this cannot be done. Really sorry about that.

Hi, love the theme! Very easy to set up. I would like to ‘clean up’ the frontpage though, by only showing the header (with featured podcast), no blog or archive. Is this possible?

Hello, sure you can try the following. Adding this to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

.list-of-episodes { display: none; }

will hide the episode area.

After that go to Theme Options > Front Page > Blog Excerpts Section and select “Hide”. This will hide the blog area. I hope this helps!

This worked perfectly! Thank you very much. I only needed to adjust the frontpage background color to the container background color to complete the ’ clean frontpage’. Thanks!

Happy to hear! Sure, try the following: .list-of-episodes { background-color: #fff; }

This is for the “Powered by…” area footer.main { background-color: blue; } footer .footer-widgets { color: #fff; }

Hope this helps!

I need help! The front page of joshyouaround.com is no longer looking it’s best. I have updated the theme and tried to fix the problem but it appears that posts are trying to load in list and grid which is causing overlapping. Please assit me in figuring out what has gone wrong.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about that. If you previously added custom CSS or used a child theme to make sure the responsive layout is in list mode, you can now do that through the theme options. This means that any previous custom code can and should be removed. To do so please go to Theme Option > Front Page > Responsive Layout > Layout. If you are having trouble getting the settings right, please create a dummy account using support@themestation.net, then and I could take a look.

I don’t believe I did any of those things. However, I have set up the dummy account.Thanks for your help.

Thanks, please make sure the account as admin rights, otherwise I can’t take a look at the Appearance settings.

Our download button has disappeared on the audio player and we cannot figure out how to get it back. https://unmistakablecreative.com/podcast/emylee-williams-navigating-entrepreneurial-uncertainty/

We are using Seriously Simple Podcasting for the functionality and have the podcast set to display as a shortcode of [podcast_episode content=”player”].

The theme player styles are being applied over the top of SSP and we cannot see how to get the download functionality back. Can you direct us?

Hey, sorry to hear about that. Could you send me a screenshot of your edit page, just to I can see how you are creating your player exactly. Are you putting the audio player into the post directly, or using the SSP metabox? Are you using the SSP HTML5 player? Please send the information to support@themestation.net. I’d be happy to help.

There has to be something simple I am missing when adding video posts to my website. They appear as they should on the blog feed: https://joshyouaround.com/blog/ Yet on the individual post pages, that are linked to from the bottom of the homepage, there is no video showing whatsoever. https://joshyouaround.com/2018/08/16/winning-the-lottery/ Can this be fixed?

You’re welcome, happy to see you figured it out. And yes, sure :)

I was right! I do need more help and in short order too. I am once again having the same problem with my oEmbeded Youtube videos not playing on their own page. The problem seems to be with the PowerPress Plug in I am using to import the podcast. Even though the posts are marked as video, when the plugin is on, the embeded youtube video goes away, yet the podcast posts have full functionality. When I turn the powerpress plugin off, all the play buttons for the podcast go away throughout the site, yet the youtube videos then display properly on all pages. Is there a way to have both video and podcast pages work using the PowerPress plugin?

Embedding videos with Blubrry PowerPress plugin is kind of tricky. As far as I know it don’t support only posting embedded videos (or other content). Their plugin requires you to post a URL to a media file, not embed code or embed URL. If you go to the plugin settings ( PowerPress > Episodes > Embed Field) you can activate a field that allows you to add embed code to your post. But from what I understand, you still have to add a media URL and will then have two players. Not sure why it is set up this way, but unfortunately there is nothing I can do from my end.

The video functionality of the theme turns off when PowerPress is active to avoid conflict among the podcasting features of the plugin and those of the theme. Not sure if you need to post a video along with every post or every now and then. Either way I would suggest getting in touch with their developers to ask if it is possible to only post embedded video with out the “media URL” requirement.

You could also opt to post the videos in regular posts. I’m guessing they are not actually being picked up by your feed since they are embedded videos so that could work, too.

Hope this helps.

Is there a sample for video podcasts? Can you have featured videos on the home page instead of mp3?

Yes, videos can be featured on the front page. Unfortunately there is no demo with a featured video online at the moment.

My site is up and running. Things are smooth and the site looks good. I am having trouble with color patterns though. On the actual podcast(blog) pages, the play button is white and very hard to see. How do I change that color? I can’t seem to locate it in colors, though I’m sure its an id10t error on my part.

Here is an example of the white play button on a post https://joshyouaround.com/2018/08/09/18-hands-tall/

Hey, to edit the color of the play buttons you can add the following custom CSS to you child theme:

.single.podcaster-theme .single-featured .mejs-controls .mejs-button button { color: #888888; }

Hope this helps!

Hello!

The new version of Redux Framework came out a few hours ago (3.6.10), and it affects some of the settings with the Podcaster theme, including the display of header text and the buttons for RSS subscriptions. I rolled back to 3.6.9 until there’s a theme update, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Hey there, Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. They just pushed 3.6.11 in the last couple of hours and I am not able to see any of the things you described. Are you still dealing with this issue? If yes, could you send screenshots of what you are seeing to support@themestation.net. Thanks!

Looks like version 3.6.11 fixed those display issues. Thanks!

I tried the new WP Gutenberg editor but with your Podcaster theme it does not work. You can not skip to the theme’s audio file module. Will there be upgrades in the future? Thank you.

Fabio Crestale

Hello, thanks for your question. Podcaster is not yet Gutenberg ready, will be getting an update soon however. I’m unable to give a time estimation at the moment, but it will get an update soon.

Hi,

The theme used to work perfectly, but after the last update the audio player disappeared from all my podcast posts. Where are they gone?

https://podcast.svisa.nl/2018/07/06/aflevering-5-moslimstudenten-op-campus-intentie-en-je-eigen-talent-vinden-drs-hamza-akkar/

Thanks for the info. A fix is currently being worked on and should be out by tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

IT’s fixed with the new update, thanks! But now I see another problem: https://podcast.svisa.nl/. On the homepage you see the read more ‘Lees verder’ directly after the summary, without a space behind it. Is this intetnional?

Happy to hear the update worked for you. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, it will be looked into.

Thanks for the podcaster theme. I have found set-up ‘fairly’ simple. My RSS feed comes from Anchor with embedded photos and summaries. When I import the podcast episodes from Blubrry I seem to get the url source code on the blog post yet no episode photo. When I upload from anchor instead of blubrry the photo is imported but a media player is not displayed on the home page. My site is joshyouaround.com and the anchor rss is https://anchor.fm/s/1fe8df4/podcast/rss I wouldn’t mind uploading the photos manually using blubrry, but I definitely need the urls removed from the posts. Can you help?

also when entering an email address in the email icon box on the social media theme option tab produces a link on the site when the envelope is clicked that opens a message to http://email@gmail.com

Hello,

To hide the URLs, please go to your Blubrry settings and open the “Website” tab. Then under “Display Media & Links” select “Disable”. This will hide the second player and hide the URL as well.

As for the email, this has been noted and will be included in the next update (within the next two days). If you feel comfortable changing the code, do let me know and I can tell you how to do this.

Hello, pre-sale question here. I would like to know if the theme supports RSS imports from podcast hosting such as Buzzsprouts, Libsyn and will the podcast rss be updated automatically on the website every time i upload a new episode on Libsyn or Buzzsprouts?

Hello,

Thanks for your interest in Podcaster. The Libsyn plugin for remote posting is supported, which means as long as the plugin is set up, you can make a post on Libsyn and it will be posted on your site as well. Unfortunately, it will be posted with a regular in-post audio player, not a featured audio player.

Buzzsprouts has not been tested as of now so I can’t say if it would work. But it sounds like worth looking into.

I hope this answers your questions, let me know if anything is unclear. :)

Hello,

I’m assistant of range_of_motion

The URL for the above/last query is http://rangeofmotion.net.au/romcast/seven-reasons-your-should-compete-more/

Also, buttons are not center aligned on the home page for the screen over 1024px http://rangeofmotion.net.au/romcast/

Regards,

Oh that was answered in the reply to range_of_motion two days ago. I can post the reply here again:

“Hello, sorry about that. For the buttons, please add this to your custom CSS or child theme CSS:

@media screen and (max-width: 480px) { .single-post #mediainfo > .butn, .single-podcast #mediainfo > .butn { margin-right: 12px; } .single-post #mediainfo > .butn.sub-button-two, .single-podcast #mediainfo > .butn.sub-button-two { margin-left: 0; } }

I have tried this. This has fixed the issue on single post page but I’m talking about the buttons on the home page. The two subscribe buttons are left aligned on laptop screen.

Thanks for your reply, and sorry that was a misunderstanding in my end. The buttons will be fixed in the next update. But for now this should help:

.next-week .content.buttons { padding-left: 40px; padding-right: 40px; } .next-week .butn { width: calc(50% – 10px); }

1. On mobile devices, the two subscribe buttons on single post page aren’t left justified see here: https://imgur.com/a/TRDSIg2 website is: http://rangeofmotion.net.au/ROMcast/

2. On some posts (not all), why do we have the gap in between the content and the sidebar? Check here: http://rangeofmotion.net.au/ROMcast/seven-reasons-your-should-compete-more/

How to fix these?

Hello, sorry about that. For the buttons, please add this to your custom CSS or child theme CSS:

@media screen and (max-width: 480px) { .single-post #mediainfo > .butn, .single-podcast #mediainfo > .butn { margin-right: 12px; } .single-post #mediainfo > .butn.sub-button-two, .single-podcast #mediainfo > .butn.sub-button-two { margin-left: 0; } }

The other link you sent don’t seem to be working anymore. I’m getting a 404 message. Please send me a working link, I’d be happy to help.

Estimado: Compré e instalé le tema pero no logro que en la frontal-page se muestre el podcast. Tampoco veo como o donde se sube o linkea el archivo de audio para poner en la pagina. Saludos!

Dear: I already managed to configure everything, The problem were some plug ins I had installed. I ask you another question, could you recommend a plug-in for listeners to subscribe to a newsletter to install with this template? And another plug in so that the twitter time line appears in the prinicpal? Thank you!

Another query: from where I modify: “NEXT TIME ON PODCASTER Please schedule a podcast post, to make it visible here. “And schedule the next appearances?

Hello,

Happy to hear you figured out the earlier issue. As for the newsletter plugin, this really depends on what you are using to manage your newsletter. I know that MailChimp has a WordPress plugin that can be used as a shortcode and sidebar widget. Plugins might vary depending on how your newsletter is set up.

As for the twitter plugin, what do you mean with “so that the twitter time line appears in the prinicpal”? All I can say that there are many Twitter plugins out there that display your tweets or send posts to your Twitter timeline. Not sure which of the two you are trying to do.

The “Next time..” can be modified by going to the Theme Options > Front Page Header > Schedule & Subscribe > Preview Title. Simply change the text there.

I hope this answers all your questions, let me know if anything is unclear. I’d be happy to help.
