WordPress 5.0 has already come out! For when the theme update? I also want to know if I can update WordPress 5.0 with no problem?

SmartMag works with WordPress 5.0 but if you need to use shortcodes or pagebuilder, you have to install “Classic Editor” plugin or “Disable Gutenberg” plugin as they’re in Classic Editor only. You can upgrade without issues otherwise. But before you upgrade, be careful to do it on a test/staging site.
Our advice so far is to don’t upgrade yet and wait till January – there’s no urgency. 4.9.x version will continue to receive its own updates for years to come. Majority of WordPress plugins out there are incompatible yet and there can be troubles. As the most popular WordPress plugin dev says: https://yoast.com/should-you-update-to-wordpress-5-0/
As for special styles for Gutenberg, an update in Q1 2019 will introduce that. By default, only default styling is available. If you have any further questions, please create a topic at our Support Forums and our tech team will answer them better.

Добрый вечер. Я бы с удовольствием обновил тему, и заплатил – если бы вы оптимизировали ее для мобильных устройств. Тема которая сегодня не обновляется, провальная для выдачи в гугле. Поисковик ругается на ширину экрана в мобильной версии сайта, если это не исправить в ближейшем будущем то гугл просто вырежет из поиска весь трафик. Нужно что то делать, А уже конец года. И обновления нет ((( пример https://odesoftami.com/puteshestvie-vo-lvov-day2-03/ эта страница как минимум по двум критериям 1) ширина экрана больше чем нравится поисковику 2) кнопки и элементы интерактивные слишком близки друг к другу. Это очень важные замечания, прошу учесть это в будущем обновлении или просто люди уйдут на другие темы.

Will this theme still be updated ?
When I started my websire I had to choose between more themes. I choose SmartMag and I made a good choice. But, if I now look to another themes (like Newspapper, for example) they constantly get updated with more and more features.
Will this also happen with SmartMag ? Can we have a roadmap of what will happen or be improved or be added in the future ?
Wordpress 5 is comming. Will this be compatible.
The last updare was in May 2018. And that was a very small update.

Yes the theme will get next major release within Q1 ‘19 and as always there will be small releases on-need basis to fix compatibilities.
One thing we would like to clarify is that we are not going to follow the same model as some other themes. Our long-time buyers favor stability, and no-bloat whereas a theme with features added within core of the theme become bloated very quick. For instance, the CSS size of other themes is often even after max gzip is usually 150KB (1.3MB without) whereas SmartMag with 1-pass of gzip compression is 35KB. In current times where Google puts value on speed and first paint, we won’t be making SmartMag bloated like others.
The other major factor with our recurrent buyers is consistent stability. Making large feature updates usually require breaking changes which make it difficult for power users (who have customized programmatically) to upgrade to newer versions. So we tend to limit these massive major updates to 1 per year.
For WordPress 5, we have already tested it with current beta and it continues to work with Classic Editor plugin. A Gutenberg update will be available later.
In short, the theme will receive its next major update in first quarter of next year (smaller updates before that as-needed) and we’re open to all feedback – public roadmap is not yet available but you can ask at our forums for clues in a private topic. Adding thousands of features isn’t hard but we’re very picky to reduce bloat and keep it lightweight. We do read and consider all the feedback in the suggestions/feedback topic at the forums so please be sure to share any suggestions you might have.

Hello, what can be do to show up how often a article is shared ? Upside the Article are all buttons to share – but no sharing numbers. Our old Theme we tested all was fine and now nothing is showing :/ thanks

It’s been 2 hours that I’m looking for how to delete or modify the group of words “YOU ARE AT:” in “the breadcrumb trail of the TECH demo template” as well as “RELATED POSTS” in each post and “BROWSING:” in each category page ?
Everything else has been translated with Poedit but not these 3 words.

Hi Since updating Smartmag to v3.2.0, I am having trouble with the header. On the home page of my site, the header with my Advert in the widget area Header Right, display correctly. Now on a post page, I get the review section with star rating duplicated in ‘Header Right’ just underneath my Bunyard Advert widget.
Note – that I use the following additional plugins: WP Bakery Visual Composer, Revolution Slideshow, Static Blocks. I use a static block code within the Bunyard Advert widget, and this block contains a revolution slider. It worked fine until now.
Advice desperately needed as it look like the update broke my header in posts? I disable the advert and it starts working as it should but without the advert. There is some code somewhere in v3.2.0 that is different and causes the review section which should be at the bottom of posts to be duplicated in ‘Header Right’ widget area. Very frustrating.

Я так понимаю вы отвечаете только тем кто продлевает поддержку, расскажу свое недовольство odesoftami.com по поводу этой темы, за почти год пользования темой , я загрузил на сайт более 8095 фотогафий, ваша тема использует Retina плагин который вместо привычных 3х размеров делает из одной картинки 24 штуки!!!! это не шутка, за год я получил 8.9 гигабайт фотографий, я сжал этот обьем плагином на 30 процентов, но ! это невероятно большая цифра. Я бы рекомендовал откоректировать выдачу фото для темы, или разграничить это как то по необходимости ведь я настраиваю не все элементы значит мне не нужны все размеры которые сайт режит в автоматическом режиме!!! Личное пожелание на будещее. Сейчас мне приходится заказывать фикс для вашей темы у других разработчиков которые бы пофиксили этот баг! ведь через год мой сайт будет весить около 16 гигабайт! а это невообразимо много, учитывая что каждое фото оптимизированно и не более 150 килобайт! из за этого недочета мне не хочется подписыватся на поддержку этой темы в дальнейшем так как продавец не поддерживает продукт должным образом и отправляет всех по ссылке на форум который не работает и создать там вопрос не удается! покупайте только у проверенных продавцов читая коментарии тех кто уже купил.

When you have portrait view on an tablet the text is mostly covered and doesn’t move underneath the image in both columns. How can I fix this?

This is most likely caused by a plugin interfering with the CSS of page builder. Try to temporarily deactivate 3rd party plugins other than Bunyad and Sphere plugins to rule out a conflict. For further support, please create a topic at our Support Forums.

I have just purchased the theme, and I’m having an issue installing the necessary plugins for the page builder. It says “Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.”
