On the top of my Contact page, I now get a message from Google (maps) that says “This page can’t load google maps correctly”. I went to Salient > Contact and checked the coordinates and it’s all ok. The map is grayed-out and has “For development purposes only” written across it. How can I fix this, or just get rid of the map from displaying? Thanks.

Google maps changed their policies a little while ago to force users to provide payment information in order to use their service, you can read more about that here: https://forums.envato.com/t/important-changes-to-the-google-maps-platform/173357 Because of this, we added a new open source map option into the element. It’s called “leaflet” and you’ll see it when editing the element on a current version of the theme

Thank you. I have version 10.0.1 and don’t see “leaflet”. How do I disable the map from displaying in the Salient Options Panel (Contact section). “Resetting” just resets the options but the map still displays.

Edit the column holding your Nectar Slider, it looks like you have it set to hidden for mobile devices in the responsive options tab.
Thank you for the answer. Yes, you are right there is one row that is hidden for mobil, but there’s an other one made only for mobil, includes a video (in nectar slider) and that one is hidden for larger displays. Now the cash is renewed, so it shows the right video, but the size is not correct. I made a test page where it is good: www.mestertamas.com/test but not on the main homepage: www.mestertamas.com. Can you tell me what to change so it would display 16:9 as on the test page? Thank you

When editing the Nectar Slider element in the page builder, you can define a minimum height which the Slider won’t shrink under. If you set it to around 275, the mobile version should be as you desire

Hey Onemester, what iOS version are you testing on? iOS only supports video playback on v9 and higher https://webkit.org/blog/6784/new-video-policies-for-ios/ old versions will just see whatever is in the row (so you could set a BG image to fallback on)
iphone 8. Somehow, after a day everything is fine. But now an other issue showed up: I can’t upload big zip files, it gives me a http error. We already incrased the limit to 1Gb so that’s not it. Godaddy did that for me, changed something in the php but now it doesn’t seam to work. HELP, my album should come out today. Thanks
Hey Onemester, Salient doesn’t process zip uploads at all. Are you able to upload the file when switching to another theme temporarily? Also, please check your server PHP error log as it will contain more information about what the issue is
Ohh thank you I didn’t know that, cuz little zips can be uploaded, you can see it on my screenshot. Now all is well, I have uploaded by ftp. How can I increise the loading time to the website? I tried to tinyfi all the pics, and videos, I don’t know why it is still slow. I love the theme by the way, and appritiate your help! Thanks

If you have a “Header Box Shadow” set in the Salient options panel > header navigation tab, it should show in the material skin after you’ve scrolled down. The material skin hides the shadow when you’re at the top of the page and when using the “hide header until needed effect”. If you’re using the hide header until needed effect, add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:

Accent color is currently a yellow, but only for the blog post page I would like to change the colors of the following all to #ffa500:
- The cloud/highlight around “Social Media” tag above the Post Title Header - Social Sharing Button’s color - The cloud/highlight around “Submit Comment” in the “Leave Reply” area.
2) Also, would it be possible to remove/disable the following for a blog post page, and if so how:
- User profile picture above user name - Date posted - Comment area altogether

ThemeForest added a new tag now that WP 5.0 is here, Gutenberg is the same thing as the new block editor of WP 5.0. Salient has added styling for the elements, and supports it – However Salient is not switching over to the Gutenberg editor as its main page builder yet for a few reasons listed here: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/wordpress-5-0-update-guide/

It’s compatible with gutenberg, but I haven’t changed it to state it’s “optimized” because we haven’t done anything above what a default WP theme does with it

Hey crosslateral, that’s strange, I just doubled checked the .pot to verify it’s in there. You can also find the string directly in the template salient/includes/partials/footer/off-canvas-navigation.php
I am talking about WPBakery Page Builder, not the actual page icons. It looked slick and differentiated it from the standard ugliness you see on other themes. Its one of the reasons that I liked the theme as it made using VC easy. Now it looks terrible, tacky and I am constantly trying to find where I was on the page. Terrible UX. I don’t mind the load times and never had any issues with slowness. Maybe ask your customers next time if you are going to implement a massive UI change or add an option to revert to the old UI. The page builder now looks like all the other shit looking ones, great job guys.
Hey demsone, for v10 we did not change anything significant with the backend page builder other than the “add element” modal color scheme (from dark to light) and the addition of new element icons.

Are you referring to some other differences? If so, please elaborate further so I can understand more clearly. From your initial comment, you mentioned the icon color only, but now it appears there’s many other changes you’re experiencing
You don’t think those colour changes in 9 and 10 are not big? They are huge colour changes and it does effect the process.
Hey demsone, thanks for clarifying. Because the new page builder icons are based on a font rather than images, you can change the color globally for them with a single line of css. If you’d like to alter them back to blue for now, add this into the top of the file at salient/nectar/assets/css/nectar_meta.css

As of 9.0 we are no longer using that plugin and instead have a simplified custom script – the function name is still that from when we used to rely on that script
