Hi, How can I change header color to White on home page?

Hi You’d need to disable the transparent header option in Customize – Jobs Options – Jobs Home Page

Hello,

1) How to remove “Login to Bookmark this Job” option? I dont want this option to be displayed https://prnt.sc/m6owul

2) I am not able to update social media links on Icons on footer. How to update it or remove them as they are not working?

https://prnt.sc/m6oyu5

Hi

ad1. Disable the WP Job Manager Bookmarks add-on

ad2. You can do that in Appearance -> Theme Options

Thank you. Can you please suggest how to change homepage background image?

https://prnt.sc/m6thox

Hi, When I updated header background image then export it from local to server and changed all urls from local to server then header menu is disturbing I see a entry in wp_options table when value for theme_mods_workscout is this a:4:{i:0;b:0;s:18:”nav_menu_locations”;a:4:{s:7:”primary”;i:37;s:16:”default_customer”;i:0;s:8:”employer”;i:0;s:9:”candidate”;i:0;}s:18:”custom_css_post_id”;i:92;s:16:”background_image”;s:72:”http://localhost/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/banner-home-01.jpg”;} then header menu is right but image not shown because of local url when I change this url to server url then menu not worked and this option also not worked and this option for “theme_mods_workscout” become changed automatically to this a:1:{s:18:”custom_css_post_id”;i:92;}

Don’t change that value in database, just go to your Customize -> Background Image and set that image again.

Please consider renewing your support as your included support period has expired. That help us maintain the theme and develop it further. Many thanks!

Do you mean that changes done on localhost need to do again on server also from wp admin panel?

In most cases no, but if you’ve uploaded a background image and in this case it’s saved as direct link to image on your localhost, the easiest way would be to set it again (btw this is default Background option from WordPress Customizer, nothing from our theme). Check please https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

Hi there, I am just wondering why the customize theme page may not be working. I am changing URLS but can not understand what the issue might be here.

Its a non responsive return I get :(

Hi

Have you updated theme and everything else on your WordPress installation? (Including WordPress version). Latest WorkScout is 1.5.1.1

Hi Lukas,

Want to ask further questions, this is the screenshot https://prnt.sc/m5z4nd

1) I can’t change the information in the green box. How to do that? 2) I can’t change the social media link under that box too. However, I can change the one in the footer. 3) How to hide page title in the whole theme? Do I need extra plugin?

Thanks!

Hello again Lukas,

ad3. You mean the titlebar? add to CSS in Customise #titlebar { display: none; }

How about hiding title bar only in specific page?

Hi

regarding logo, have you manage to fix that? I don’t see such a problem now.

If you want to disable titlebar on specific pages, each page has option for that https://www.dropbox.com/s/sdyve9shxmfhhd8/Screenshot%202019-01-13%2011.46.54.png?dl=0

I see, thanks Lukas.

Yes, I managed to solved it after exploring some basic CSS course.

1. Does this theme change Wordpress standard files after installation or after theme configuration? 2. Or does this theme store all configurations within the theme folder or within the database? Thank you for your response.

Hi

ad1. I never heard of a theme that would change WordPress core files if that’s what you’re asking about. It for sure wouldn’t be accepted on ThemeForest

ad2. Generally in WordPress all kind of configurations are stored in database. I never heard of any theme doing differently.

Is it possible to view a job as PDF or as iFrame? Larger companies often have the job application prepared as PDF (they should be able to upload the PDF) or they do have a job application on their home page (so a link should be entered during job creation in WP. An example is here: https://bit.ly/2H8xg6W and https://bit.ly/2AD15H1

Of course these jobs have added criteria and are searchable via the search in WP too. Thank you your response.

There are no option to view job as PDF or iframe, but you can set “Apply for job” to redirect user to 3rd party website, there’s option for external link in Submit Job form

Hi, Why the sign up option is not working it’s showing You forgot about captcha here is the screenshot http://prntscr.com/m5nsbx

1) How can I sign-up (as employer & Candidate) and know password?

2) Try hitting Sign up button without entering anything. It goes thru and then again click Sign Up. It shows invalid error? how can we know Sign Up is successful ? It is not working

3) How can I login (as Employer or Candidate) and how would I know password for login? Where to setup password for Login? Login is not working

Hi

If possible try to switch to WooCommerce based registration (Customize -> Login/Registration Options), we have some bug with WorkScout registration and we’re working on a fix, sorry for any inconvenience caused

Hi, I have an issue with my site. Employer and candidate menus are not working. All users see the main menu, that is suppose to be shown for non-logged in users. Can you take a look at this?

Sincerely/ Matthias

Hi

You mean the Dashboard menu or the main menu in header?

Both, I have set the dashboard page to a Dashboard template, but nothing.

Nevermind, I solved it!

Hi, it’s been few days since I used your theme and it is amazing. Your support is also brilliant.

I have further questions: 1) How can I change the information in contact page? (the map, the right box information of address, the social media link, and changing the G+ icon with with Capitalized G)

2) How can I change the link inside each social media link below the footer?

3) Is there a way to add search bar in the header/menu bar? I found it more intuitive for job seekers if they want to search for many open vacancies. If not, can I change the main search bar with Algolia search? Perhaps, you can provide some guideline of line of code that I can change

4) What is the future product roadmap of this theme? I want to install a lot of plugins to step up the game, however, I feel that I will waste my time if it’s in your product roadmap. When will the new update being released?

Thanks Lukas!

Thank you!

ad1. The map marker can be set in Appearance -> Theme Options -> Contact, the right box is just a widget you can find in Appearance -> Widget assigned to contact sidebar.

ad2. it’s also In Appearance -> Theme Options

ad3. We don’t really have a place for this in header. Technically it probably is possible but it’s more complicated thing and not in theme support scope

ad4. This theme is regularly updated since 2015 and currently one of our main source of income so we’re not planning to abandon it anytime soon ;) We don’t have any longterm roadmap, we try to react to what people need and if there are requests for some changes/updates we try to provide it. What plugins are you planing to install? The thing with WorkScout is that this is theme for WP Job Manager and it’s add-ons which means that at anytime you can switch to any other WPJM compatible theme without any problem, all you content and main functionality will stay the same.

Hi, when I share a job on Facebook through the button, the post with the link has as image the transparent logo I use for the site. How I can change the image? Thank you.

Hi

try this plugin if you want to have more control over it https://wordpress.org/plugins/wonderm00ns-simple-facebook-open-graph-tags/

HI, Thank you. This plugin It works only for Google+ unfortunately. FB Sharing Debugger shows that these 2 values are missing : og:image, fb:app_id are missing. Can you support with that, please? Any help for the same issue with LinkedIn? Thank you in advance.

Hi

that plugin is supposed to add those tags like og:image. fb:app_id is not needed. og:image in case of job listing should be a company logo as this is set as post thumbnail of a job listing

I’m stunned at how bad the form editing is on this theme (for example, the Job Submission form). I’m using Wordpress so I don’t have do deal with editing code. So, why would something as simple as editing a form require me to edit code? Is there any plan to do an update that makes this more straight forward?

This theme is made for WP Job Manager, it’s merely a visual layer for the functionality provided by those plugins. Editing fields is explained here https://wpjobmanager.com/document/editing-job-submission-fields/ and there is a tool called WP Job Manager Field Editor which you can use to edit those forms.

Hi. Could you tell me where (in what file) can I make “Job Region” field to be optional on “Post a Job” page: https://workscout.in/post-a-job/ . I’ve managed to find how to “play” with all other fields on this page, but I can’t find where “Job Region” field can be changed…

Hi

edit file plugins/wp-job-manager-locations/includes/class-template.php line 77, change ‘required’ => true, to false

Can I change the Employer and Candidate dashboard menu orders to alphebetical?

Hey, this has not worked unfortunately.

Sorry, the comment formatting messed it up and replace two dashes with one long, try again with
.woocommerce-MyAccount-navigation-link--payment-methods { display: none; }

Seems to have worked, thank you :D

Hey, how do I change Resume to CV across the whole site?

Yes that’s right :) thanks

Right there are only a few bits that just will not change, On the browse resumes/CVs page at the top in the title section, I cannot change Showing All Resumes to Showing all CVs, It shows CV for a second then changes back?

then also the number of Resumes showing bit, I cannot get that to work at all. Any ideas for me? I am using the plug in mentioned above?

Hi

the whole string for that text is ’’We have %s resumes in our database’ and ‘Showing all resumes’ – have you changed that as this?

trying to restrict search results to one county like UK makes no changes to map, even is I try to set a long/lat also makes no difference as this portal will be uk based.

regards

greg

It doesn’t make change to map, only to address autosuggestion dropdown

So how would I show just map of UK or is this not possible.

Regards

Greg

Google Map API doesn’t have option to show just map of one country. The map adjust to the markers it displays, so if you’ll have only jobs in UK you will see map of UK, but users will always be able to drag map around and see other countries

Hi, I want to reoder my Candidate Dashboard.

As shown in the picture https://prnt.sc/m4qmvl

The candidate dashboard contain default sidebar menu which shortcoded from WooAccount, I want to remove that.

I want to recreate my candidate dashboard to contain Bookmarks, Job Alerts, and Resume Table in the same place.

Could you please provide me a stripped down code line of only the resume tables?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

here’s explained how to control those menus http://www.docs.purethemes.net/workscout/knowledge-base/user-dashboard-navigation/

the table is a result of [candidate-dashboard] shortcode on that page

Hello,

I understand that, thanks.

However, what do I mean is that I want only the code for the tables in green line as shown in the screenshot.

I want to merge the theme dashboard with Ultimate member (https://ultimatemember.com/) dashboard

This table comes from Resume Manager add-on, there’s no “stripdown code line” to show it other than the [candidate-dashboard] shortcode

Hello, I think I may have come across two minor glitches/bugs with the account sign-in functionality. I am currently using Workscout 1.5.1 and noticed them both on my Post A Job page. I don’t recall seeing these glitches on the previous Workscout 1.5.08 version.

1. First, I noticed a single character “w” that appears right above the notification div container which contains the message such as “Welcome to… You are currently signed in as…”. This “w” appears whether I am signed in or not. Since I couldn’t find anything that might cause the it to appear from the WordPress backend, I eventually tracked down the culprit to a file within theme: /workscout/job_manager/account-signin.php.

There in Line 1, at the very beginning is a “w” before the php code:

w<?php if ( is_user_logged_in() ) : ?>

I assume once this “w” is removed, this should fix this glitch.

2. While signed in, the notification text has a “Sign in” text link that appears immediately to the right of the welcome message. This text link should not be showing up while signed in and would normally be rendered as a text button floating right within the notification div container when logged out.

When I inspect the “Sign in” text link:

<a class="small-dialog popup-with-zoom-anim" href="#login-dialog">Sign in</a>

I think this might be triggered by new code added to account-signin.php.

I hope I have explained clearly what I have found and you are able to confirm whether these are legitimate bugs that can be addresses.

Regards, Frank

Hi Frank

yes, sorry, the account-signin.php is bugged. I’ll be uploading a quick fix for that in a moment, sorry for any inconvenience caused

Thank you. For the quick fix, would it be a matter of uploading the updated account-signin.php file? Or were more files edited requiring to update the entire Workscout folder?

Yes, only that file was updated, so you can just replace it

purethemes,
in the backend am I able to customize and add new Jobseeker, Employer, Job Post fields?

Do you think we can make an image gallery with this plugin also?

hmm I see alot of the Plugins are paid plugins and not included like Job Career Theme on here

You won’t be able to use ACF to customize it, and yes, this is a theme for WP Job Manager, the add-ons are not included, you have to buy them separately
