make sure you have the “Clayton Demo Importer Plugin” installed. If you don’t, go to Clayton > Install Plugins” in the WordPress admin and install it from there.

Once you’ve done that, import the demo you’d like to have by going to Clayton > Demo content, in the WordPress admin and install the demo content from there.

the starting index of the carousel is 0 based, so 0 is intended to be the default value, if you place 2 for example, the carousel will start with the third image centered in the screen.

Concerning the row gallery, can you please describe better what do you mean with “is slow” and what you think is better to do in order to improve it?

Concerning the slider/carousel functionality with the mouse wheel currently the carousel (flickity js plugin) and the lightbox slider (photoswipe js plugin) are not supporting the mouse scroll to advance since they are gesture based components. We will further investigate if we can find a way to implement a custom mouse scroll functionality.

i gotta say that for my purposes (image gallery based displays, management, and organization) clayton really does the trick with a minimum of fuss and bother ….

THE ROW GALLERY

its got to be fixed up, its way too slow …

the example gallery displays many images but i don’t even know how many (i gave up scrolling) ...

i want to move left to right at a reasonable speed …

at the moment (using 1.7) the user can only go left to right with the mouse wheel and its a painfully slow experience …

i tried to scroll with the keyboard but this was not possible …

the quick way to see all the images is to click an image into the slider and work from there …

concerning the gesture based components, you can interact with these elements using gesture like with your mouse, for example, you can do the same action you usually do with your finger for swipe left or right with your mouse, you can view the page of the plugin we use for the carousel here -> https://flickity.metafizzy.co/

yes of course, the theme allows you to choose the image size to be used in every context (carousel, grid and so on) and still have the full image in the lightbox download button.

1. really strange, we have tested the theme on the same Safari version and everything seems to work fine, have you tried to disable all the external plugin (like recaptcha) to see if is a plugin conflict maybe?

2. where are you adding these captions? because there is a bug in the WordPress gallery block that erase all the captions added in directly in the block when you update images in the gallery editing modal.
