I’m using marni to create a website in spanish: how can I replace the placeholder text “search here…” ? thanks
Hey there, thanks for purchasing Marni!
You can find the instructions on how to translate any text in the theme in the FAQ of the documentation: http://www.files.red-sun-design.com/marni/readme/readme.html#faq_help
Alternatively you can also use a plugin, like for example Loco translate: https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/
Cheers!
thanks!
Sorry to bother you again, but I looked at Loco translate, and there is nothing to translate within the marni template. And still, it seems like the search placeholder was modified from “Search…” to “Search here…”. Any suggestions?
Did you follow the instructions in the Beginner’s guide on how to work with Loco translate? https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/beginners Make sure to follow step 6: Add a new language – you will then see all text strings for the theme. You can then in the field “Filter translations” search for any text string.
For further questions, please get in touch via the support tab above. It will be easier to communicate via Email so I can send screenshots etc.
Cheers!
Which plugins need to be installed to use Marni? and which plugins are those plugins not compatible with?
Hey there!
You can find a list of required and recommended plugins in the documentation under Getting Started > Required plugins:
http://www.files.red-sun-design.com/marni/readme/readme.html#gettingstarted_help
There aren’t any plugins in particular that don’t work with Marni.
Cheers!
Hi
I’m thinking of buying this theme and just wanted to know whether a “Pin It” button over images is included or supported?
Thanks!
Hey there, thanks for you interest in Marni!
There is a Pinterest button in the share section of each post (along with the share on facebook, twitter and email button) but a a Pin It button over images is not included in the theme, you would have to add a plugin for that, for example one of these: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/pin+it/
Cheers!
Hello, using theme here: http://reneerushbrook.com/tribalflame/ but the cart top right icon is not linking to cart page, and when on the cart when calculate shipping, and press button UPDATE the page reloads blank. issue still present without plugins activated, and when activate parent theme- what is this issue?
Hey there, thanks for purchasing Marni!
This sounds like your cart page may not be set up properly.
Would you please go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Page setup and check if you’ve selected a page as your cart page? More info here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/
Cheers!
thanks
that fixed the cart icon link issue.. 2 new issues have come up: 1. the shipping calculator is just saying ‘no options available’ but there are options set up for that region. the other issue is that the pages with full background image – the images are blurry on mobile, please see this link: http://reneerushbrook.com/tribalflame/contact/
Hi!
1. blurry images:
Please try the following: Go to Appearance > Customize > Media and turn off the “Add custom responsive image markup” switch. Maybe this helps?
2. WooCommerce issue:
As Marni only provides the styles for the WooCommerce plugin but no functionality, I recommend you to check the WooCommerce documentation:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/documentation/plugins/woocommerce/getting-started/shipping/
or ask your question in the WooCommerce support forum:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/
or contact WooCommerce Help Desk:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-get-help/
Cheers!
this has not fixed the issue, it looks bad on mobile having this blurry. also, removing the background on images option from the backend does not work either, the Images still loaded on mobile when I tried to use this option…
Ok, please go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and enter the following code:
.ismobile .page-fullbg {
background-attachment: scroll;
background-repeat: repeat;
}
this has fixed issue on mobile
thankyou
great!
you’re welcome!
hello, this css fix above fixed the issue on the contact page but still having the issue on other pages: http://tribalflame.com.au/about-tribal-flame-products/ can you please provide a fix for this?
hello just checking in for an update?
Hey there!
The image on this page has a size of only 1403×933px, which is not big enough to use as a background image.
On retina displays, this image is only big enough for screens with a width of 701px. For larger screens, the image will get stretched an pixelated.
I recommend using a bigger image.
Cheers!
hello, I tried the same image at double the dimensions of height and width -> same issue.. I then tried a huge retina image 6000px x 4000px … same issue. the issue is not the image. it is some mobile manipulation happening. it needs to be fixed right away, please take a second look and I am awaiting your solution.
the background I no longer fixed on scroll either – which forces the image to load bigger than it would require for the fixed scroll background.
Hey there!
It seems that the problem on your page was that you had a lot of content on your page and the image got stretched too much and got blurry.
But I see you already found a custom solution by giving the content a fixed height and set it to scroll within the content container…
Hi! I love your theme. I’ve tried the One Click Demo Import but it says no data on page. Would you be able to help me import Theme 1 into my wordpress?
Hey there,
thanks for purchasing Marni! It’s great to hear you like the theme
Yes sure! Simply get in touch via the support tab above and send me your link and login info and I’ll help you set up your site.
Cheers!
hello, I am using demo 3, but would like to use demo 2 front page as my blog page -http://marni.redsun.design/demo2/ does it have a shortcode, or can you send me the page as code to be added as a template?
Hey there, thanks for purchasing Marni!
Well the blog page actually IS the front page. All your blog posts are displaying on the front page.
You can change the layout for the front page and the archive pages (category, tag, author, search,..) separately and you can do that in Appearance > Customize > Layout > Home and Appearance > Customize > Layout > Archives.
Demo 2 for example uses the List Post Layout. Here is a video that explains how to change the layout for the home and archive pages: https://youtu.be/uLJYENnImQw
Please know that the slider can only be displayed on the front page.
I hope this explanation helps, please let me know if you have any more questions!
Hello there, does this work with themeco on wordpress?
Hey there! Thanks for your interest in Marni.
What is themeco? A plugin?
Cheers!
Hi, thanks for this lovely theme. I wonder how I can set up a slider on a static page. I don’t seem to have an option there? Thanks for helping!
Hey there, thanks for purchasing Marni!
I’m glad to hear you like the theme
Yes, I’m very sorry but the slider can actually only be displayed on the home page. You could for example use a slider plugin if you wanted to create sliders for static pages: https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/search/slider/
Cheers!
Hi, I bought the Marni theme and I am very happy with it! One question: is it possible to have 2 different logos for the header: one for the desktop version and another one on mobile? Thanks!
Hey there!
Thanks for purchasing Marni, it’s great to hear you like the theme
I’m very sorry but Marni doesn’t include an option to display different logos for desktop and mobile.
If this is super important to you, you can hire me to create a custom solution (child theme) for you. Simply get in touch via the support tab above.
Cheers!
Purchased this theme, having a couple issues with it as it can be difficult to setup correctly if not done right. My main issue is the fact that I keep getting an API error with the instagram install? Wont even let me install it….
Hey there, thanks for purchasing Marni!
I just found out that the Instagram plugin was closed for a short period of time, more info here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/this-plugin-was-closed-on-january-30-2019-and-is-no-longer-available-for-downlo/
But it seems like it should work again now, I just tried downloading it. Would you please try again to install it?
Cheers, Gerda
Hey! I got this theme for a client on an account i created for them. I’m using the WPML for translate the theme but I cannot translate the Shop FrontPage. Can you help me?
Hey there! Would you please send me your link and login info via the support tab above? I’ll take a look at the issue. Cheers!
Hi there! I saw the code for removing the page title for ALL pages. Is there a code for removing the page title for ONLY THE HOMEPAGE?
Thank you in advance. I am LOVING the theme so much!
Hey there,
thanks for purchasing Marni! It’s great to hear you love the theme
The homepage doesn’t show a title by default, so I’m assuming you are using a static page as homepage instead of displaying all blog posts?
You can hide the page title for a specific page by using the following CSS code and replacing 123 with the page’s ID (in your case the page ID of the page that you are using as the homepage)
(how to find the page ID: https://www.competethemes.com/blog/find-page-id/ )
.page-id-123 .page-title {
display: none;
}
Cheers!
Hi Red-sun, the number of views is still showing after I uncheck it for both home slider and single post setting. Please check the “support ticket” message. Thanks.
Hey there! It seems that turning the views on and off again and then clicking “Publish” solved this problem for other users who had the same issue. I will fix this problem in the next update.
Hello guys, first of all an amazing template! Great job.
I just have a couple of questions: first is there a way how to reduce the size of the picture in the post? https://www.onesecondjournal.com/2018/12/02/oman-the-land-of-1001-nights/ It is huge because of the recommended width.
Same goes for the Thumbnails: https://www.onesecondjournal.com/category/destinations/countries/oman/
Last but not least I somehow cant get rif of the sidebar. Ist that a bug? Because I selected the fullwidth option but nothing happens.
Thanks for the support!
Hey there, thanks for purchasing Marni!
I’m glad to hear you like the theme
As you can select the layout for each post individually, for this post I would recommend to use the layout “Right Sidebar” or “Right Sidebar Below Title”, that way the Featured Image will display way smaller. If you don’t want to use the sidebar, you can select the layout “Fullwidth Page Narrow” (See here for all options: http://www.files.red-sun-design.com/marni/readme/readme.html#posts_help )
As for the Thumbnails in the Archives view, you could for example select the “Masonry”, “Grid Post” or “List Post” layout in Appearance > Customize > Layout > Archives > Archives Layout.
You can deactivate the sidebar for the Home Page (in Appearance > Customize > Layout > Home) , Archive Pages (in Appearance > Customize > Layout > Archives) and Single Posts (when you edit each post) individually.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the quick help! I did not expect such a quick reply. Is it also possible to add the sidebar in a Floating right post? http://marni.redsun.design/demo2/2017/07/03/but-first-coffee-a-gift-guide-for-coffee-lovers/ I tried to add the sidebar below the picture but it does not work. Second do you plan to enable sidebars for pages in the future? Thanks again for the great support and template. Loving it.
No I’m sorry, the floating thumbnail layout does not have an option to add the sidebar.
The theme actually already includes a page template that displays a sidebar, simply select the template “Page with Sidebar”: http://www.files.red-sun-design.com/marni/readme/readme.html#pages_help
Hello Red-sun, again thanks for the quick support. No problem at all. I tried the post “Wide Image with Overlay Text” now. This one has the sidebar and on the bottom there is an option to also have it without a sidebar. Unfortunately the option is not working. Currently I use the no sidebar option but it still displays the sidebar. Is there a way to fix it? You can see it here: https://www.onesecondjournal.com/destinations/cities/cape-town/the-sport-capital-of-africa-cape-town/
Hi! Sorry for the late reply, I got so busy around xmas… When you edit this post, right below the Featured Image field where you selected “Widescreen + Overlay Title” there is a field called Layout. Here you can select the “Fullwidth Page (No Sidebar) layout. Cheers!
Hi, no worries at all I was pretty busy too. Hence i just saw your message. I still did not manage to solve the issue. I work with Gutenberg so the layout is on the bottom under the lovation tab. But even so in the layout tab there is no option to select Widescreen + Overlay, I just duplicated the former post from your provided template. And if i select the No sidebar (fullwidth page) option nothing changes. See the previous link. Do you know what the issue might be?
Hey there! I fixed this issue (missing meta boxes in Gutenberg) in update 1.07. If you are using an older version, please update the theme. Here is the changelog: http://www.files.red-sun-design.com/marni/readme/readme.html#filesinfo_help
Thanks again for the feedback but unfortunately the Meta Boxes to chose the Marni post types are still not there and unfortunately it is still impossible to get rid of the sidebar in the Wide image with overlay text post. Sorry for the inconvenience. I updated to 1.08. And my Wordpress is also up to date

Hi!
Is your Meta Box plugin up to date as well?
You can temporarily use the Classic Editor instead of Gutenberg editor to make the boxes appear and you can use Classic Editor plugin for that: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/
If you get in touch via the support tab above and send me your link and login info, I’ll take a look at the problem.
com respeito a traduções para outros idiomas . Gostaria de saber mais a respeito
Hey there! Marni includes translation files to translate the theme into other languages. You can find the instructions in the documentation of the theme: http://www.files.red-sun-design.com/marni/readme/readme.html#faq_help
Translated with Google Translator:

Hi there, i have purchased this theme and really love its eye-catching design. I just setup my blog through this theme but then i astonished to see that my blog is not displaying properly on Safari browser version 5 (latest version) for Windows. After that i check your theme on Safari browser version 5 for Windows and came to know that your theme is not displaying properly on Safari latest version for Windows. Also few elements of this theme is not working on IE11. Please let me know how to sort out this issue. I’m about to launch my site, so please reply ASAP. Any of your help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Hey there, thanks for purchasing Marni! I’m glad to hear you like the design
As for IE11: What version of the theme are you using? I fixed the IE11 issues in the latest version 1.06.
As for Safari for Windows: Apple does not support Safari for Windows any more. I found this information for you: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204416
“Apple no longer offers Safari updates for Windows. Safari 5.1.7 for Windows was the last version made for Windows, and it is now outdated.”
Safari 5 was released in 2010 which means it hasn’t been updated in 8 years! https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Safari Therefore I am not gonna fix any issues for Safari for Windows either and I recommend you to start using a different browser because it is not safe to use an outdated browser and eventually all websites will just not look right anymore using Safari on Windows.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers!
Thanks for your message, I have updated theme to latest version 1.06 but still its not displaying properly on internet explorer 11. Please let me know how can i resolve that. Hope to hear from you soon.
Ok, would you please get in touch via the support tab, send me a link to your site and let me know exactly what issue you see. Thank you!
Hi, I love the theme but I have a question. Is it possible to have borders around the posts like this website: https://www.fashionlush.com/ ? Thank you in advance!
Hey there!
I’m glad to hear you love the theme
I’m sorry, the theme does not include an option to add this kind of border. But if you wish you can hire me for theme customisation and I can make a child theme with this added feature for you. If you are interested, please get in touch via the support tab.
Cheers!
Hello,
I just purchased this amazing website theme. How do I create the pages in the footer in Demo 2 ? And how do I make them appear in the main menu please ?
Hey there, thanks for purchasing Marni!
Those pages, like “lifestyle”, “travel” etc. are actually categories. Category pages can be added to the menu in Appearance > Menus, then look for the “Categories” box on the left side, select any category and click “Add to Menu.
Hope this helps!

Hello, thanks for the amazing theme! Loving it. Quick question – is it possible to set a responsive text size for featured box title? Just as we can modify the post title’s text size in Appearance > Customize > Typography > Responsive Typography. My website now looks quite wrong in mobile since the featured box letters are huge and goes straight down long. Pls kindly help, thanks!
Hey there,
thanks for purchasing Marni, so great to hear you love the theme
Yes I am aware of the problem and I am planning on adding the Featured Boxes titles to the Responsive Typography section in the Customizer in an upcoming update.
Until then I can give you some CSS code that you can add into Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.
Would you please send me a link to your site (here or via the support tab above) so I can give you the proper CSS code?
Cheers!
