Hi

I am using Shop Demo 13. I am reporting a bug after updating one of the plugins.

I updated the theme to v4.11.3 first, reloaded and everything was initially fine. Then I manually updated WPBakery update from v5.7 to v6.0.1, which was the one found in the theme’s plugin subfolder. After updating WPBakery composer, something changed on the home page large tiled banners just under the menu.

On the left-hand side is a sliding banner with two images and text. The text has changed in size and position after the update.

Please find a screenshot to show you the text “UP TO 50% OFF, NEW COLLECTION” has changed size and changed position within the banner along with the button.

I know that WPBakery plugin authors updated from v6.0.2 shortly after the v6.0.1 update, but this is not available with your latest theme.

Please, can you investigate your end and test Porto Shop demo 13 with WPBakery composer v6.0.1 and confirm that this caused an issue, and if so, please supply me with the latest version or fix the problem?

Please download the very latest version of the plugin 6.0.2 from this article: https://smartwave.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000007851--12-latest-wp-bakery-visual-composer-and-ultimate-addons-for-visual-composer-and-slider-revolution
then Login into your WP-Dashboard, Go to Plugins and delete the old version of the plugin and Install the latest one on your site and check your site after removing the browser cache.

Regarding the Style of the Banner Text, This has been set using Custom CSS, after updating the plugin, Please edit your home page you will find all the Custom CSS set under WP Bakery CSS Option as showing in this screenshot: https://pasteboard.co/IgK9pH0.png
as showing in the given screenshot you have to cut all the CSS from there and paste it at the very bottom of the page under CSS option as showing in this screenshot: https://pasteboard.co/IgK9KyO.png

Thanks for your quick response and the fix. Appreciated.

I updated WPBakery Composer. Removing the custom css from WPBakery’s css area and placing it in the themes area fixed the problem. What I would like to know is… why have you disabled the default area for custom css and replaced it with the theme’s own area? This seems like extra unnecessary bulk code that adds to the amount of memory the theme is taking up. Why fix a problem that did not exist in the first place? There will be a lot of people using your theme that won’t realise that they now need to do this. All that extra code and for what exactly? more memory is taken up by the theme and the theme taking longer to load.

This additional CSS area seems like bulkware to me. I would prefer it if I could turn this feature off and leave the CSS where it was originally, to be honest.

This is because you have translated the Theme language files into the Italian language, Please edit the po file of the Italian language and finds and change the translation as per your requirements and then generate the mo file from the po file and replace both at the same place and it will work for you, Please see this screenshot: https://pasteboard.co/IgK1Xy3.png

And as showing in the above-given screenshot, this word is coming from wp-content/themes/porto/inc/functions/layout/breadcrumbs.php file.

No, you can not use this option with theme. This Options is only work with the WP default themes like twenty sixteen and others.

To show the excerpt, you can use only Theme Options >> Blog & Post Archives >> Enable the Show Excerpt option.

I want to build a website and webshop for a (single) fashion store of a friend of mine. I am not an advanced builder of websites. I think your template and Shopkeeper are both very good options. Shopkeeper seems to be more targeted to webshops (and fashion), with more possibilities for this niche? However you seem to mention some other things which sound very useful. A very direct question but I would highly appreciate to get more insight: Why would I choose Porto and not Shopkeeper?
