How can I put the job listings on my home page? Is there a shortcode for this? I’d like to create a row with this content: http://tinyurl.com/y6b7sbce

I found the shortcode now. Is there anywhere a documentation how I can modify that module? [jobs show_filters=”false” show_description=”false” per_page=”4”] I mean there is certain parameters in that shortcode. Do you have a doc that explains all that and shows all options I have?

Hi

You can use WPBakery Page Builder and add Jobs (WPJM) element to show jobs, or check https://wpjobmanager.com/document/shortcode-reference/#section-1

PRE-SALES: I’d like to use this theme to create a site that offers multiple listing types, not just jobs. I’m imagining that I would use some of the WPJM add-ons in order to create fields for the new listing types, as well as modify the existing job and resume listing types. That said: (1) is a multiple listing site possible with WPJM and this theme? MyListing theme offer this - they were originally built with WPJM, and have gone to custom code. My preference is to use your theme and WPJM. (2) can I add additional user types, beyond employer and candidate? (3) if yes to question #2, can I associate people with companies - now that can be done with job posts, but if new listing types are added, how could that work?

Yes of course, it’s a taxonomy in WordPress

Cool. What about perked and privileges? Are those also able to be added, removed and modified easily?

What do you mean by “perked and privileges”?

Fantastic site speed: I already left a review but want to share this with you and the people who are interested in this theme: The theme has an extraordinary great performance. It is probably the fastest WP themes I have ever used (bought like 20 themes in the past 5 years). Congrats on that! :) I don’t even need a caching plugin for it. Cheers Florian

Thank you!

Hi, I want to use this theme in China market. But google map is not available in China. SO is it possible to use other map service such as BaiDu? How to do it? Do you provide any customize service for it?

Hi, unfortunately only Google Maps are supported at this moment

Hi! :) If a candidate buys a wc product that does not feature his profile and he then wants to upgrade to a wc product that features his profile, does he have to create a new profile then or will his existing profile be updated with the richer possibilities of the new wc product? Cheers Florian

Ok, thanks. What exactly do you mean by “renew”?

If listing is set to expire (it’s optional) user can renew it in his dashboard. If it’s paid listing, he can use different product to “pay” for it.

Thanks. Got it.

How can I make my jobs appear in google jobs ?

Check https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/job-posting – In the end it’s up to Google. WP Job Manager adds a schema for job post but you also need to fill the required data

When will be the next update finally released? This version does not work well with Wordpress 5.x. The update was promised to June 2019 and is overdue, expired, failing Javascript etc.

Hi

Yes you can, just download the OptionTree from https://github.com/valendesigns/option-tree and put it in your workscout/option-tree to overwrite old files. As for Gutenberg we don’t have compatibility with that as we use WPBakery Page Builder and we advise disabling Gutenberg for now. Sorry for delays but it’s vacations period and we’re also swamped with support request

Also please consider changing your review. We don’t have Gutenberg support and it’s clearly shown in item description, and the ‘outdated’ libraries you mentioned we already talked about. WordPress doesn’t use latest jQuery, it’s not loaded from theme but from WordPress core. I admit the update for OptionTree is taking too long but we wanted to add more things to that. Thank you.

As to update and why it takes longer that it should – we wanted to implement new front-end dashboard and push update with all those features at once.

Here’s dashboard: http://www.vasterad.com/themes/workscout_2019/dashboard.html

Kindly please change your review at elast till update.

What are these stars for? http://tinyurl.com/y3zyeddr They are not clickable. Do they have any purpose and if no, can I hide them somehow?

When you click Bearbaiten you should have a dropdown to rate the application, it’s then displayed there

I see. :) Thanks!

The theme seems not to be compatible with the plugin WP Fastest Cache. Can you confirm this? You can’t log in as a user in the frontend when the plugin is activated.

I don’t use that plugin but I’ve seen it couple times on our users websites, I’m pretty sure it can be avoided with properly configured, probably the login part can be excluded https://www.wpfastestcache.com/features/exclude-page/

PRE-SALES: do you provide any data-migration services from one WP Theme to yours? There are a lot of customizations in the current theme mainly related to things like after the first company registration our digital team builds and activate company profile page and other things. Are there possible in your theme?

Hi

I’m afraid it’s not and we don’t offer services like that.

Hi,

Is it possible to customize the layout of the packages in the job submission process when using job manager along with WC paid listings? They are currently showing as a list with radio buttons but I’d prefer to have the woocommerce layout, is that possible?

thank you!

Hi

technically it is but we don’t have such option at this moment, so that would require custom modification

Hi is it possible to sort the regions in a custom order? I have continents and countries: right now they display in the dropdown with the continent followed by its countries ordered alphabetically. What I’d like is to have all the continents first and then all the countries listed alphabetically. Thanks

And what do you mean by “you buy test themes from GPL sites” – so you basically pay someone else who “stole” our theme and all he does is offer a copy of our work for money? Sounds like a great business, I’ll have to pivot my company.

Good morning, guys.

I would like to know if there is any way I can modify the message on the “My account” page. If there is no way to avoid that page, I would at least like to modify the message. How can I do that? I mean the one that says: “From your account dashboard you can view your recent orders, manage your shipping and billing addresses and edit your password and account details”.

I’d like to ask another question that I think could help everyone. How could I modify the creation of page titles for individual job openings so that the page title includes the location of the offer?

So that you can see what I’m talking about you can see this link: https://www.totaljobs.com/job/general-ledger-accountant/scisys-job87134144 As you can see who published the offer only wrote: “General Ledger Accountant” but the Page Title is actually: “General Ledger Accountant in Chippenham (SN14)”.

This is something that all employment platforms do, even create predetermined meta descriptions. It would be helpful if you could give us some guidance on how we can do that. Thank you very much and have a nice day!

Thank you! I had just done it with Yoast when I saw your answer. Again, thank you

Hi again guys, I tried to change the structure of the permanent links on the web so that the URL would include the category, for example: www.myjobs/job/ category-name / london-writter I made the change according to the advice of the plugin documentation: https://wpjobmanager.com/document/tutorial-changing-the-job-slugpermalink/ The problem is that when I click on a job offer I get a 404 page. Can you tell me how to solve this problem? What could be causing the error? Thank you!

Have you tried going to Settings -> Permalinks, and just clicking Save there without any changes in that screen?

Hi, a couple more questions: 1) Is it possible to change the job types on the job list page from a checklist to a multi-select dropdown exactly like the categories? 2) If not, is it possible to have all the job types in the checklist UNselected by default? at the moment, a user has to unselect all the ones they are not interested in; 3) when using the “Add alert” button, is it possible to have the alert set-up already pre-populated with the filters that had been selected on the job lists page? Basically the same behaviour that exists on the single job page when you click ‘alert me to jobs like this’ ?THANKS!!!

Hi

ad1. No it isn’t

ad2.. No it isn’t, it’s how the WP Job Manager does that, we don’t control it in theme. having that unchecked would hide all jobs from the list that have that job type assigned

ad3. I’ll check it but afaik it’s not possible.

Hi, thanks for your replies: 1) ok; 2) I understand but surely for the categories, that logic does exist, so I would presume we could also apply it to the types? ie essentially make the ‘boxes unchecked’ be equivalent to ‘no filter’? I’ll ask the wp job manager people as well 3)ok thank you

It’s not that easy and like I said, controlled by WPJM

I’m curious about a small flaw in the purchase/package set-up: if an employer buys a package (eg 1 job listed for 30days), posts a job, then waits until day 29 and deletes the job, it seems their package is reset and they can again post a job for 30 days. Is there a way around that?

sure I understand. I’ll post it as an issue to wp job manager but thought you might have some more pull to get an answer from them given your position. I think this would affect most of your users, not just me.

For anyone else who might be curious about this, I got an answer from wp job manager and there is a built-in ‘grace period’ of 3 days

Thanks for sharing!

Hello, Is there any reason not to answer my questions? I contacted you through the support form and comments, but I have not received a response. Other people have written comments after me and you have already answered them.

Sorry, I just replied, this account is handled by more than one person and not all of us can reply to all questions, especially if they are a bit more technical, so that’s why some users get their answer first :)

one more question: when using the regions plugin, there are two distinct behaviours: 1) on the job list page, it helpfully has a text/search box that searches among all the regions 2) on the job submit page there is only the dropdown. How can I get the text/search box on the job submission page as well? The reason is that if you have thousands of cities in your regions, it’s impractical to scroll down through all the options.

thanks!

you’re absolutely right, I was testing with fewer regions. Thanks. It turns out this is still not a viable option for thousands of locations as it slows down the page load massively (if you know anyway to speed that up that doesn’t impact function I’m all ears!)

If you will have thousands of locations/items in dropdown then yes it might be an issue but we didn’t have that kind of case. Dynamically loaded results would be required but WorkScout doesn’t have anything like that built-in so a bit custom development would be required.

ok, thanks

Hi! Is there any easy way to make a button created with VC (orange button) look like the other buttons (green buttons)? http://tinyurl.com/y3k5j8w2

Thanks, but I mean the entire style: background color, font weight, ... I want the button to look exactly like the other green buttons. Can you give me some class or some custom css styling so that the buttons match each other?

Please send us message using this form: https://themeforest.net/item/workscout-job-board-wordpress-theme/13591801/support

with link to your website and admin login&password if possible

I did. Thanks for the offer! :)

Hi, I recently bought your theme and I was very happy with the purchase until I found several major problems. I pose them to you in the hope that you can help me.

1- The new job offers that are published do not have a button to apply.

2- In the mobile version you don’t see part of the header image or the phrase that indicates the number of jobs published. Also in the mobile version the first icon that appears after the header image, does not have the link working. In the desktop version the link works.

3- When a user registers, he is automatically directed to the Account Page. What can I do so that when a user registers, he goes to the Dashboard? In “Login/Registration options” I activated the option “user page to candidate (and employer) Dashboard redirect” but it didn’t work correctly. I don’t sell anything now and only use Woocommerce for registration.

4- In the dashboards menus appear several options related to sales. I created new menus for candidates and employers but the options of the new menus appear plus the ones that already existed related to Woocommerce. I just want the options decided by me to appear from the menu. How could I eliminate the rest of the options?

I apologize for so many questions, but this is an important project and it urges me. Thank you!

Hi

ad1. To have apply button, you need to provide email or url in the field “Application email/URL:” or have the Applications add-on

ad2. I don’t see that happening on our demo, can you share link to your site?

ad3. It doesn’t work from the popup form, only from static page (it’s being reworked now)

ad4. Please check http://www.docs.purethemes.net/workscout/knowledge-base/user-dashboard-navigation/ – and FYI, as admin you see both menus at once

Okay, thanks for your answer. I will send you the URL through the support form. Have a nice day.

hi when will the major updates as mentioned be available?

The update will be in few parts, first one should be tomorrow, this update will replace OptionTree with CMB2 to make it PHP 7.3 compatible
