Please note that the latest Pressville version (1.9.0) came with some changes to person posts template files, so if you by any chance did some code customization (via child theme), make sure those theme changes are not affecting your custom code. Do not do what you tell me to see the error in the php. I have not made any noticeable change in the code, I think everything comes from the update. The facebook links introduced in the person’s happiness do not work either. I know I have no maintenance but it is not fair that this update of the template affects my content in that way.
It is already solved, I only had to update the plugin of people that, I do not know because no active Lsvr plugin was updated. Thank you anyway.

I updated my theme from 1.8 to 1.9. Now, when I click on a person, none of the info entered is displayed. No custom text, no address, phone, etc.
Also, when I click on Elected Officials and then my Mayor link, I am unable to select any other menus across the top of my page.
I can privately send you my site address if needed, but you can figure it out from my email address.
I think I fixed it by updating the plugins.

We’re trying to set up a Google Map on our page, under the Directory Listings, but the map won’t load. I can confirm that we’ve got the right Google API Key entered, and we can confirm that the Key works when we set up a map on a jsfiddle site. I’m not sure how to troubleshoot this. Any suggestions?

I don’t have the “pressville category” of blocks available when I am editing a page. I was an elementor user before this, would that affect whether I see the pressville category?
I have activated the pressville theme and have the pressville toolkit activated as a plug in. Do I need to deactivate Elementor? I have added Gutenberg as a plug in as well.

Elementor shouldn’t have any effect over the Gutenberg functionality (I have it activated on my dev site myself and have no issues with Gutenberg categories not showing), but deactivating it is worth a try of course. Do you see “LSVR Elements” and “LSVR Widgets” categories?
Also, what do you mean you’ve added Gutenberg as plugin? Gutenberg is integrated in WordPress 5 and newer, you definitely do not have to (and shouldn’t) install it as a separate plugin. Are you using the latest WordPress version?
You can also try to add elements as shortcodes (see the list), to see if the front-end output will be a standard element or just a code, just to see if that works.
Anyway, I will be off computer for the whole day today, but if you won’t be able to solve it, just send me your admin access via PM and I will take a look at it as soon as possible (make sure you are using the latest version of the theme – 1.9.0, the latest version of the WordPress – 5.2 and running PHP 5.6 or higher before you send me the PM please).

Using Elementor, the LSVR widgets are available, but the only Pressville widget I have available is “Pressville Weather”. I loaded the Gutenberg plug in because when I am using Wordpress as an editor, I didnt see the interface buttons for adding blocks that are mentioned in the Pressville userguide. Loading the Gutenberg plugin didnt help, so I have deactivated it. I have just started to set up my home page following the guidelines of the Pressville user manual. I tried adding the Pressville sidebar as shortcode on my home page, and it doesnt show anything.
I am using version 5.2.2 of Word press.

what do you mean by “I do not place them in Elementor,”? Those elements are not available in the Elementor, because the Elementor itself is not supported by the theme, however you can still insert them via shortcodes.

I guess I know what the issue is. It seems you’ve set a Featured Image for your front page which creates some unexpected CSS conflicts. I will fix it in the next update, meanwhile, just remove the Featured Image. If you did it to have more control over the position of your front page header background, just let me know and I can give you some CSS which you can use instead.

Anyway, the problem is with your Google API settings, it has nothing to do with the theme, so even if you had a valid support, I can’t help you with this one as the support covers only theme related issues.

it depends of the context where exactly this line appears, but many strings are part of the LSVR plugins. So you should translate not just the theme, but LSVR plugins as well. It is covered in the documentation.

Is there any way to extend the width of the text for the top menu, the one just above the main menu? I have just a few links on it but on smaller screens it jumps it down to two lines even though there is still plenty of space. I don’t need it to take up the entire bar, just looking to widen the space allowed a little more. Hopefully that makes sense but can post a pic of what I mean if needed, thank you!

Is there a charge from Google for the way this theme uses the API? It’s a bit confusing.
Google did some major changes to their API last year, so you may be required to add your billing info. Please do some googling about this topic, there are plenty of articles about it out there. The thing is, this has nothing to do with the theme itself. You would have to do it with any theme which uses Google Maps. Of course, you can use the theme without the Google Maps feature.
I understand that it isn’t related to your theme, but your theme makes calls using the API. Some API calls are free, most are not. What specific type of call does the theme make? I can find out from there if there is a charge I suppose.
Geocoding is probably the most demanding. However you can use latitude and longitude fields instead of exact address (for example when creating a new directory listing) to basically avoid this type of call.
Hello, I updated from 1.6.0 to 1.8.0 and all the settings under Appearance / Customize / Colors (or even Header, Footer, Posts, etc…) are the all the same even after the update. However, the styling of the pages (front page, posts, menu, header, footer) has changed. For example, there is an overlay on the header image but even when toggling between 0 to 100, there is no changes in overlay opacity. Could you please assist?
Sorry, I figured it out. I had to delete the Child theme (which I guess I don’t need because I wasn’t making use of the Child theme). But with deleting the child theme and now working off the 1.8.0 parent theme, I had to re-enter my settings under Appearance / Customize. Will I have to do this every time we update the parent theme? Or is this why I do need the child theme?
Also, I thought this needed more in-depth support and I just purchased support until Dec 15, 2019. Could I please get a refund for this?

you should definitely keep the child theme active, even if you think you do not need it. What you’ve experienced sounds like some kind of weird issue, but since you’ve already sorted it out, I can’t tell what was wrong. If it will happen again in the future, share your URL so I can take a look. Generally, you are not supposed to remove, deactivate or even update the child theme once you initially activate it. That would go against its purpose.

Also, before an update, please read the changelog from your current version up to the latest one. There may be some important changes which require you to do something in the admin after an update for your site to function correctly.
I guess I know what the issue was in your case. There was a change in how the default color scheme works which required you to re-save the chosen scheme in Customizer. It was mentioned in the changelog.
Thank you. Comparing the site with 1.6.0 (with child theme) and then with the 1.8.0 (with child theme deleted and then all the settings updated in Customizer to fit settings in 1.6.0) I now see that the sites are identical.
I am happy with the site now because it matches everything prior. But with that: 1. Can I move forward without the child theme in all future versions or updates of the theme; and 2. Do I have to work on the settings in Customizer every time the parent theme is updated since now I am working without a child theme?

1.) yes, but again, there is NO reason not to use the child theme. This is what probably caused your issue after the update (taken from the changelog):
If you are using the default (Red & Blue) predefined color scheme, then once you update the theme, go to Appearance / Customize / Colors, make sure the "Choose Predefined Skin" is set to "Default" and save your settings. If you are having any issues with the color scheme, try to switch to any other scheme, save it and then switch back to "Default" and save it again.
So switch to child theme, reset your color scheme as mentioned above and I am sure it will be fixed. The child theme itself is NOT a problem.
2.) No, you will have to set them again only if you switch between themes, but again, just use the child theme and you have nothing to worry about, because child theme will not be updated at all.
Thank you. I do understand the need for the child theme and I actually have child theme in all other WP projects I use. But I found that the child theme was causing the issue. Unfortunately, the issue is not what you identified from the changelog because it was a custom color scheme. But I found that the problem is that with the child theme activated, no changes made in the Customizer were being saved or published (i.e., changes in overlay opacity on header image was not working). Only when I deactivated the child theme did the Customizer work. I will try this again this weekend. The site right now is where I would like it to be, the only thing is without the child theme. But I will try to install and activate the child theme to see if I can replicate the issue.
What you are describing is of course not a normal behaviour and you are so far the first buyer reporting this. Anyway, if it wasn’t the color scheme, my guess is that it will be something similar. Try to reset each radio, checkbox and select option in the Customizer (change it to any other value, save and then change it back again). If it won’t help, then try to reset your Customizer settings via this plugin. If still no luck, activate the WP debug mode. This could display an error message either in the Customizer or on the front-end, if it does, share it with me. The child theme has to be active during all of this stuff mentioned above.
The bottom line is that deactivating the child theme is not a proper solution. I am 100% sure this will be some small odd issue which can be easily fixed.

As a continuation of this thread, since v 1.8.0, I have only worked with the parent theme because it was the child theme that was giving me issues for some reason. I have been working without the child theme for the last 3 months and now when updating the theme (parent only) to 1.10.0, I see no issues with the theme update. The styling, fonts, everything on the site prior to updating to 1.0.0 is there even after the update. However, ONLY when uploading and activating the child theme do I see changes in style (header image, fonts, colors, etc.) Since it seems that this is only happening with the child theme and when uploading and activating the parent theme only results in no issues, would this be ok? If I really do have to activate the child theme, I think I need your support to review the site and login to the site. What is your best recommendation?
Options under Appearance / Customize are saved per theme. Child theme is considered as a different theme in this context. So if you switch to a child theme, it is expected that you have to re-set them again. I’ve already gave you some things to try in my previous reply. Have you tried all of them?

In case the parent theme updates (both 1.10.0 and any future theme updates) are ok and cause no issues to the site, it means that no changes were made to the core files or design/functions of the site that required a child theme to begin with. If I am happy with the current set up of the site without the child theme, can I continue to use parent theme only? I would be happy to renew support if you required child theme and can take a look at what may be happening?
Have you tried resetting customizer settings via this plugin (with child theme activated)? Anyway, of course you can keep using it without a child theme. Please do some research on what is the purpose of the WordPress child theme. If you do not have any need for that, just do not use it. I do recommend using it, but I also can’t really help you with your issue as it seems so it is how it is.

One more thing you can do is to create your own child theme. You can just copy the Pressville child theme and rename it, it is like a minute of work to do. Or do it from the scratch as per the article above. There are also many articles online how to do it, it is not a theme-specific topic.

it really depends what do you mean by integrating. Theme uses its own classes for stuff like grid and basic elements, so if you simply load Bootstrap CSS and JS files, there should not be any sort of conflict. If you share your URL where I can see how does it alter the design, I may give you some hints on what is wrong, however please note that customization is not included in the support.

First, you have this CSS in your child theme:
.header-titlebar--large { height: 200px; }
You should use top and bottom paddings if you need to change header’s height.
Second, this one, also in your child theme:
.header-titlebar__inner { top: 100px; }
Once I’ve disabled those two definitions, the header looked alright. However, those have nothing to do with the Bootstrap, those are your own custom CSS.
My code works fine. The problem happened when I added the Bootstrap libraries. Now I will remove those libraries and the home page will look good. Look at it.
Honestly I don’t know why it is doing that, it doesn’t really make sense since again, the theme does not uses any classes which could conflict with the Bootstrap (as far as I am aware of). Try to use object inspector of your browser, maybe you will find what is causing it. Customizaiton is not included in the support, so I can’t really help you with that unfortunately.

I want to reuse the directory plugin for another section of my page. Now I have it as an offices directory, but I want to have another like it but for my warehouse directory. I want to have two directories in two different pages. In other words, I want to use the same plugin twice.
I understand, however that would require some very advanced code customization and you will have to hire a developer for something like that. You will have to copy and rename the original plugin, rename all its functions to avoid conflicts and do the same with all the directory related files and functions inside the theme itself. A LOT of work.
