Hello! I want to create a city portal and add the businesses located in my city. I was wondering if it is possible only me to add them?

Hey there,

Relating to your question here, yes you can have the businesses only added by you.

The other question is if its possible to make users to my client so they can log in to the website and have something like a dashboard where they can edit/add information about their business? So for example… company for furniture want to add them in my website, so I create the business and generate them a user/pass so they can log in and add/edit the info for their business

Can I set custom options in the plans and make them visible on businesses page? For example: Promotions, open job positions, etc. ? Also I was wondering if I can set expire period for a business? For example.. if someone pays 10$ to get their business visible.. to set this like an annual tax?

With the booking feature, Right now it looks like you just select a day and pay. Does it block out slots that are booked already and can you block certain slots? Also does it have an option to book by time of day instead of just booking the day.

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in.

Bookings are handled by the WooCommerce Bookings plugin. With the plugin, you can avoid double bookings as well as have bookings by time.

Please let us know if you have any mroe questions.

Hello Listify team, I would like to have the ‘search’ button in the front page to be located in the center. How do you do it?

description of my question: I won’t be using the search engine in the front page. When I deleted the search engine using customization widget tab, the ‘search’ button is still placed on the right side (as if the search engine is still there) which makes it look very awkward. Can I place the button in the center?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Hello, at November 8, 2018 (11:25 am), I created a ticket for a bug in the preview page of a new listing : added photos are not displayed and we can not add them again. The support replied that an update would be made, but the problem is still there since. Can you give me any news please. Cordially.

Hey there,

Sorry about this issue.

I will follow up on this issue. In the meantime, I would recommend on using the Listify: Photo Gallery Slider widget within the listing sidebar.

Apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Hello, great this tip works well! Thank you for your reply.

I also find several bugs at the research level, for example, the field “what are you looking for” keeps in memory the first word entered, and the following searches are thus skewed…

Are you informed about this problem? It also exists on Listify’s online demo (https://listify-demos.astoundify.com/classic/).

Thank you very much, we are waiting for the resolution of this problem to put our project online ;-).

Hey there,

Thanks for keeping in touch.

This was actually an issue from the Wp Job Manager plugin not the theme.

Hi, we are looking to buy a directory theme in the coming week. Your theme looks really good and with a lot of potentials. I have a quick question before deciding on this. Does this theme support or plan to support sub categories? E.g if we have “Education” as main category, with its icon on the hompage, once clicked, is it possible to see sub categories for Education (E,g Creche, High School, Business Schools, pre-nursery etc).all under education as sub categories with their icons or images, then if a user wants to see listing for only creche, he can click on creche sub category and see only creche listings.

Same for event listings etc.

Please let me know if this is possible.

Thank you.

Hey there,

Thanks for showing interest in our theme.

In reference to your question here, at this point, listing categories will render the respective listings associated with that category, if selected, not the subcategories. If a user also selects a subcategory, listings associated with that subcategory will be rendered.

I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if you have any questions on this.

I want to buy the theme but most of people who bought seems unhappy, can you share what are the features in new update and will you setup demo on my site if i will buy and provide you admin password on wordpress?

Hey there,

Thanks for showing interest in our theme.

In relation to your question on the features in the forthcoming update, unfortunately as it currently stands I may not be in a position to provide you with an official documentation on all the features to be included. However, we are actually focusing on adding some new features as well as improving on the overall design, to make it more up to date. As for the demo install, this can be accomplished from the Getting Started section as outlined within this article, in a few clicks. However, if you encounter any challenges in the demo install, you can always open a support ticket and we will be glad to assist you in the import process.

Please feel free to reach out, in case you have any more questions.

Hello Astoundify,

Firstly I have found Astoundify support to be pretty unhelpful and can hardly call it ‘support’. My questions are always deflected, it’s frustrating.

So I am trying a different approach, by posting my question here.

I am using Listify with both predefined regions and extended location.

Essentially I do not want featured listings to be ‘sticky’ and weighted at the top. I want featured listings to have equal weighting to normal listings.

The snippet provided by wp job manager to do this works (https://wpjobmanager.com/document/prevent-featured-jobs-from-being-sticky/) well for predefined regions, but it doesn’t work when searching listings sorted by proximity (by default, for example when using the locate me button or inputting an address).

Please please please, turn my opinion around on your support by pointing me in the right direction. A functions.php snippet would be much appreciated, or even if you could tell me where in the code that this sorting functionality is managed.

A prompt reply would be much appreciated.

After more digging, I found that geolocation_search() controls this in wp-content/themes/listify/inc/integrations/wp-job-manager/map/class-wp-job-manager-map.php

if ( apply_filters( ‘listify_feature_listings_in_location_search’, true ) ) { $args‘orderby’ = ”$wpdb->posts.menu_order ASC”; }

Is there something I can add to functions.php to augment this?

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi, Is there an option to make a user’s profile public—e.g. shows their bookmarks and reviews left for other listings?

Br, Ronald

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in.

In relation to your question here, I’m afraid the theme does not provide such an option by default. It would entail some custom work. Unfortunately, we don’t provide custom work right now. However, we are partnered with and highly recommend Envato Studio or Codeable If you need help customizing your theme.

Hello, I’m really enjoying the extent of this theme. Right now I’m trying to adjust the mobile responsive breakpoints so the sidebar, for instance, doesn’t crowd the content on pages when viewed on mobile phones in landscape view.

I understand I can completely show and hide the sidebar in blog posts, but I would rather keep it. Can you point me in the right direction? Thank you!

Hi there I am looking for a listing theme for an Airbnb..like site, and yours might just be the right one. A couple of questions though, if theme supports it out-of-the-box or supports third party plugins: 1. Can I charge commissions from seller? 2. Can I setup subscriptions?

Cheers

Also I need to be able to charge the buyer a deposit for reservation and then complete the payment later on. YITH has some plugins for that, but is that supported by this theme?

Hey there,

In relation to your questions here:

1.

Using the WooCommerce Product Vendors plugin you can assign the Commission You can read further here: Getting Started with Product Vendor

2. Yes this is possible using the WooCommerce Subscriptions

3. Unfortunately this is not a feature provided by the theme. If you will be using the WooCommerce Bookings plugin, it would be best to consult their team on the best approach to this.

I hope this answers to your questions.

Thanks. In your documentation your are also referring to WC Vendors? Can I use both? I think WC vendors has better options and look better (frontend dashboard). Your article here: https://listify.astoundify.com/article/511-how-does-a-listing-owner-get-paid-out-when-a-product-booking-is-purchased-on-their-listing

hi, can I customize this theme to use it for shopping (like alibaba)? each business owner can signup for free or paid membership and then he can list his products on my website

Hey there,

In respect to your question here, yes this is actually possible. You will need the LIsting Payments plugin as well as the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin if you wish them to be subscription-based.

I hope this answers your question.

Pre-sales question… We’re very close to buying your theme and plugins:

Looking at your documentation, all looks good, however I’d like for vendors to be able to set their availability dates and maximum slots from the ‘add listing’ front-end. These functionalities are part of the woocommerce bookings plugin.

From what I can see, they can only add a product. Obviously, with bookable products, extra information is required:

Under ‘General’:

Booking duration

Calendar Display mode

Requires Confirmation

Can be cancelled

Under ‘Availability’:

Max bookings per block

Minimum block bookable * into the future

Maximum block bookable * into the future

Require a buffer period of

Adjacent Buffering?

All dates are (available/unavailable) by default

Check rules against (all blocks being booked, The stating block only)

Restrict selectable days

And of course the date ranges.

With your theme and plugins, is it possible to achieve this? Obviously, for any business selling time-based products, like a hotel or pet-sitting service, information like ‘availability’ is vital.

Thanks!

Hey there,

In relation to your question here, yes these would be possible, but mainly involve the WooCommerce Bookings and Product Vendors plugin. With the Product Vendors plugin, you can have users assigned a vendor role. This will enable theme have create and manage bookable products by accessing a limited WordPress backend. Once this is done, they can then easily assign their products to the listings.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

The listing feature/cover image is not displaying when previewing the listing during the submission work flow – will this be fixed in next update?

Anyone else have this issue?

It’ll also be cool if Astoundify could address a bug with their recaptcha plugin for Listify https://wordpress.org/support/topic/recaptcha-not-showing-on-registration-popup/

Relating to the recaptcha query on AJAX powered forms, unfortunately the recaptcha cannot be used in conjunction with the popup.

Hi, Before buying the theme I would like to ask these questions: 1) if google my business already exists, which utility has a directory theme? 2) Why should anyone with an activity be interested in paying to be present in the directory if they already have google my business? Thank you

Hey there,

In referenced to your questions here, our theme is not specifically meant for one business listing display. Users can add multiple businesses and have all these businesses render their desired content.

With the theme as well as other additional plugins that can be purchased separately, users may also implement features such as bookings, a messaging system between the business/listing owner and their customer(S), depending on the nature of their business directory.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi,

I would like to use this theme to book “activities” so here are my questions : - Can I delete check out date ? since activities are done in one date - Can I add hours to book ? so potentiel users can book a date + time slot ? - Can add price per time slot ? - Can create multiple types offers for each “properties” : offer 1 for 2h offer 2 for 3h… etc (and each offer has a price)

Thank you, Best

Hey there,

Relating to your questions here, you will need the WooCommerce Bookings plugin to achieve most of these functionalities. With the plugin, you can set custom availability settings to include hours and custom date ranges. Here is an article on this: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/bookings-create-custom-availability-date-hours-range/

I hope this helps.
