You can add extra fields in the backend of the system, but how can you publish them on the frontend in a listing. Do you need to change the php file for that and do you have to put that php file in a child theme then?

You will need to edit the relevant template files in order to render the newly added meta boxes to the frontend, and it would be recommended for you to use the child theme for doing so, in order to not have the changes overridden by every update of the theme files.

Hello! We have been using the search and go theme but the last months we do have excessive billing from Google regarding the Google Maps usage. Our site uses a large number of listings (each one with its own google map). Is there any solution/alternative to decrease the related cost with the maps usage? Please advice. Thank you.

Hello, Yes I know that. What I was asking is if there is a way in the structure of the theme to make less use of Google Maps. Also: - Are the simple Dynamic Maps compatible with the theme listings? Now I use the embed advanced maps - Is the theme compatible only with Google maps? there are other solutions as well Thank you
I apologize for the misunderstanding.
There is no option within the theme for this. We use the google services for geolocation so that the addresses that you input into the listings get pinned automatically.
If you’d still like to change the maps you could try to disable the maps and input images using WP Bakery Page builder in their stead.

Google’s map services are no longer free. However they do offer monthly credit of $200 for certain services including google maps. You can read more about that here.
Also, please make sure you follow this guide in creating the API Key.
If you’re having trouble setting this up some customers have had success with using this plugin.

As for listing purchases, we have created our own plugin Elated Listings that allows only for purchases via Paypal.

Hi, I have managed to change the label ‘Amenities’ on the search result pages to ‘Services’ using Loco Translate plugin. But this has not changed the label on the submit a listing screen https://pasteboard.co/ItzJWiS.png. Could you suggest a way to do this if possible.

Many thanks for your reply and suggested methods. It is much appreciated. Just on the OpenTable query… would be best for us to remove this field completely when a user is submitting a listing. Only that we have adapted the directory for agency submissions and this option might be confusing when people are entering details. We are overall very happy with this theme and will recommend for design, functionality and support. Well done!!

the function for the open table id field starts at line 294.

Thanks’s for that.. have people been able to modify this theme for use as business directory… For example can the ‘Amenities’ search checkboxes in advanced search be changed to “Services” for example. Really like the design so want to adapt for an Agency directory rather than places/locations. If you think this will be possible we can update our support. Many thanks

Just download a fresh copy of the theme and then install it. After that re-install all required plugins. The latest version of WP Bakery Page Builder comes with 2.4 version of this theme.
So to update it you need to update the theme and then just reinstall the plugin (uninstall current version and install it again from the message box which will appear). In this way you will be able to install latest included version (6.0.3).
