Hi, I am using the Salient theme for my website, and I want to install an online job application feature… I tried using wp job manager plugin yet it is not compatible… Do you know a better plugin for job applications?

I just tried to update my Salient theme from 10.5.3 to 11.0.1 and it was quite the mess. I had to revert back to a safe restore, as many of the pages would load for three seconds and then display a blank screen.
I tried to deactivate all plugins, reset permalinks, update all theme plugins, clear the cache. And nothing seemed to work. Quite odd. Everything is back to normal now, on version 10.5.3. No rush to update; however, will eventually need to.

From what I observed, they are specific things. One is the Post Grid, which has some options I can’t translate.
Hey KglspwPD109, the post grid element strings are contained within the salient-core text domain, within the “salient-core” plugin directory. Did you try looking there yet?
Yes, I got into the “salient-core” and it still didn’t work out.
Because there is no option “read” or “load more” to translate.
That is, I still have the same problem, unable to translate these elements.
What to do? Can you help me?

On the most recent version, the date seems to be missing from ‘Recent Post’ ‘element no matter how I set the options.

I was using ‘Default’., but Minimal and Minimal Title Only also do not have dates. The only two that have dates are Classic Enhanced and Classic Enhanced Alt.
To be clear, I have this inside of Carousel Anything element.

Hey MarcGarner, that option only ensures that the columns themselves are equal height, not the elements within the columns. If you add a BG color to the columns, you’ll see what I mean. To get the fancy box elements to all have the same height, you would need to specific a minimum height of the same value in each instance. e.g. 350

Hey rolldigo, are you using the nectar_salient_strings.pot file in locotranslate? If not, in Loco Translate > Themes > Salient > Advanced you can set the path to the .pot file. For the Template file field use “lang/nectar_salient_strings.pot”
I inserted this and it is appearing “Error: Translation set not known in Salient”

Hello. when choosing “Enable WooCommerce Cart In Nav”, when clicking the cart in nav it adds ”/en/”between my domain and cart in the URL. (instead of taking to www.mysite.com/cart | it takes to www,mysite.com/en/cart) how can I change that? thanks!

Hello! There are no translation lines in the new version of the Salient theme (11). e.g. “previous project”, “next project” (prev / next portfolio single page function), “view”, “load more”, “read” (mouse indicator, pagination on post grid block). please fix it or tell how to fix it yourself (I looked through the po editor – there are no lines in the standard translation files. “so what” plugin also does not help).

As of v10.5, strings that are specific to a plugin with be contained within the plugin text domain.
“Previous project” and “Next project” are stored within salient-portfolio, the mouse indicator strings (read, view) are stored within the salient-core domain

Hello, Is it possible to include feature image to Recent Post- Style Minimal Title only? And also change the font, title Size of same. Or add featured image to Style Minimal and remove description text? Hope you can help.
Hey salvix, if you use the “List with featured first row” style and set the number of posts equal to the number of columns used, you can get the layout you’re looking for without doing any custom development. The excerpt text can then also be removed by add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:

After updating to version 11.0.1 we’ve had some bizarre issues where you can’t see the mobile menu on specific iPhone models and specific browser states (incognito vs standard).
Right now the mobile menu icon/button is invisible on:
1) iPhone XS running up to date Chrome browser – standard mode 2) iPhone XS Max running up to date Chrome browser – standard mode
The button cannot be interacted with what-so-ever, so it rules out something like a CSS color-same-as-background conflict etc.
Thoughts? We have a lot of web dev firepower on our team but have been really puzzled by a few bugs like this after 11.0.1.
(we will extend support and log as a public ticket on your support site but in the meantime wanted to ask here)

Thanks ufancards, I just attempted to recreate this issue on both the iPhone XS & iPhone XS MAX using Chrome and Safari but have not been able to see it occur yet. I checked using browserstack.com as well which also does not show the issue:

Thanks for checking into this. The intermittent nature of our problems has been the most confusing thing. Which of course makes you think “cache” right? But we’ll empty our caches EXHAUSTIVELY, disabled the ‘Auto Optimize’ wordpress plugin, and things are better. Then we’ll check it the next day at the office and the issue will be back for us on empty caches. Just super frustrating.
Since your screenshots show it, maybe you can shed light on this:
1) the “in-phone” video there is sitting on top of the PNG frame for you, but for us it plays appropriately, beneath the PNG frame. On the same devices and browsers as you >:-o I’ve only seen that issue on Safari on Macbook Pro 2014.

It looks like you have that image set as a BG on the container. Since the video is inside of it, weird stacking order issues like this could occur. You could ensure that does not happen if you set the image like so instead of how you currently have it:

Hi guys. I’m mucking around with a “Night Mode” plugin and I’m wondering if it’s possible to switch the header logo between the light and dark versions just with CSS?
I have a separate stylesheet for night mode that I can add a class to everything, is there a way I can make something like:
.nightmode-on .dark-logo { display: none; } .nightmode-on .light-logo { display: block; }
(these aren’t the right classes for the logo, but I think you know what I mean?)
