it is activated, says theme is up to date but it’s previous version. can i download and manually upload? im using a child theme, can i just update the parent or do i need to reinstall a child theme also?

im also working on a mega menu, is there a way to set the headers without it linking to any page? for now, im just creating custom links under menu and not linking to any page..is there a more proper way to do this? (for ex, 4 pages listed under header About, About doesnt have a page). How do I get/create my menu to look like the Mega menu in demo, as vertical submenu items under headers?

2.) news slider on the demo homepage was created using the Pressville Posts block. That has nothing to do with the Customizer. Homepage is a regular page built using the block editor / page builder.

There are no LSVR People widgets on that page. That is a person detail page. If you want to hide a thumbnail there use this CSS code:

You are using some kind of 3rd party icons library which is overriding default icons CSS (ekiticons.css is causing it).

Strange, why so, one picture takes from one place, other from another,no settings, except for the key, I did not do…

Those are not regular images. Those are SVG icons defined via CSS. That 3rd party icons library is loaded from the elementskit plugin. The bottom line is that this is not a theme’s fault so there is nothing I can do with it.

The thing is that those icons shouldn’t be missing, they should be replaced by icons from that plugin. But I can’t tell you why it is not the case.

That is unfortunately not possible. It is still the same page technically.

Well, everything can be custom coded. I don’t really see how completely switching a theme would be any easier than paying few bucks to a developer who will be able to implement different title for past events (this particular customization can’t take more than hour to any competent dev). Unless you are generally not happy with theme of course and having more issues then this one

The thing is that I can’t do this customization for you, since customizatin is not included in the support. But I can give you at least some hints though: You can use “lsvr_pressville_main_header_title” hook to override the title. Basically, you just need to check if you are on the event archive page and if the period=past argument is in the current GET variable. Again, very basic stuff for a competent WP developer, so if you decide to hire one, make sure to share this hint with him.

Well, good try, but the code is wrong and it contains errors, that’s why it blanks your page. It looks like some general piece of code from some online forum without taking specifics of the theme into account.

Put this code into your child theme after “Add your code after this comment” comment:

Yes, into functions.php in your child theme. You can keep the title under Customize / Events, that has nothing to do with thit code. That field will still be used for default archive title.

There is no such file as template-parts/lsvr_event/archive-header.php. Are you using the latest version of the theme? Do you have that file in your child theme? If yes, then it means you did some kind of code customization in the past and you need to update all your child theme template files you’ve modified to the current version as per the parent theme. The 2.0 update affected a lot of template files, please read the complete changelog for more info.

i last updated to parent version 2.0.4. yes, that was in my child theme. Just updated the parent theme to 2.0.5. was told i don’t need to update child theme at any time? will check all the child files and update, thanks.

I didn’t mean that kind of update. I meant to check your child theme template files against the parent theme ones and update each file separately if needed. However, if you’ve already updated the child theme as whole, then it means all your code customizations are gone. The good thing is that if you now put that code into your child theme’s functions.php file, it should work since there shouldn’t be any old template files interfering now.

Please note that customization is not included in the support, I highly advice you to hire a developer to put everything in place.

Updated the parent in WP (downloaded and uploaded thru ftp too in case), uploaded a fresh child theme, doublechecked the files and added the code you provided. been at this for hrs. Glad you’ve sorted it out. Make sure to always keep the theme up to date. Usually you do not have to update the child theme, this was a very specific situation (you still didn’t had to update the child theme, just update/remove any possible outdated template files it contained).

after all that, client wants upcoming and past events on one page, not necessarily separated. is there a way to have all events show on the Events page? as of now past events dont show, only upcoming dates.
