Hi,
Is there a way to have this ripple effect play button http://og1.c14.myftpupload.com/video-test/ be used also on image play button?
Thanks
Hey toolbox101, placing that effect on another arbitrary element would require copying the styles for the element and modifying them to fit with your new element.
Can you please give the full css, i’ll do modifications myself, when I try to copy it looks like i miss a css rule or something it does not come out right.
Hey toolbox101,
.nectar-video-box .nectar_video_lightbox:before {
.nectar-video-box .nectar_video_lightbox:before,
.nectar-video-box .nectar_video_lightbox:after {
width: 50px;
height: 50px;
left: 50%;
top: 50%;
z-index: -1;
position: absolute;
display: block;
content: '';
border: 1px solid #ff1053;
border-radius: 50%;
animation: pulse-2 2.6s cubic-bezier(.25,.9,.2,1) 0.4s infinite;
}
.nectar-video-box .nectar_video_lightbox:after {
animation: pulse-2 2.6s cubic-bezier(.25,.9,.2,1) 0s infinite
}
}
I am thinking of increasing the width on mobile devices by adjusting
@media only screen and (max-width: 690px) .container{ max-width:320px}
I was thinking to change it to for example 90%. But I assume there is a reason you choose 320px? Is there something against using a more dynamic 90% solution?
Hey dzineee,
Some elements which rely on full width calculations in javascript are expecting a px value. However, it would depend on your specific setup.
Cheers
Is there any way to now which elements? Do you have a list or recomendations where to look?
320px seems quite a massive limit, especially with some phones going up to 600px (that is a lot of white space). Is there a way to make it more dynamic while including the max-width in pixels?
@media only screen and (min-width: 400px) and (max-width: 690px) {
body .container {
max-width: 400px;
}}
Can I find these exact jumps somewhere?
So it’s:
320px (up to 479px) ; and 420px (up to 999px); and full width (?). Or there more steps?
So I could also add steps like this? That would make it quite long though.. Is the percentage option not a better way to go? Is there a way to find out which rules would be affected by changing from fix px width to %?
@media only screen and (min-width: 420px) and (max-width: 520px) { body .container { max-width: 400px; }}
@media only screen and (min-width: 520px) and (max-width: 620px) { body .container { max-width: 500px; }}
@media only screen and (min-width: 620px) and (max-width: 720px) { body .container { max-width: 600px; }}
Hey dzineee,
There’s also a tablet portrait width of 600px which is used when the device is 690px – 1000px. If you open the salient/css/responsive.css file, all the media queries are visible in there.
Hello, is this theme in active development or just maintenance?
Hey wbutton, the next major release is right around the corner
If you’d like to get in on the beta test, please reach out in regards via

Is there any way to put the filters in woocommerce under a tab?
So if you have a product/archive page, there are expandable filters at the top. Also there is a ‘sort by’ dropdown menu.
Ideally I would like to put those horizontally next to each other, which would save tons of space.
So you would get
SORT BY \/ ||| FILTER
Sort by would be a dropdown (as is). Filter would either pop out a menu (like the collapse menu) or it would allow the filters to show up.
Hey dzineee, that would require some custom development, but I did respond to your other comment in regards to altering the mobile order.
Cheers
Thank you for thinking along with me. Are you also available for custom development in these kind of cases?
Hey dzineee,
Unfortunately I’m not personally available for freelance projects. However, you could find someone through Envato Studio in regards
Hide breadcrump on mobile archive pages.
Hi there, is there a way to hide the breadcrump on category/archive pages? It’s taking too much space for now so would like to remove it.
Suggested code?
‘ /** * Remove breadcrumbs on specific pages */ add_action( ‘init’, ‘wcc_remove_woo_wc_breadcrumbs’ ); function wcc_remove_woo_wc_breadcrumbs() { if ( is_product_category() ) { remove_action( ‘woo_main_before’, ‘woo_display_breadcrumbs’, 10 ); } } ‘
ey dzineee, It could be handled with CSS:
@media only screen and (max-width: 1000px) {
.woocommerce .woocommerce-breadcrumb {
display: none;
}
}
Cheers
That would hide the breadcrump on every woocommerce page. I do only want to hide it on the category pages. So it should still show for example on product pages.
The code I suggested does not seem to be working; are you using a different hook? Or can I make the CSS specific to category pages?
Hey dzineee,
The snippet could be altered for that:
@media only screen and (max-width: 1000px) { .woocommerce.archive .woocommerce-breadcrumb { display: none; } }
Cheers
Thank you
You’re welcome dzineee
Hey Nectar! I hope all is well man. I wanted to reach out to you for something I have been struggling with on Salient for some time and that’s the mobile optimization
What are some of your best practices for mobile optimization with Salient man? It does seem like if there was only one criticism I have with Salient is that mobile optimization seems a little to be desired out of the box when using Salient Studio.
For example – I love the way this came out on desktop – https://soundcreamairstream.com/
But mobile its a bit of a mess. I have noticed that with Elementor, it does seem to be more natively user-friendly. Do you have any plans in the future working with elementor?
Again love Salient but I really wanted to address this with you since mobile is extremely important.
Hey lnbbroductions,
We don’t have any concrete plans to switch to elementor as the builder as of now, however the next release of Salient is bringing new viewport specific options for columns/rows which will make it possible to define how things are positioned
easily for each different viewport
Cheers
Hello, I’m getting the following error when I try to update from 11.0.1 to 11.0.4
An error occurred while updating Salient: Could not copy file. salient/css/grid-system.css
Is there away around it?
Thanks
Hey orlalarkin,
Which method are you using to update? Have you tried to manually update the theme yet by using FTP?
Cheers
I can’t make any text in the body bold, how do i fix this?
Hey shirani93,
By default the bold weight in Salient is 600, if you’re using a body font close to that it could look similar. Try adding this into the add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:
body b, body strong {
font-weight: 700;
}
If that doesn’t work, kindly share your URL in regards so I can take a look to assist.
Thanks
Website is getting a real low score on Google PageSpeed tools, especially on mobile. Is there any way to optimize this? I have already been disabling functions, but the score is ranking below 10.
Your demo is ranking 35, and I assume that is fully optimized and not running any additional plugins.
Hey dzineee,
Our latest demo is showing 62 mobile, 94 desktop from Google Pagespeed: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fthemenectar.com%2Fdemo%2Fsalient-business-3%2F
and 93 from GTMetrix: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/themenectar.com/qSGS5FAQ
If you’ve tried to test the promo page – that is not cached or optimized for ease to us since we update it frequently.
If the site you’re working on is the URL you previously shared (goedeshampoo), from taking a look, there a few things that immediately jump out. You should enable CSS/JS minification through a plugin to combine the resources and make use of the lazy loading option within the single image page builder element wherever possible. For example, each of the images here: https://ibb.co/FmPL9Wz can be set to lazy load
Thank you for taking a look and helping me with this. I actually have WP Rocket with Lazyload activated. Also combining certain .js and .css files. But it does not seem to be doing a great job.
We are also running on Cloudflare which should be taking care of a few things but overall the metric scores are still low
.
Extra note: WP rocket suggest NOT combining CSS and JS files if you are on HTTP/2. What is your take on this?
And can you turn the Lazyload option on by default within Salient? It seems that WP rocket is no really doing this. Perhaps because of conflicting with your settings?
Hey dzineee,
WP Rocket actually wrote an article in regards to the page speed test, which may be more applicable to your setup since you’re using that.
The suggestions I gave were based on the page speed insights from the test – while it’s not necessary to concatenate your css/js with HTTP2, Google apparently will still generically “ding” your score. However other page speed services such as GTmetrix will not:
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.goedeshampoo.nl/2weghIsPThe main thing i’m seeing from the GTMetrix report is relating to caching scripts which all appear to be from third party implementations such as drift, facebook, google analytics etc.
It’s a bit easy to say to ignore it, while has announced multiple times to be taking their results into account more and more often. In fact it is now a measurement within their Google Webmaster Tools.
I agree to not fully focus on the score, but it’s still an important indicator. I am not striving for a perfect score, but 7 on mobile is great by any standard.
I agree with the caching of some external scripts, not much to do about that unfortunately. Thank you for your help.
If I run WP rocket. Should I also activate Lazyload with images witin Salient? And what about pages that do not have the Salient Builder but just the wordpress editor, can (and should) I active lazyload?
Hey dzineee, If you do activate minification and concatenation for CSS/JS, the google pagespeed score will increase – though in reality, it’s not necessary for the actual page speed of your site with your setup. Also, I don’t see the images on the home page currently lazy loading, so I would activate the Salient lazy loading option in the image element itself: https://ibb.co/ZXP9Bgt
Hi, is there a easy way to remove the border from the default table styling? Could it be done in the custom css? Scroll a bit down > http://31.217.192.126/~tapiolag/demo/varaa-ja-pelaa/
Hey Teemuki, You can remove that by adding this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:
#ajax-content-wrap .main-content table,
#ajax-content-wrap .main-content tr td {
border: none;
}
Cheers
Change sidebar location on mobile?
Hi there, in this ticket 2015 you already discussed it: https://themenectar.ticksy.com/ticket/526711
You say it’s not possible at the time. Is it possible now already? The mobile layout is really bad for woocommerce when you use a left sidebar with some filters. This sort of destroys conersion rates on mobile.
You have any advice how to make this better? Are you expecting improvements in the mobile woocommerce layout?
Hey dzineee,
The WooCommerce sidebar functionality has changed since then to place filters inside of toggles for mobile as to not take up unneeded space. This can be seen on the following demo: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-ecommerce-ultimate/product-category/casual-shirts/
Can you please share your URL in regards so I can see your setup?
Yes it is indeed toggled; but it still takes up a lot of space. I was thinking of moving this to the end (right alignment) or simply remove it completely. Relevant lin is https://www.goedeshampoo.nl/product-categorie/shampoo/
Are we able to move the placement? If not, could you let me now the relevant code to hide it on mobile?
Hey dzineee, you can do so by adding this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:
@media only screen and (max-width: 999px) {
.woocommerce.archive .main-content > .row {
display: flex;
flex-direction: column-reverse;
}
}
Could you take a look at this page and see if you can help.
1) The variable product price doesn’t automatically change when the variable product is chosen in the dropdown. The only way to get the price to change (on desktop) is to click somewhere on the page. Strange and can’t figure out why it’s doing that.
2) Is there a way to stylize this dropdown to match Salient style dropdowns? Thank you!
Here’s the page: https://bit.ly/38oRRMH
Here’s a screenshot of the issues: https://ibb.co/7WD3jMp
Hey ehong33234,
You can change the styling in the Salient options panel > form styling tab by enabling the option “Enable Fancy Select Styling”. If that doesn’t correct your other issue, please open a ticket on our support forum in regards with temporary admin credentials so we can take a closer look into this: https://themenectar.ticksy.com
Thanks in advance
Hi, the toggle panel onclick jumps to bottom of page when the option is ticked “allow” so that only one toggle is open at a time all the clicks to expand a panel jumps to the bottom of the page, so you have to scroll back up to see the information which is very annoying if i turn off “Allow” so everything is collapsed, the page works perfectly and all clicks expand but do not jump down.. is this a bug that can be fixed as we like the look of expanding one toggle at a time… an example of this can been seen here… http://r17.e66.myftpupload.com/features/ we have a bit of info under each toggle so its rather annoying for clients reading. Please help .. still the best theme by the way i recommend it to all my clients!!
Hey fiftyonefifty
This occurs naturally from the browser due to the content size changing. However, that element has been rebuilt in the current beta release and should not experience that behavior anymore. If you’d like a copy now, please reach out via the contact form on my author page https://themeforest.net/user/themenectar
Cheers
I’m having a problem with the theme, as I adjust the size of my browser window some of the content is disappearing, it’s really frustrating.
Hey paul0v2, I’m sorry to hear you’ve ran into an issue. Can you please share the actual page URL so I can help you?
Thanks in advance
It turns out it was the column animation, when it was on the content would show but if I refreshed the page it wouldn’t show it was a hit or miss. I took off all the column animations and it works fine now
Hey paul0v2,
If you’d like me to take a closer look into why that was occurring for you anytime in the future, kindly reach out in regards with the site URL via the contact form on my author page https://themeforest.net/user/themenectar
Cheers
Hello,
Here are some pre-sale questions that i gathered, as i navigated through out your theme. Most of them are related with this demo http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-product/#purchase , and others are more general :
1) Regarding the demo above, Can i make a menu with separate pages added in it? I want to have some inner pages that can be displayed if the user clicks on a button.
2) Can i import a demo and then import some separate pages from another demo?
3) Do you support or implement revolution slider at all or you have your custom slider?
4) Regarding the image hotspot element, can i add a gif type , or even have an mp4 or a webm video in the background and have the functionality of the element (tootips on hover etc.)?
5) Regarding the demo above, in the last page, can i add more window offers and not only 3? Is this an element that i can create freely with a page builder , or it is an element that has fixed settings?
Best Regards, Efstathiadis Efstathios
Hey Efstathiadis,
1) Yes, you can assign any desired links to the off canvas navigation area.
2) Multiple demos can be imported, but you can also make use of the Salient studio template library to get sectionshttp://themenectar.com/docs/salient/salient-studio/
3) Revolution slider will work with Salient, however it’s not included. We have also not tested it in combination with the full screen rows option as shown in the product demo.
4) An animated GIF can be used, but not a video
5) The last section is custom created in the page builder via columns
Cheers
Hello again,
On top of the questions above i would like to ask, if it is possible to create a page with the following: Full page split in two parts and in the right part i can have some links like big menu, and on the left side have images. When user hovers on the link the image on the left will change accordingly.
Best Regards, Efstathiadis Efstathios
Extra Questions:
1) Do you support any kind of modal windows that can be applied in pages? 2) Do you support any popover elements in text or images 3) is there any option to create different menus and add them in pages? 4) On the nectar slider, can i add teh hover effect that the cursor has on the background like in this page: http://preview.themeforest.net/item/salient-responsive-multipurpose-theme/full_screen_preview/4363266 . I refer to the section “How I can help take your next project to new heights”. 5) Do you support creation of mega menus?
Hey Efstathiadis,
Unfortunately there is no option to achieve that by default in Salient.
1. You would need to use a plugin such as popup maker: https://wordpress.org/plugins/popup-maker/
2/3. This functionality would also require plugins or custom development
4. The Nectar Slider does not offer that option
5. Yes: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/mega-menu/
Cheers
Thank you for you answers.
Here is another question also:
1) Can i make a section like the demo above that would have a photo gallery inside like this : https://imgur.com/OJcO4aB ?
2) Also can i add this element inside a full height page : https://imgur.com/Xey9Jau ?
3) Sliders or image carousels can also be added inside a full height page like the demo i have send you above?
4)In this demo http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-business-2/, in the section “Our mugshots” there is another window that opens when i click on the photos. Can add more text content than just one paragraph and make it possible to scroll , or is it a fixed element?
Thank you
Hey efsefs,
1. Yes, you can use the image gallery element: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/galleries/#imagegrid
2. Yes, the carousel element can also be used
3. The Salient included carousels can be used, however we can’t guarantee 100% compatibility with third party carousels in the full height rows
4. You can have as much text as you need – the section will allow for scrolling. However, HTML is not allowed by default.
Cheers
Inside the image hotspot element, in the tab that opens on hover, we can add an image, or it is only text?
Hey efsefs,
Only text is allowed.
For the quantity on a single product page, my site is showing a big -/+ sign inside circles but how do I get it to look back to the default quantity like this?
https://elementor.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/sites/9/2018/10/feature-1-1024x488.jpgHey ehong33234,
add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:
}
#ajax-content-wrap .cart .quantity input.plus, #ajax-content-wrap .cart .quantity input.minus {
background-color: transparent!important;
box-shadow: none;
font-size: 20px;
}
#ajax-content-wrap .cart .quantity input.plus:hover, #ajax-content-wrap .cart .quantity input.minus:hover {
color: #000!important;
}
Thank you for this. It got rid of the circular stroke around the +/- sign but how do I get the square (field) around the quantity as shown in my screenshot above?
Hey, you can add this in to get that:
.woocommerce .cart .quantity input.qty {
background-color: #f2f2f2;
border: 1px solid rgba(0,0,0,0.2);
}
Cheers
Is there an option to use a youtube video for the background of a column? I can see the MP4 video and other video options on the column but no YouTube option.
Am I missing it? If not is it something which can be added?
Hey MarcGarner, The youtube BG is a core feature of WPBakery, rather a Salient addition. As of now they do not include that as an option for columns.
Is it possible to hide overflow in one direction for the flickity carousel.
I am using in on the right column of a two column row and would like overflow on the right so the user knows to scroll. But not have any overflow on the left – otherwise it goes over the text in the other column.
https://ibb.co/zHn2mvp https://ibb.co/9q8c5sCHey MarcGarner, the flickity carousel already offers a built in style like this: https://ibb.co/vj9hF0V you don’t have to use a column setup to create it
Hello, Yes that works but I would like to retain the style of the touch indicator and total visualised option. Would it be possible to achieve this by giving the column to the left a solid white background and then using the z-index to place the overflow behind the other column?
Hey MarcGarner, yes, CSS could be used to achieve that. Kindly share your page URL in regards if you’d like an example snippet.
Cheers
Hey MarcGarner,
Give the column a class name so that it can be targeted e.g. “white-bg” and then add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:
.vc_row-fluid .white-bg:before {
background-color: #fff;
position: absolute;
width: 100vw;
right: 0;
height: 100%;
content: '';
display: block;
z-index: 2;
}
Works brilliantly, thanks awesome as always
You’re welcome MarcGarner
Hello,
I get the error Notice: fieldAttachedImages is old since version 5.8. Use vc_field_attached_images instead.
What to do?
Hey devamo, can you kindly let me know the following: where the error is appearing, what version of the theme you’re using and have you verified that no third party plugin you may have active is causing it?
Thanks in advance
Hello Team,
I like the official “Lazy Load Blog Images” feature, Can you add feature to implement the same for all the other images, videos as well not only for blog images? As of now using a 3rd party plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/a3-lazy-load/
If you could add that feature that will be great.
Thanks, Prince
Hey Prince,
Right now there is the only when using a single image page builder element to also choose lazy loading, however i’ve noted your +1 for the idea to make it a global theme option.
Cheers
