Has anyone had any issues with the Geolocation feature for locations? If a job posting is entered via a postal or zip code;
If you type in Vancouver – it displays “Vancouver, BC, Canada”, however if you enter a postal code “V5Y 1V4” the google autocomplete drop down displays “V5Y 1V4 Vancouver, BC, Canada” but then if you accepted the value displayed in the location field it automatically appears as “Vancouver, BC V5Y 1V4, Canada”
So not sure if that is the issue? However if you post a job with only the city name (and no postal code) and then do a search for the postal code within that city the search results don’t return.
Looking for a solution or work around. For eyecix support (which has been fantasic by the way) I’ve sent a Skype message in this regard.

Anyone having any luck with the Google geolocation feature? I’ve connected with support and was advised the radius search is only available through the advanced search feature and not through the search bar on the main page. Most people when they go to search a job site will type in a location and it will bring up jobs within a radius to start.
However it appears that the geolocate feature that google has available is not resolving to the X Y coordinates as it should. A user putting in a postal code or city name should technically return the same results using geolocate (as this works with Capstone theme). The Careerfy theme looks really nice its just the geolocate feature is a deal breaker in todays day and age.
Would be interested to hear how others are making this work? Thanks
Further to my last post when you look at the Capstone theme under the location field, it shows “Powered by Google” for the locations. Only let’s you enter the city name and then populates it in a drop down list for google places, etc. Wondering if anyone has been able to get that functionality to work with Careerfy?

Ok, I’m not too worried about the google branding but rather the functionality. It doesn’t seem the geolocation is working properly with the location search and radius search functionality. All is setup correctly but the autocomplete does not seem to be functioning properly with the google places. I’ve had Skype support go through it with me and have said that is the way it works. Was hoping for some feedback from other users to see how’s they’ve worked around getting the locations and geolocation to work properly.

Hi there, we have not had any success connecting via Skype. It appears the skype service is only online overnight in the Pacific and Mountain time zones. Any chance you can resolve our issues through the support ticket we have going with the issues identified and have provided the admin credentials please? When importing “Approved” jobs via WP IMPORT PRO, the jobs are not visible on frontend.
Import is successful but each job is missing a lot of postmeta. To fix this, one would have to EDIT > SAVE each job individually so that all the necessary postmeta information is saved in database.
Should each import be assigned a JOBS post type or POSTS?
My assumptions has been that post type should be set to JOBS.
This is a big issue because we have imports in the THOUSANDS.
