The front page of this theme is great. The rest of the layout, however, is really bad for actually grouping podcast shows.
First of all, they use Post Categories as “Show Pages.” Meaning search engines will not display the show page in the search results, AND you cannot customize the page outside of adding a graphic and description. So then you need to add a single post per episode, instead of just being able to embed a full player.
There needs to be a way to override the terrible Post Category grouping and instead use Pages for each Show.
It should work like:
Display Shows > Select Pages
Page 1 = Show 1.
Then the player can pull from the episodes embedded into the PAGE, not the individual posts.
You can override the terrible layout using redirects, but it causes issues with search results.

I hope I understand your point and I’ll try to explain how to accomplish that and what is our Megaphone theme concept.
If you want to use pages, not posts to copy/paste your podcast playlist you can do that on Megaphone but the Homepage will not in the way you like and with our Megaphone player.
You should consider using some RSS Feed importing all your podcasts like posts in the Megaphone and use Megaphone shows/episodes concept, or some other podcasting plugin with episodes and series custom post type that we support.
In that way, you will be able to use the whole Megaphone power. And one important thing is that Google and all other search engines will be able to find specific podcast easier.
In general your site and podcasts SEO can get you more visitors and listeners.

Category pages are specifically ranked lower unless you do a lot of SEO work to make them function like landing pages, which is probably more than most WP users know how to do.
By having the Landing Page for the shows be the Category Page, instead of an actual page, you’re actively making it HARDER for Google to find your podcast. Yes, it can find the episodes, but when someone searches “Podcast Name,” Google results will come up with “Episode 1” instead of the landing page for the show.
Using Category pages limits the amount of customization people can do, and is poor planning. It works for single podcasts because the website should hopefully be the podcast name. But if you have multiple podcasts, using this theme is a very big problem.
As I said, it would be much more useful if you could use a Page, instead of Category. Please consider implementing this in the future.

Our customers often come to ask for advice on how they can achieve some things, such as this one, or they ask for information on how to solve some issues that they’re having. The theme that you’re using for your website front end is just a part of the site, so many things can go wrong, and they don’t need to be related to the theme itself.

Hi I saw that you wrote that you can only use an elementor with anywhere elementor, is it possible to display podcasts etc. within the elementor as there is in the teamplet itself?

What we stated is that you need to use Anywhere Elementor only if you want to have Elementor content on your Front Page. You can use Elementor on your other pages with the standard procedure.
Regarding your question – Our audio files are embedded inside the posts(episodes), and our podcast shows are, in fact, categories. So, sure, you can display your episodes or shows with Elementor, but only in the way Elementor itself displays them. There are multiple layouts available in the pro version, but in the free version you can only use some basic layouts.

The shows are not correctly displaying their featured image on the front page and show page. I have them set under their Series and am using the ‘seriously simple podcast’ plugin. Featured images are also set under feed details and correctly set under each podcast post. Any advice on how to correct this?

Hi,
I have issues with the Blog Area section for the front-page. The pagination is getting PAGE NOT FOUND.
I have done a lot of tests and I have not found the reason of this. I know this issue could be because maybe there is custom post type with the same name than another, but the question is, why is this happening with this template?

This theme clearly states that it supports multiple shows (in the way of categories) but this isn’t really the case.
The subscribe links, both in the subscribe menu and in the actual player can only link to one address – so if you have more than one show these clearly make no sense as they could be pointing to an entirely different show.
Also the ‘Latest episode’ play area on the welcome area shows the episode title but not the show title – making things very confusing for the visitor to the site.
If these were fixed, the theme would be perfect for multiple shows, but as it stands, displaying more than one show just doesn’t make sense.
- I also have an issue with the main menu not working on mobile but that is with support at the moment, so maybe it is an easy fix on my part.Hello,

I know how to set up multiple shows (using categories), but the subscribe links do not work for multiple shows.
Nobody would expect a link in the subscribe menu to Spotify (or any of the other platforms) to take them to the root domain i.e Spotify.com – people would expect that link to take them to that specific show on the platform, making it easy to subscribe.
Nobody would then expect to search for a show on that platform before they could subscribe.
These links appear in the subscribe menu and on the player – and they really should point to that specific show page on the platform, whether it is Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts etc.
These links are global across this site, so they do not work for multiple shows.
As for the latest episode, if you are hosting multiple shows, it is important to have the name of the show as well as the episode name – otherwise it just confuses the site visitor. This shouldn’t be extra paid for customisation.
Also. the megaphone.fm embed doesn’t work correctly as it chops the logo in half. Even if I change the player height.
