We found a problem in the responsiveness. In Woocommerce user edit account page, When we reduce the size of the browser windows to tablet size and then make it bigger again to full screen or laptop size, The user information editing form and the side menu go under the main menu. You can see this problem in the image below. Is there any css solution to fix it?
http://uupload.ir/files/vh01_capture.jpgHey Jabbarpour,
I can’t seem to replicate that locally. What version of the theme are you using? It would be helpful if you could create a staging URL with your settings.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Can you point me to a resource on how to add action hooks, and the right spot(s) for the following?
https://afterpay-online.readme.io/docs/woocommerce-frequently-asked-questions-faqsThanks heaps!
Hey sacredimagining!
Salient is already using those default WooCommerce hooks. Are you not able to see the plugin working on any of the areas listed in the FAQ (single, archive, cart) or is it only a specific section that you’re having issues with?
Hi again! It is working in cart, isn’t working on single product pages or archive/category page. Here is the site: https://upwarddog.com.au
Hey sacredimagining,
The hooks mentioned in those docs (woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item_title) and () are in use in Salient. You can find them in the “nectar_product_thumbnail_minimal” function located in salient/nectar/helpers/woocommerce.php
and in salient/wp-content/themes/salient/woocommerce/content-single-product.php
Does the theme has lazy load? if no, does it support the Litespeed plugin Lazy Load?
Hey Ango11,
Salient offers lazy loading for the image element, but since it’s a new feature it’s not a global option and must be enabled on a per image basis – The lazy loading for the blog/post grid is a global theme option though.
Third party plugins for lazy loading could break element that rely on javascript for calculations such as the portfolio/masonry blog etc.
Cheers
Hi there, can you please explain what is on per image bases, or show screenshot of the settings? Also, is the theme compatible on Litespeed servers?
Hey Ango11,
1. As in, for every image added via the page builder, there is an option to set how that image will load in the image element settings: https://ibb.co/KFbyqNV
2. Salient has the same requirements as WordPress itself
Hi there. Is there a way to have the first toggle panel open by default – and NOT use the “Accordion Toggles” mode.
Hey simonpeyto,
I’m afraid that would not be possible without a javascript modification at this time.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Are you able to assist with the javascript modification or point me in the right direction? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hey simonpeyto,
You can add this into the custom js box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:
https://pastebin.com/Yi2V0ezUPerfect! Thanks for all your help, very much appreciated.
Cheers simonpeyto
Hello, Me Again!
I can’t seem to find out how I can add a sidebar to my blog page. I want the Classic With SideBar.
Please advice. TIA
Hey yousif1
In the Salient options panel > blog tab, you can select the layout and style which will be for all blog archive pages: https://ibb.co/vVn9tmL
If you’re instead using a page builder element to create your blog, the layout can be edited directly inside the element settings.
Cheers
Hi I have tried every setting and NOTHING changes the necter slider caption font. What could possibly stop that from changing ?
Hey 7atrick,
There’s a typography field to alter the slider caption in the Salient options panel: https://ibb.co/QCN8fV1 If you already have a font family specified for that which is not updating in your slider, please share your URL in regards so that I can assist.
Thanks in advance

Thanks
No problem, WORKS, only need delete cache after change code. THANKS
Hey CAPBCN, glad to hear you got it sorted
Cheers
Is this theme support elementor? I mean all demo pages are ready in elementor?
Hey AliCodes,
Salient does not include the demos in an elementor format – Salient only uses a tailored version of WPbakery.
Cheers
Is there a way to rename Portfolio/Project to something else, say Locale/Client?
Hey potion5,
You can alter the URL slug in the theme options > portfolio > functionality tab. The portfolio/project strings can then be altered by generating a .po file from the plugin .pot file. (wp-content/plugins/salient-portfolio/languages/salient-portfolio.pot)
I want to revamp my site to another Salient layout. If I change to a different demo using demo importer, will I lose all of my current data? What is the best method for me to retain my existing site contents but change look to a new Salient template? Thanks!
Hey ehong33234,
No existing data will be lost, only new pages/menus etc will be imported. When you click on a demo to import, you’ll also have the option to toggle whether to import the theme options https://ibb.co/BfRt8Zn If you do not want to lose your current theme options style settings, unselect that.
Cheers
Hi, I was wondering if there are solutions to the following header and mega-menu options:
- Can the header navigation background color be set to black, with light text/logo(white), and on other pages have the background color set to white with dark text/logo(black). Transparency off.
- Can WPBakery be used to build a custom menu (rows/columns) within the mega menu area?
Thanks in advance,
Hey Ewanbenoit,
Version 12 has not added to ability to use separate header coloring on a per page basis, that would still require modifications from a child theme. WPbakery also can not be used for the mega menu currently – you can find the full changelog here: http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html
Cheers
As I informed you earlier about the incompatibility of the Salient and the Slider Revolution, and you told me to inform you if I had a problem, I took these images from a sample slider to see the problem that occurs for the layers.
I tested this sample slider in other themes that are compatible with the Slider Revolution and all of them displayed this slider without any problems but as you can see in the pictures below, Salient moves the slider layers and changes their position.
If you want, I can send you the project file of this sample slider so that you can take a closer look at the problem yourself and solve the problems to make Salient something better and more complete.

Hey Jabbarpour,
Can you please share the actual URL so that I can take a look at slider instance to assist?
Thanks in advance
Actually we are testing Salient on localhosts. But as I said, I can give you the project file, then you can import it yourself in the Slider Revolution and see the problems up close.
You can send it via email by using the contact form on my author page https://themeforest.net/user/themenectar
Thanks in advance
Thank you I sent you via email in contact form
Thanks Jabbarpour
Hey, i directly sent you an email regarding an issue never got a reply …
Hey astutestudio, I do not see any emails from your username recently, can you kindly let me know what you’re referring to?
Also, looking at older emails you’ve sent, the email address attached to your envato account seems to be invalid. In the past when you have submitted a contact form message, I am unable to respond. Please update it (it’s currently showing as envato@astute.studio).
Cheers
I sent you from your profile page now.
Hey astutestudio, Alter the snippet to the following:
#header-outer header#top nav > ul > li.link-color > a {
color: #8cc63f!important;
}
Thanks!
You’re welcome, astutestudio
Hello, I would like to change color of header social buttons facebook, YouTube to their default color: blue, red etc; but it they don’t have a separate class. Any advice? Thanks
Hey nvr21,
Are you referring to the social icons in the header navigation/footer or the social sharing buttons from the Salient Social plugin? If you could share your URL in regards, I’d be glad to assist.
Cheers
Hello, I’m reffering to social header they all got same default colors. social-in-menu
You can alter those like so:
body #header-outer .sf-menu #social-in-menu i.fa-facebook,
body #header-outer .sf-menu #social-in-menu i.fa-facebook:after {
color: #2f68d0!important;
}
body #header-outer .sf-menu #social-in-menu i.fa-youtube-play,
body #header-outer .sf-menu #social-in-menu i.fa-youtube-play:after {
color: #ff1f1f!important;
}
Perfect many thanks
works flowless
Glad I could help, nvr21
Hi, is there an option for the new dynamic post grid (http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-promo/dynamic-post-grid/) to display an excerpt of the blog post?
Is there an option to style it like the “cards” in material design to resemble the classic salinet post widget?
Intention is to have the look of the classical masonry blog post material card styling AND use the category filter which is only available in the new widget?
Thanks for any help and keep up the good work! Salient is awesome!
Hey vizion-dan!
As of version 12, there is a new style available for the post grid called “content under featured image”, which will provide the layout you’re looking for. Once you’ve updated the theme and Salient core plugin, you’ll have access to that – there is also new Salient Studio templates which make use of it, which you can add to your page(s) as a starting point.
Cheers
Hi, thanks for the fast help!
Small follow-up to this issue: I found the setting you mentioned and applied it to the new post grid – looking like this https://remote.netzer.it/s/pc6SaFKgkDg5JbN/preview
As several other parts of the theme feature that “card” style when using the Theme Skin “Material” this looks a little inconsistent in styling. For example the “You may also like Widget” seen here features the “card” styling and is not configurable afaik: https://remote.netzer.it/s/BnZpb6K9JjTq8Kz/preview
Is there a styling option I am missing? Sure, this is no big deal but its an inconsitency in this awesome theme! Could you please help? Or implement a consisten styling option which would be GREAT!
Thanks for an awesome theme!
Hey vizion-dan!
There is an option to enable a card style on the post grid: https://ibb.co/dcNvQbBMake sure that you’ve also updated your version of the Salient Core plugin to the current release (1.6) after updating the theme.
Thanks for your help! Thats quite it, I was able to nearly resemble the cards style from the given example. Only missing is the author and its little picture (there is no meta setting available for author) and the category links are not styled with “Accent Color” like on the original blog widget.
Hey, thats totally okay for the author missing (maybe this setting comes in a future update?), but is there a litte CSS snippet to make the category links in the accent color?
Thanks a lot for your outstanding care and support for this gem.
Hey vizion-dan, I’ve noted the idea in regards. For altering the color,
Add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:
body .nectar-post-grid .nectar-post-grid-item .content .meta-category a {
color: #f00!important;
}
body .nectar-post-grid .meta-category a:before {
background-color: #f00;
}
Cheers
Works as expected! Thanks a lot!
You’re welcome, vizion-dan
Thank you thank you that did it for me, wow right under my nose thank you again and keep up the good work
Glad I could help out, Teatone
Cheers
Also a very weird thing happened to the mobile off canvas menu. It’s not showing on the home page and when the page scrolled down, it suddenly comes out from the left and blocking the logo on the top left corner. everything worked fine before I update salient and VC to the latest version.
Hey sunnydream, please see my response to your previous comment.
Cheers
This is very frustrating. I have been using Salient for years and recently updated with the newest version as well as the newest visual composer, now all my images are missing on mobile. How to fix this? Thanks!
Hey sunnydream,
That sounds like it could either be 1. A caching issue which could be caused if you have a minification plugin active and have not cleared it since updating. 2. A child theme conflict, if you’re using one.
If you can share your actual URL in regards I’d be glad to take a look and assist.
Thanks in advance
Thanks very much!
Hey sunnydream,
Which method did you previously use to update? Some files loading in your setup are not from version 12 – there’s a mix of old and new files, which will cause various issues. The responsive.css file located at https://www.bettadesignlab.com/wp-content/themes/salient/css/responsive.css is not current – it’s possible that it’s either hard cached in your setup, or when you updated that file never got overridden with the latest version.
It looks like you’re cloudflare, I would first try to disable that to rule out the caching possibility and if that doesn’t correct it, try to simply reupload the version 12 of the theme to ensure it’s all current.
Hey sunnydream, there’s a few methods described in the documentation on that page – I’m assuming you tried the first method (Envato market plugin)?
What was the error that you received?
I first used the Envato market plugin and it gives me all those mobile errors. Then I tried to use Easy Theme Upgrades Plugin but it doesn’t exist any more. At the end, I tried method 3 and installed theme, but all the mobile errors are still there. Thanks!
Kindly reach out directly via the contact form on my author page with a temporary admin account so that I can take a closer look: https://themeforest.net/user/themenectar
Thanks in advance
just sent~ thanks very much!
Thanks so much! After clearing out all cache, it’s finally working now.
You’re very welcome, sunnydream
yo. So I just tried out the latest theme version to try out the multiscreen editing features. I do have to say I was a little disappointed. I was hoping for the ability to have content be unique per view, but that wasn’t the case. Really all I got was the ability to just change the viewport to see my edits via desktop/mobile etc. I’m sure there’s subtle changes per device but besides changelog where can I find more information on these? Really crossing my fingers that i missed something obvious and I can actually change my content Per device without having to duplicate the content.
Hey SiteTonight,
The ability to provide separate sets of content per device was never a planned feature, as that would not be the ideal solution in regard to SEO.
The devices groups in v12.0 allow you to edit the key styling attributes for each viewport (padding/margin etc.), which has opened up tons of new design possibilities and allows for much greater control over the layout. The option to control the column ordering has also been added: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/page-builder-row/#column-direction
Utilizing these new features should eliminate the need for separate rows to be shown/hidden on mobile and desktop in most cases. If you’re not seeing those options, make sure you’ve also updated your version of the Salient core plugin to the current release (1.5)
Cheers
Hi, great theme and i am really enjoying it. I am not a programmer etc.. but i try my best! is there a way to make the “Portfolio display in Alphabetical” order? Do i need to insert a code somewhere?
Hey yousif1, I’m glad to hear you’ve enjoying Salient
If you use the newer “Post Grid” element, and set it to display from the portfolio, there’s an option built in that will allow you to query projects alphabetically: https://ibb.co/Pwq77RR
Cheers
Hello and thank you for your reply. No i do not have this option. are you able to login to my wordpress and check it out? I am not a programmer and need your help please.
Hey yousif1,
If you’re not seeing the post grid element in your page builder, you likely just need to update your theme and the included Salient plugins. Please do so by following any of the methods described in the docs that is easiest for you: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/
Cheers
