Hello,
I bought this beautiful theme and am excited to get started. I am new to Wordpress and understand that I will have a learning curve here so was hoping that I could install the theme and work from the demo template. When I installed the theme it did not transfer layouts etc. as per your demo. From skimming through comments, it looks like there is an xml file that would achieve this/a file that came with the original download. I see it in my file manager within the theme but it looks like I have to build it all from scratch. Do you mind pointing me in the right direction? My ideal scenario is that I can start by modifying from your beautiful template. Thanks in advance for your help!
Yes you need to import the XML file into Wordpress to get the demo data. It includes everything except for the images and slider content.
Hello, I would also be interested by adding a top bar with small social icons bar (and maybe secondary menu) in the header, is that easy to do so ?

Yes it’s version 1.0.3, i downloaded it on the 20th of august. When using the 1 column layout, there is also no content coming up for the portfolio post.

It’s ok, I have changed my design idea instead. Thank you anyway. I do have one new issue though. When using side navigation, the green highlight side line and text rollover effect is not working when using it on either the left or right side of the page.
Is there something else that needs to be changed to make this work? I am just following your info of putting the template as side nav and making the child pages.
That should be working, do you have the pages set up for the side navigation menu items, meaning you can navigate from page to page with the side nav?

I have changed the name to the product name. but i dont want the prices to list in the options above the portfolio, i only want the product categories there.
Can I use the skills part as the price? Can I change the css so that skills come up on the green rollover?
Last thing – when i click on the product itself, it takes me to a blank page even though i have added text to the portfolio post. What do I need to do to fix this?
Well you could add the price to the product name so it shows up and not add any categories. The way the theme is set up is if we change it to the skills showing up below the text title on the rollovers, then they will show up on the item page as well so I suggest putting the price in the product name.
If you dont like that idea then Muhammad will be able to tell you if you can customize it further to do what you are asking.
The portfolio should not be doing that. Is that happening to all portfolio items? Have you downloaded the latest version of the theme? It’s 1.0.3 released on August 18th. If you don’t have that version then re-Download it from your downloads tab and install the new theme files. That should fix the issue.
You can see our change log on the bottom of the item page to see what files you should replace.
For the last issue, make sure your permalinks are set to postname .
Hi,
I would like to change the text in the green overlay that goes over the items in the 4 portfolio view. I am using it to display products and i just want it to come up with the product name and cost and then when clicked on go into the full page description.
Is this possible? Can I change it in the CSS ?

The text that shows up on the green rollovers correlates to the name of the individual portfolio or blog post. So whatever you name the image in the post settings, will be what shows up on the roll overs.
Then the categories show up below the title text, so you could in theory make your prices the categories.
So for a new item, make the name the product name, then add a price for the category.
Seriously considering buying this theme. Two questions: how “well” is “well documented” documentation? How many pages?
And, is there a forum to post questions or is that only handled in this comment section?
Very clean looking theme. Like the layer sliders.
Documentation is set up as a web page so there really isn’t a page count. Its not huge by any means but tt includes the info you need to know to set up your theme, and we also include the xml file so you can import our demo data so your theme looks like our demo (minus the individual slides since they are images, no images are included) No complaints on the documentation. The documentation also includes separate layer slider documentation.

Beautiful theme – this’ll work great for a current project. Quick pre-purchase question: can the background of the top page title bar be different for each page? The Custom Backgrounds page mentions that they can be changed but does not specify if they can be different for each page or post. Can you clarify?
Currently the page options allow for one image, but we are working on an update that will allow a unique image to be used on any page, so you will be able to upload a different custom image to every page!

Hi, First off I love your theme. After loading the provided XML into the site I discovered that it doesn’t include a template for the layerslider. I see from previous comments that this is not in the XML .
The layerslider interface provides an import/export functionality, could you provide the export from your demo site so I can try it out? Or is it not that simple?

please note, I’m not entirely sure how well it will work since there rare images involved that are not included with the demo due to copyright laws.

Great theme! Question. I found a plugin for a stock ticker. Could I put that in the header some how? Also can I put whatever widget I can find through wordpress on the home page?
Yes our theme is widget ready. We obviously have not tested ever single widget so we can’t say that all of them are going to work perfectly. But its set up to take widgets. putting them in different areas will take a little customization in some spots.
We can also assist you with any issue that arise if you make the purchase.

Thanks for the reply and I’ll send you the files but I did all the basic stuff like clearing history, cache etc. However, how many people who use iPads, Xooms etc know how to do this?
I will send you copies of the screenshots now.
In the meantime, can you please tell me how to disable responsive from the theme. Responisve causes too many problems on different devices and I’d rather run it as a standard site and use a mobile plugin.

I’m not sure how many people know how to clear cache, but the point is it wont be happening to everyone. Your particular device may of just needed it.

To disable the responsiveness, you need to delete the media queries. If you send us your url/username/password we can take care of this for you.
Also, if you could send us screenshots of the issue you saw on your devices, it would be very helpful for us to look into them.

Is there an option to turn off the responsive design for the iPhone. My client usually don’t like the mobile version but instead wanted the FULL SITE version to be seen on the iPhone.
Yes we can disable the responsiveness for you, no worries! There is not a one button click right now to disable it, but we will be adding it to a future update. But either way, it can be easily disabled.

1. The sidebar widget headers are controlled by … #sidebar .widget h3 You can add custom css to the style.css file in the editor
2. On the contact page itself there is a filed at the bottom called “contact info”. Type your address there, for example our demo says … new york city, ny

mgunnels SAYS EDIT : to be more specific. This error appears after I tried to install the first time. The first time it says the plugin installed correctly and then the theme keeps prompting me that it has not been installed. So on the second install I am given this error. I have already tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling with the same issue. Hi I just purchased your theme. When installing the required plugins I am receiving this error: The plugin does not have a valid header. If you don’t have it, please visit your downloads tab and re-download the new version and install it.

Forgot to ask – can responsive be turned off for the entire theme? I’d rather use a mobile version for mobile devices as responsive has too many browser issues.

There are a few responsive resize bugs/issues. This is the same on your demo as it is on the site I am working with.
1. On iPad/motorola xoom when switching between portrait and landscape (rotating the screen). the menu changes from full site to a dropdown (portrait) format. 2. On ipad/Xoom the featured image (Flexslider) does not resize in portrait format and appears wider than the screen. It takes several pinches to get the site to resize properly 3. On ipad flexsider sometimes doesn’t load in your demo 4. On firefox, when you click on a featured image in the flex slider then hit the back button, a small dropdown appears in the main menu div alongside the text menus. 5. On Android phones, there are lots of images that do no resize when navigating through the site.

A lot of these issue on the iPad we are not seeing, I could send you screenshots of them but I’m sure thats not necessary. Have you tried to reset safari on the iPad? Got o settings and clear the cache and history. I just checked on two devices and the flex slider works perfectly. THe menu on portrait mode should be a drop down as you see it, its too wide to be a full version.
We will look into these issues further on other devices, and if you could please email us screenshots of these issues it would be helpful. But please clear your cache first and reset safari, maybe even do a restart of the iPad then check. As I’m not seeing the issues on the iPad. Use our profile page to get the email.

You need to set the “side navigation” link to be the first item on the side. So if you want the first item on your side navigation to show up when you click on “characteristics”, make sure to set the linked page to be the first item.
im having some issues with the portfolio pages. 1. on the main portfolio page(1 column) the text is being bumped to the bottom. 2. On the single project page nothing is showing up…

I have downloaded the theme and am working on my site. I am having a bit of trouble getting the layers in the layers slider or center or be relative to the browser size. What setting might i be missing. I was hoping to install the XML test data file. Make sure skin name is “avada”. Layerslider width is 100% and force responsive is off along with preload images set to false.
Some important settings for layerslider to make sure its working perfectly with the theme.

Hmm, Luke will help you with that.
He basically managed the slides on our demo page.
The xml file we provide does not include the data from the layer slider, its a 3rd party slider plugin so it could not be included. But I have made 2 new FAQ ’s for our users, please go to the FAQ tab at the top of this page.
One of the FAQ ’s explains how to position your sublayers to always be in the same spot. The second FAQ has a link to download the exported data from our layer slider. To be honest, I’m not sure how well the exported data will work since you do not have those images loaded, but its worth a shot. Either way, the first FAQ explains how to get items to remain in the same spot.
