Hey, I’m trying to add a simple hyperlink in the “icon list” element, but the content editor strips all html markup – so that won’t work.
I tried adding a “raw html” element and hard coding the icon list based on what appears in the page source of a render page with the icon list added. This method only works when placed below an actual “icon list” element. As soon as I delete the “icon list” element and update the page with the “raw html” still enabled, the styling is lost.
I don’t love having to do a workaround like this to be able to simply add an anchor link to some text, but I’m willing to do it this way – if it would work. Again, the styling is lost, and I’m just left with some simple div’s and no “icon list” as was designed by Salient.
Please advise.

On the homepage I added two recent news items in a widget “Nectar recent post extra”. When I hover the titels, the color gets the same color as the background. Is it possible to make the hover color different? I tried different things with css, but I can’t figure it out.

Hey Pieter,
It appears that the issue is being caused by older Salient styles loading in your setup. Since you have a minification/caching plugin active, please ensure that the styles are regenerated now that you’ve updated. If you also want to verify this is the root cause, simply deactivate the caching plugin temporarily to let the raw files load.

I have added the following code to make sure that the custom background image is also fixed on mobile devices. It’s working on Android phones and in the chrome inspector tool, but on iOs/iPhone the background is blurry and the background image is not fixed.

I am trying to target the 4 columns individually to apply custom css to change the color of the border of the posts: https://noorderlichtcafe.flywheelsites.com/agenda/. Now all borders are yellow, but I would like to give each column a different border color. This would repeat itself in the row below.
Unfortunately I didn’t manage to see how to apply this. Could you please advise?

1.iOS does not support the use of background-attachment: fixed https://stackoverflow.com/questions/23236158/how-to-replicate-background-attachment-fixed-on-ios You would need to use of the other parallax speeds e.g. “fast” or “slow” to make it work on all mobile devices

One of my client is using your Salient theme.
I have little concern about the owl carousel on your theme. Actually I am also an author on CodeCanyon and selling few plugins.
In one of my product I am also using owl carousel and it is going to be conflict with your them JS.
Let me clear the scenario, you will be more cleared.
Client is using theme version 11.0.4
In your theme JS salient/js/init.js you are initializing owl carousel on a common class .owl-carousel via this function owlCarouselInit()
Owl Carousel is a third party script and many product / author using it like Elementor, WP Bakery and etc.
So you need to initialize it on your own prefixed class. Otherwise it will conflict with other product which uses the owl carousel.
The same for styling also. You need to apply style for owl carousel by your parent prefixed class.
I hope you can understand this scenario and update your theme. Please let me know if there is anything.

Yes, you can enable the off canvas menu to display in the Salient options panel > header navigation > off canvas menu tab. Once that’s active, you’ll have a new menu location in addition to the regular one which you can assign items to in Appearance > Menus

Hey FeriaPixel, There’s no element built into Salient which can provide a constant rotation like you’re looking for. The carousels in Salient do offer autorotation, but will rotate between each item rather than a linear scroll.
After the last update v12, the top bar menus are no longer clickable.(see. https://huette-bohrtechnik.com/) The top bar it works perfectly on posts / portfolios (see. https://huette-bohrtechnik.com/huette-at-conexpo-2020-las-vegas/)
Hey casagrandegroup, You can correct this by disabling the “Header Permanent Transparent” option in the Salient options panel > header navigation > transparent header effect tab. It’s not needed in your setup since you have the navigation bar resting at the top as opposed to following on scroll.
