I am using Directories Pro extension. I have a small issue of compatibility between the extension and your Pressville theme.
When I contacted their support, they answered it:

This must be fixed in the theme. We recommend contacting the developer of the theme so that the “the_content()” function (which Directories Pro relies on to display listing content) is called even when there is no value for the post_content field.

Hi,
I assume the plugin uses default theme’s single.php to display post content. In that case, it can be fixed via small code modification using the child theme. So please get in touch with the plugin dev to confirm about the single.php, then make sure you are using the chid theme, renew the support and I will be able to help you. Thanks.

Sure, copy the template-parts/single-post-content.php file to your child theme – preserve the relative path (meaning that if you don’t have a template-parts folder in your child theme, create it). Open the copied file in your child theme and remove first and last line.
Hiya Lubos, can I just check – I’ve received an update email from Themeforest about the Pressville theme but it is not showing up on either of my installs (I have 2 accounts & licences) – it say’s I am up to date (I have Envato Market plugin installed as well and it’s not showing up there either). Does this update have to be installed manually ?

I’m curently on localhost, not yet online. I’ll send You when it will be online. I can only decribe. The Sitemap block on your demo is on the background picture. On my site it’s also on backround picture, but on all backgound picture. 1/3 of backround picture on the top is visible. sitemap block is covering complete 2/3 of background picture, not like on your demo, where block is inside the picture. My english is not perfect. I hope you understand

Thanks, I resolved it…my mistake…didn’t read documentation carefuly….two more questions…..is there any custom css to change background colour on Custom sidebar, and to put background picture on LSVR weather widget like in Townpress. Thanks for answers!
And one more thing….in Layout of List of posts or in List of listings you can put Title on top, on the left and in background. Is it possible to put it on the right?
Ad weather widget: You can set a weather widget background in the widget settings.
Ad sidebar background: you can use the following CSS, but it won’t look good without some additional customization.

Ad archive layout: I am sorry but that’s not possible without some customization.
About weather widget. Where excatly can i set backround picture on weather widget. I recently bought Townpress and there isn’t difficulty because there is choose image etc, In Townpress weather widget i don’t see where can i choose background picture
I am sorry, you are right, this feature is available only in TownPress. You can use this CSS:
.lsvr-pressville-weather-widget { background-image: url( 'https://your-image-url.jpg' ); background-size: cover; background-position: center 0; }
But again, this won’t look good without some additional customization.

thanks for a great theme! We’ve launched a municipality web on it and would like to import database of companies and services in the town.
We’ve got export in CSV/SQL format from legacy custom PHP app. It’s about 800 items, category, tags, opening hours, contact info etc. If needed, it should be not a problem to customise the dataset to match more what is expected by the listing plugin.
Is there any importing tool or could you provide any advises how this could be approached? What are the fields in the database to import to, is there any tutorial to get this done or if we could use some import tool?

Co sa tyka ID fieldov, tak pri editacii postu si zobrazte Custom Fields a tam uvidite vsetky IDcka fieldov specifickych pre dany post.
Co sa tyka taxonomii, tak najjednoduchsie ich nazvy zistite tak ze si otvorite adresar s temou a tam mate subory “taxonomy-X.php” kde X je systemovy nazov taxonomie. Podobne zistite napr. aj systemove nazvy custom post typov – pozriete sa na subory “single-X.php”.
To ze kde v DB sa tieto udaje ukladaju si vsak budete musiet nastudovat v dokumentacii WordPressu. To nie je nieco na co ma vplyv tema, pretoze to si riesi WP sam.

I am sorry but you are updating from a VERY old version. If you do not update regularly, then have to expect expect that some issues may appear when you jump versions like that. Try to add those attachments again via document post settings in admin. If it doesn’t work, then take a look into your child theme if you are not overriding some of the theme’s files which may need updating (see the complete changelog).

it is not possible to do it exactly like in the default archive page, but you can try to do it using either the LSVR Events widget or several LSVR Featured Event widgets.

I would like to change the color of the font in the Main Menu. I have multiple licensed copies of the Pressville theme and have used custom CSS code to make the menu a specific color and show the menu items in white font. It is working on my other sites, but not the new site that I am building. Can you please let me know if there is alternate CSS code I should be using? Here is what has been working on my other sites (the hex code for the background-color is specific to each site):

.header-navbar__inner a {color:#fff;}
h1 {font-size:2.1em;}

Hi, The Preville Posts widget is showing a blank tile as the first tile on the home page. It displays correctly on Guttenberg editor but not in browser. Settings for the block are Title on the left, 8 post, 3 columns and slider enabled. I’ve tried various configurations of these settings but it hasn’t fixed it. Any ideas? Thanks for all your help

there must be something wrong with the 3rd party script which handles the sliding, but I honestly never faced this issue. Try to change the number of posts for the block – try odd vs even numbers. Alternatively try to add some additional temporary posts to see how that would behave.

I wonder is it to do with post width? I disabled the slider and set to 3 posts, 3 columns. Now it is showing title on left, then two posts (correct alignment) then the 3rd post is on the next line. I’ll leave it like this so you can look.
I’ve just noticed there seems to be something wrong with the code of this whole page. Have you created it from the scratch using the Gutenberg editor? Because I see some WPBakery markup. Try to create a blank new page and just add Pressville Posts alone via Gutenberg (or WPBakery if you prefer it) to see if there still will be a blank space.
Dude, brilliant catch. I think when I started putting the home page together I started in WP Bakery and switched to Guttenberg part way through. Never thought it would have an impact. That’s it fixed now. Thank you so much.

you will need a 3rd party plugin to set OG meta data. SEO plugins are usually used for that. Or just override the directory archive page template file via child theme and you can add whatever code you want there.

Hi, is there a way to shoft some of the layout on the people listings? The actual listing page is fine but when I click in to a specific person, the email address, phone number, website etc are all overlapping the photo. Is there a way to shift these over so they are in line with the name and tital fields. See link to example below

portraits were meant to be used with the square aspect ratio. You can use the following CSS to fix the overlapping:
.lsvr_person-post-single .post__header--has-thumb { min-height: 200px; }
Shifting it to the side would require something more advanced, possible with need to change the theme code as well.

Ah, no that’s ok then, using square image will work better – it should fix the layout on the /people page as well then. I was getting a staggered layout by using different dimension photos so 1:1 ratio should fix that for me as well. Thanks for your help

Hi – I contacted you last week as I’ve still not been able to use the LSVR plugin on our site. I have tried manually unzipping and uploading but they’re still showing as “Your site doesn’t include support for the “lsvr-pressville-toolkit/posts” block. You can leave this block intact or remove it entirely.”
I’m not sure if I should try a fresh install, WITHOUT importing the demo content – could this be the issue?
I’m not sure what else to try, but either way it’s difficult to build the site, unless I resort to all shortcodes?

1.) do you mean blog post dates? have you created your page for posts and set int under Settings / Reading? https://www.greengeeks.com/tutorials/article/how-to-set-up-a-separate-wordpress-blog-page-for-your-posts/
2.) create a sidebar under Appearance / Customize / Custom Sidebars, then populate it with widgets under Appearance / Widgets and then assign it to events pages under Appearance / Customize / Events (separately for archive and detail pages). those URL params were meant only for the demo, you can enable all this under Appearance / Customize / Header on a regular site using the switches.
