Hello,
I am looking to optimize my website and want to implement the recommendations provided in Porto Speed Optimization wizard, however, I have some questions before I start it.
1. Under section Optimize Visual Composer & Shortcodes there are a lot of short codes (around 150) are unused and can be removed as per the wizard.
a) this will not break anything currently working, right?
b) how do i know if in future i want to use a feature and that couldn’t be used due to removed shortcode? I mean i am no expert here, so how do i figure out in future if something doesn’t work due to missing shortcode?
2. Section “Optimize Revolution Slider” says “This will help you to avoid loading revolution slider js/css resources for the pages that does not use revolution slider feature.”
a) so can i use the slider on those pages later on? how can it be done then?
3. If I install WP Super Cache and Fast Velocity Minify , does it mean that I cannot do any updates related to products also (addition/deletion) and any CSS styling? as i can see the note
“You should disable below plugins while development. They may affect your changes not applied.”
Please clarify these points, thanks in advance
Hello, @Sohail_Ch,
1. Yes, you only have to check those elements which you are not using on your site and you have to check your site all the pages and every element one by one which element you are using and which not.
1.a. Yes, it will not break if you follow the first point, which means only check those elements which you are not using on your site.
1.b. Obviously, the elements have some name, So in future, if you want any element which is checked from there, you simply have to go to Porto >> Speed Optimization Wizard >> Js Composer, and un-check that element and click on compile button, after that you will be able to use that element.
2. Yes, if you check that option then it will remove the default JS/CSS of the Slider Revolution to load on the pages of your site which helps in boosting your site Speed.
2.a. Yes, you can use Slider Revolution on those pages as well later-on, you just have to un-checked the option again from there, and on pages, you will use Slider Revolution, it will provide you the Options to check those page from Porto >> Speed Optimization Wizard >> Slider Revolution as well.
3. Yes, obviously those are cache plugins and store the data in it and prevents to show the changes, that is why we always recommended to use and configure those plugins at very last when your development will be completed.
And please try to contact via our support system for such long issues and explanation, this platform is only used for small queries and presale questions. Thanks for your understanding.

Hello guys, how to decrease the height of this bar chart block, it is very disproportionate on the page. I would like to leave it with a maximum height of 500px. Another thing, the dots can be colored according to the color chosen on the panel? Awaiting return

Hello, @robertoferreira.
You have to use Custom CSS, Please copy and paste the below-given CSS code to Porto >> Theme Options >> Skin >> Custom CSS and check back your site after removing the browser cache.
canvas.vc_line-chart-canvas {
height: 600px !important;

It worked, but he flattened the caption with the ages of each bar. How to adjust?
http://lagoanova.rn.gov.br/boletim-covid-19/Hello, @robertoferreira.
Sorry to say that but this is the only possible way, as this is the WP Bakery element, and if that CSS is not working for you then remove it and do not use it.
Regards, P-THEMES.

Hello! Please tell me how to translate the text of the “View More” button in the “FAQ” block (using the WPML)? I found these lines, and translated them into the languages that I need. But the translation doesn’t work.
Hello, @NaumKo,
If you are using Porto FAQ element, then it means it is coming from Porto Functionality plugin, so you have to translate it into the Porto Functionality plugin language files, and if you already translated it then please contact us via our support system with your site WP Admin Login details so that we will check it for you.
Am hoping for some assistance with regards to the Woo Product Archive pages. I have Porto set to “Enable Image Hover Effect” = Yes. I also have the “Dynamic Featured Image” plugin active.
My issue is this, I imported all the “gallery” images using the Woo Product Import functionality. Unfortunately, I am not seeing any gallery images on mouseover of the products.
Example here: https://novelteez.co.za/product-category/t-shirts-hoodies/geek-nerd-t-shirts-hoodies/
If you mouseover the “Darth Vader Nevermind” product, you see the gallery image. This one I added manually. But all the ones that I imported do not seem to have the mouseover image swop functionality. I have checked and all images imported into Media correctly and they are all associated to their individual products.
There is a LiteSpeed cache plugin, but I have tried to purge the cache as well as disable the plugin in the event I was seeing the cached version – but disabling the plugin did not change the output.
Hello, @SQLGuru,
I am sorry that you faced this issue, but as you already debugged it, This is not the Theme issue but this is your Import issue, basically whenever you will upload manually and set to the products like you did with “Darth Vader Nevermind” product, it runs the query and added the content into the DB and write queries to the Theme files that is the reason it again fetches that content whenever you test it, but with the Import Products, something wrong with the writable queries and DB, it has some issue with the DB and the content only uploaded and in media but not linked with the DB and Products which is creating the issue for you and I am sorry but Import/Export is not covered in the Theme Support Policy, It requires Customization, so I suggest you try again with any other Import/Export plugin or add them manually otherwise if you want our paid Customization services you can contact our Customization team as well.
And also could you please purchase support extension to get further support? Your 6 months of support period is expired from 04/05/2019. According to Envato support policy, renewing support is required for further support.
Thanks for your understand.
I have tried opening a different product, removing the gallery image, saving. Then opening the product again, adding a new gallery image, saving… and the mouseover is still not showing.
I will make a plan RE the support in a week or two.
Thanks as always!
Hello, @SQLGuru,
As I already explained that this is due to the Import many of the setting and queries not worked with Imported Products if anything went wrong with the Import because it does not linked properly with the DB and Queries Files, so you have to add the products again or try with any other method of Import, that’s all.
Regards, P-THEMES.
Perhaps I did not explain myself properly… I did not import the products this way. I only ran an import on SKU with 2 images for each product.
So in my mind, going into a product, removing the image, saving, editing again to assign a new image, saving should resolve the issue, no? But this does not seem to work either.
Hello, @SQLGuru,
OK, Please contact us via our support system with your site WP Admin Login details so that our experts will check it for you on your site.

Hello, @wadmn1,
First of all, thanks for showing your interest in Porto WordPress.
Yes, WP Bakery (Visual Composer) is the required plugin for using the Theme and it is already came with the Theme Package, so yes it is 100% compaitable with Porto WordPress Theme.

Hi Thank you.
I'm looking for theme for my new projects. Its e-commerce. I've check google pagespeed of porto demos, but they are showing just 15-30. Shops with side-menu has 15 points and "red" zone. Your theme has a lot of sales and good reviews, but may I ask you, are you going to change load of CSS and JS in near future for boost pagespeed ratings? Its necessary to get traffic from SEO.
Hello, @klondikex,
First of all, thanks for showing your interest in Porto WordPress.
We are sorry that you faced some problems working with our theme. But our theme is one of the most optimized on the market. In general, our theme is already optimized and don’t have too many resources to make your website slow. Most likely, your website performance suffers from the content you have added to your website. It may happen in case of too many plugins, large not optimized images or other resources. So we suggest you to remove unnecessary plugins, install some kind of JS & CSS optimizing plugins like Better WordPress Minify and a caching plugin like WP Super Cache or use WP Rocket for both tasks. Also, you can use GTmetrix tool to see what makes your website slow and optimize these parts of your website.
First of all, we would like to tell you that Google very often scores with 20-40 points mobile performance for 99% of websites built with WordPress. To get more points you need to have a really light page. For example remove all sliders, carousels and leave a few banners and products only. Then you will get a high result. But usually, our theme works very fast on mobile devices and don’t have any problems with performance. We suggest you test it on a few mobile devices and you will see that there are no real performance problems. Google PageSpeed gives you recommendations on how to improve the performance of your web site, but it does not actually measure the speed (aka loading time) of your website. If your site loads fast, you can safely ignore PageSpeed’s recommendations.
The traffic depends on a lot of different factors and not our theme only. The only argument from you was your website’s low score on Google Pagespeed. But it can’t be because of that if your real website speed is quite fast. We suggest you read an article from the WP Rocket team – one of the most experienced companies in terms of WordPress optimization.
https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/85-google-page-speed-grade-does-not-improve
Porto has optimized HTML, combined JS scripts, minified CSS, has style.css generator, conforms all the coding standards from WordPress (and it is checked and confirmed by Envato reviewers while uploading our theme to the market). We are always working on improving our theme’s speed and listen to all our customers’ reports. We release updates every 3-5 weeks so if any performance problems are reported they will be fixed asap.
Porto Comes with default Speed Optimization Wizard Option, you will find under Porto >> Speed Optimization Wizard, So you have to use it and Minify the JS and CSS from there as well and use any third-party plugin for Compressing and Optimizing your site Images and also use server cache as well.
Basically the Speed of the site is something which can be achieved using Customization, So I only able to suggest you the tested solution, Please read and follow the instructions written in this article:
https://smartwave.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/12000052420--10-porto-site-speed
Regards, P-THEMES.
That is good, but why demos here https://preview.themeforest.net/item/porto-responsive-wordpress-ecommerce-theme/full_screen_preview/9207399 have so low pagespeed rank? Why you didn’t all that you wrote?
Hello, @klondikex,
This is because it has a lot of content, images and JS to run which fetches the data from our server and it takes some time, this is not the normal page if you scroll down you will see the Demo’s loaded one by one and it takes time.
Regards, P-THEMES.
Hello, @klondikex,
Here is the result of our Demo:
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.portotheme.com/BlcLorkc
Obviously we have to update the Demo site as well with new contents so that is why it is not 100% and we will Optimize it too soon.
Regards, P-THEMES.
Hi, how to change Product Image Sizes? I see only thumbnail image size changing option in Appearance>Woocommerce>Product image
Hello, @ekkljs,
The Images settings of the products are coming from WooCommerce, Please read the below-given articles:
https://smartwave.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000052416--7-woo-image-sizes-changing
https://smartwave.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000052417--8-woo-images-looks-blurry-and-not-change-from-low-to-high
This is the default functionality of the WooCommerce new version as it does not provide the option to set height for the product image. it automatically resizes the image based on its width you set.
And some of the product layouts are default Theme layouts with the huge size of images, those will only be altered via Customization, You can change the default layout setting using WooCommerce setting.
That’s all.
Ok. But I don’t see image width change option either.(Appearance>Woocommerce>Product image) It only shows option for changing the width for thumbnail image. Where is the option to change product image width then?
Thank you. I found out it was disabled by an another plugin. I see single product layout is set to col-md-5 for image and co-md-7 for description. How to change col-md-5 to col-md-6 or 7 for image on single product page layout?
Hello, @ekkljs,
As I told you, you can not change the Pre-Built Layouts, If you want to use the different cols then try with different Pre-Built layouts and use which suits your requirements from Porto >> Theme Options >> WooCommerce >> Single Product.
OR
If you want to create your own layout then you can use “Custom Product Layout Builder” First of all, you have to go to Appearance >> Theme Options >> WooCommerce >> Single Product, you will find a new page layout called ”Custom Layout”: https://pasteboard.co/IFTy89J.png , after selecting this, you have to enable product_layout post type in visual composer role manager: https://pasteboard.co/IFTz9YN.png , Then you have to go to new Custom Post Type ”Product Layout” and add new Layout: https://pasteboard.co/IFTzEPi.png After that you can now create new product layout using Visual Composer Backend / Frontend editor: https://pasteboard.co/IFTA2q8.png , now save it and again go to Appearance >> Theme Options >> WooCommerce >> Single Product and select that layout from there and save changes: https://pasteboard.co/IFTAuFF.png , It will work for you.
You can read more about it here in Theme Documentation:
https://www.portotheme.com/wordpress/porto/documentation/woocommerce-product-layouts/
Hi, thanks for detail explanation! How do I import one of prebuilt product layout (default) then? I want to change the grid for product pic only so I just need to change a bit from one of prebuilt in product layout. Thank you.
Hello, @ekkljs,
You will find all the Pre Built layouts under Porto >> Theme Options >> WooCommerce >> Single Product and change anyone which better suits your requirements.
And if you have any issue remaining or the new issue then please generate the support ticket via our support system, this platform is only used for pre-sale questions and small queries.
Hello, @faraz1990,
You can check all our Pre-Built Demo’s here:

How Can I transition from Wpbakery to Elementor? Wpbakery is giving me constant headache and it does not seem to be updated more than one or two times per year… so it seems the developers abandoned the project? It seems like there is no other way, but to transition to Elementor.

Hello, @JohnS0N,
You can not use the Elementor Page Builder on WP Bakery Demo content and Vice Versa, so you have to start from scratch, please read the below-given comments.

https://themeforest.net/comments/24859804
And if you want to update the WP Bakery plugin, then delete the old version of the plugin from your site and download the latest version of the plugin from the below-given article and Install and Activate it on your site, it will work for you.

Thanks for your understand.
Thanks, just one more question. Do I have to actually “import” a given demo? Can’t I just deactivate wpbakery, activate elementor and then do the necessary settings myself? I don’t want that my widgets, menus are erased and unnecessary pages and images imported. Basically there is a lot of cleaning up to do if I import it. I just want to transition to elementor, because wpbakery seems like it’s poorly coded and conflict with everything. As you’ve seen above it gives me fatal errors..
Hello, @JohnS0N,
First of all, the WP Bakery version is also perfectly coded and there is no such issue the issue is only at your end, and as I explained above, you have to start from Scratch otherwise, it will create an issue for you.
And also could you please purchase support extension to get further support? Your 6 months of support period is expired from 12/06/2019. According to the Envato support policy, renewing support is required for further support.
