Hello, Can we hope to have a theme update before the end of the year or before the official release of wordpress 5.6. Wordpress 5.6 is due in a few days and I’m afraid that will definitely break the theme. For those who use the theme with an online store like me this is going to be a real problem.
Hey there,
It’s close to release
Codetipi
Hi Cubell! As the new Valenti 5.6.0 will not support shortcodes, as you reply to dejan123, what could we expect? That is, the engine will convert them to Gutemberg blocks then?
Hey Javac,
Valenti 5.6 will support shortcodes forever – it just is that Valenti won’t encourage you to use shortcodes any more as WordPress core no longer officially supports them.
As sites might have been using shortcodes for a long time, they will continue working fine, but from now on you should start moving to blocks instead of continuing using shortcodes for the best experience.
Codetipi
Thanks my friend! We’re looking forward 5.6 to optimize sites and solve things. Best!
It’s no problem
While waiting for the new update, can you share some of the new features that are coming with it. I mean, you mentioned you are making like big overhaul of the theme, so I would like to know what are we getting with it. Will we get features like the Zeen theme, like automatic Time Pop-up, Let’s Review, Slide in promo etc? I’m asking this because I’ve already have bought the Zeen theme but I gave up switching to it because there was a lot of work to be done. A lot of work because I’ve been using shortcodes in many of my articles, so switching to Zeen they would mess up because there are no shortcodes in Zeen. So here arise my second question, will the shortcodes still work with the new Valenti update?
Hey there,
If you open up a ticket for Zeen and request it be bumped up to Chris (Codetipi dev) he can help you getting the Valenti shortcodes working on Zeen. The reason they don’t automatically work is because WordPress officially deprecated them and no longer supports shortcodes. So their use is highly discouraged – this is why Zeen doesn’t come with shortcodes, instead it comes with unique custom made Gutenberg blocks to replace them.
Re new Valenti update, you can see the work-in-progress changelog at the bottom of the Valenti description page here on themeforest

Hi, I wanted to ask when the next update will be released?
Hey Morphys,
The latest beta went out today to the active beta testers, so it’s getting close
If you’re interested in testing it and your hosting offers a staging site feature for your site, please open a ticket at http://codetipi.ticksy.com titled “Valenti Beta Test” and include the staging site url where you’ll be testing it, so that if you discover any issues, you can share exact reference url for it to be investigated.
Codetipi
Hi, I wanted to ask if there was an easy way to get author’s profile image to show up on mobile? By default it is not doing that. Thanks
Hey there,
Please open a ticket at http://codetipi.ticksy.com and someone from the support team look into it for you.
Codetipi
Codetipi will this be an update to the theme or will this be a new theme?
Hey Sjgold,
I replied to your 15Zine question just now, hope it helped
Re the new Valenti update, it is indeed a new update for Valenti. It is a big re-write of the Valenti engine which does essentially make it a new theme, but keeping Valenti’s soul on top
Codetipi
That plug in seems excellent will it be included in valenti update? I have no idea if I should get the plug in only the 15zine or wait for valenti. Help
Yeah it will also be included in Valenti in the next update
I am planning to buy this.. do you plan to update it? as I can see last version was uploaded in 2017
Hey Rajpootathar,
Thanks for checking out Valenti
Yes, there is a big new update coming to Valenti (v5.6). It is currently under going beta testing and once it passes all the tests, it will be released.
As Valenti is such a popular theme and this new update changes so many things under the hood, it requires extensive beta testing to minmize any problems for existing users.
Other popular themes release big updates and break the sites of thousands of users. Codetipi doesn’t do that type of thing. Codetipi is all about quality and happy customers. Which some times can take a bit longer to do!
Hope this info helps.
Codetipi
Is there any timeframe for the update? Otherwise i really have to move to another theme which i not prefer
Hi Pie123,
The latest beta for v5.6 is being sent to beta testers this week. That’s the latest info I can share publicly.
Codetipi
Hi guys, will 5.6 have the ability for reviews to just be one simple final score and not have multiple criteria?
Hey Sjgold,
Yes
Codetipi
Hi. I bought the theme, but I can’t edit it. There are no options for widgets and among others to customize the main page. What should I do?
Hey Marco,
Thanks for choosing Valenti, hope you enjoy using it.
What do you mean by no options for widgets? Which widgets are you using that has no options? In Valenti you don’t use widgets to build the main page, you use the Valenti layout builder. Check the documentation to learn how to use it, it’s really easy
Hope this helps.
Codetipi
Thanks for the feedback.
At first I was having trouble building my website, but I managed to develop a lot. I would like to know about the translation of the topic, as my site is in Portuguese and some words in English appear on the main page. Since I haven’t done the translation yet, is that the reason?
Another issue is that the Grid 4 module does not work completely on the main page. The two largest images are missing.
Finally, I bought the theme in the last few days. Is the purchase of the theme permanent or annual? As I didn’t see any options at the time of purchase, I’m in doubt.
Hug. Awaiting return.
You’re welcome.
Re the translation – I don’t believe any Brazilian sites have sent the Brazilian Portuguese translation files. However, in the upcoming v5.6 update the translation has been completely re-done to include every single string in the theme (including backend), so best to wait for that update before creating the translation file.
Re the theme license – each license is a lifetime license for one site. You only need to renew support after 6/12 months if you need theme support and your support time has expired.
Hope this helps.
Codetipi
Thanks again for the return. About the v5.6 update, will it come to me via any WordPress plugin or dashboard? When updating, does the site have its settings reset? And when is this update scheduled?
The update is under going beta testing right now, you have valid support so you can become a beta tester too if you like. Simply open a ticket at http://codetipi.ticksy.com titled “Valenti beta testing” and you’ll be sent all the instructions.
I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s been 2 years since your are saying the 5.6 version is coming soon. 2 years! That’s so unprofessional! I’ve been using this theme for almost 6 years now and I’m waiting 2 years for an update. Am I forced to move to another theme because I cannot update my WP and plugins to latest version and I’m at security risk? Tell us an exact release date, put all your recourses working on this issue. How many beta testers do you need, how many do you currently have and how long it will be in that state?
Hi there,
Valenti v5.6 is under development. Unlike other themes, v5.6 is a full rewrite of the theme’s entire engine. Essentially it’s a brand new theme under the hood. Other themes simply patch over old issues and bolt on new features on top of creaking engines, which as you’d expect – is not great for modern performance, future-proofing, longevity, etc. V5.6 is currently under beta testing, but just to be clear v5.5.6 has zero known security issues in it, so it is not unsafe to be using it.
Codetipi
Version 5.5.6? I have version 5.5.4 and the Envato Market plugin doesn’t offer any update. Also I tried downloading the zip file and manually install it, but still it’s version 5.5.4. How can I install that 5.5.6 version?
Ah sorry, got confused, I meant 5.5.4 has zero known security issues in it
Does anyone know how to turn the article schema off on Valenti? Its creating an additional one to my SEO software and I cannot find it in the theme options. Thanks
Hey again,
Please open a ticket at the support system for any theme support: http://codetipi.ticksy.com
Codetipi
Sorry but you have been helping people on these open questions with simple statements, for example, kdmitchell2776 , why am I being treated differently? I just want to know where to block the calling of the theme article schema?
is it this in single.php?
line 51 line 52 line 53 <?php cb_schema_meta( $post ); ?>
For exactly that reason, kdmitchell2776 has valid support. Please stop questioning all this, it isn’t Codetipi policy. It is Themeforest policy. You will not receive any more responses from us here. For any further theme support, you will need to open a ticket.
I paid for your support subscriptions for lets review, Chris has not responded in 4 days. Thats slower than most free forum support services.
Chris is the dev, he’s not officially part of the support team
Tickets escalated to him can some times take longer, but as you already know from using Codetipi products for years, will always reply as soon as he is able to.
Just extended support to ask you some questions regarding the new update… But doesn’t work, it says me support is expired.
Hey Jay,
Ah that must be because Envato’s server cache refreshes every now and then, it should definitely be validated now though and your account should be able to do it now.
Hope it’s all good.
Codetipi
I was wondering if is possible to remove the excerpt from both the main page of the theme and search results. I use this theme with my staff and some of them forget to add a manual excerpt, which causes the theme to grab the first couple of sentences or video embed code and it doesn’t look too good.
Same thing with the search results, so I rather just disable excerpts completely. I tried doing this in the theme editor, but I find any success doing this.
Thanks!
Hey there,
Do you mean to not show them at all? If so, copy/paste this into your custom css option in the theme options:
.cb-excerpt { display: none; }
Should do the trick.
Codetipi
Hello Codetipi, We’ve been waiting for a year for an update for your theme because there are issues with updating PHP. Are you going to release version 5.6 or not? If you are then please give us a release date instead of answering question with smart replies giving no real information on when you’re going to sort these issues out!
Hey there,
Yes, v5.6 is 100% going to be released. It is in beta at the moment and you can get your hands on it too if you can become a beta tester. The v5.6 beta is already 100% compatible with all the latest versions of everything (PHP, Gutenberg, WordPress, etc).
Codetipi
Thanks for your reply.
Could you at least let us all know if v5.6 will be released this year (2020) or are you planning to put us all out of our misery in 2021?
It’s no problem
And yes, it’s 100% coming 2020. Latest beta is nearly finished and will go out to all beta testers within a week.
Guys it would be useful to know if there are any bugs we should be aware of in the theme that make updating to 5.5 a bad move. I see constant reference to image problems, as 2 have stated above and one other before. I understand jquery helper needs to be installed but beyond that can you vouch for 5.4 Valenti being compatible 100%?
Hey there,
Valenti is not marked as officially compatible with WP 5.5 yet as that update breaks a lot of things (lots of plugins are having issues with it for example), so if you have a staging site (most hostings offer this feature), test it all there to see if your exact set up works fine.
Codetipi
Thanks for the reply but in regards to your own theme, what specific areas are not compatible? Note, jquery helper should mitigate most plugin issues.
Hi again,
Valenti isn’t marked as officially compatible with WP 5.5 here on Themeforest yet, so I can’t really advise at the moment. If you have a staging site, you can test it all there to ensure your exact set up combination all works.
Codetipi
That is a shame, seems like the current theme is no longer being actively supported. I get that you are working on a ‘big update’ but we do not know when that will be. It would be great if little things like the bread crumbs structured data markup validity and 5.5 were accounted for sooner rather than wait for the fabled 5.6 Valenti.
What do you mean by no longer supported? The theme is 100% actively supported. You can open a ticket about it at any time and will get an answer.
And v5.6 isn’t a fable
you can become a beta tester to help test it right now.
There is a difference though between a support ticket for an individual problem and ensuring a theme is actively compatible with any version of WP.
I remember 5.6(*) being mentioned almost 3 years ago so it will be some relief when it does come out.
But in the meantime, the issues I mentioned shouldn’t need a support ticket to get actioned on. There are known issues theme-wide which I am sure you are well aware off such as the structured data problem with the breadcrumbs that deprecated in April 2020.
Back then I remember during a support ticket discussion you assured me that you would update the current theme with a fix for it so everyone can use it. That has yet to happen.
These are ‘quick’ fixes for everyone that does not need an entirely new theme to remedy. It would also help retain confidence in the current theme until the new one is ready.
I completely understand, but the issue is that nothing is ever quick when it comes to code
The theme has been COMPLETELY re-written for 5.6, so the old code is no longer something that will even exist after the update. You can get the beta v5.6 version right now and help beta test to ensure all the issues you have seen are fixed. That would be truly helpful and you can use the beta test on your live site if you don’t see any issues too.
Codetipi
I get you have 5.6 in the oven but what would really help build confidence in moving to 5.6 is continual updates on what we have now. Currently the theme is a security risk and not compatible with the latest WP.
That’s what 5.6 is though, in order to make it compatible with WordPress 5.5, Gutenberg, latest WooCommerce, PHP 7.4, etc, lots of code needed to be re-written and new code added. I wish it were a simple one line change to fix any issues with the latest WP, but unfortunately it isn’t.
V5.6’s new base framework is going to allow the theme to get continuous and frequent updates for the foreseeable future, to allow for quickfix updates, lots of new features, new demos, etc.
In other words, this version is the most important theme update it has had since v1.0. If you can become a beta tester to confirm the issues you encountered are all sorted, that would be really helpful. If they aren’t, you can report all the details and it will be fixed in the next beta test version.
Codetipi
Unfortunately we do not have a staging site to do that. How about you send me zipped copy for my local server?
The problem is that if you see any issues you wouldn’t be able to send the url to check it out live. Reporting bugs with just text can sometimes be very difficult/slow to debug. But if you don’t have any other way, go ahead and open a ticket and it’ll be sent to you to test to see what happens.
You mean pay $41.13 to see what happens?
You need valid support for any kind of theme support, this is Themeforet’s policy, not Codetipi’s. And by see what happens, I mean if you find issues, you can report them and hopefully they’re easily reproducible to be able to work on them.
Yeah but we are in this situation because the current theme is not compatible with WP 5.5.
The current version isn’t marked as compatible with it on the Themeforest page though. Valenti v5.6+ is the only version that is officially WP 5.5+ compatible, as well as everything else (PHP 7.4, WooCommerce 4.x, etc).
So if someone pays $40 support money to theme forest to ask you to update the current theme version to be compatible to WP 5.5 you will do it?
Valenti v5.6 is under heavy development, it will be the official version of the theme that will be officially compatible with latest WP/PHP/etc. It is currently in beta and Valenti customers can become beta testers to help test it thoroughly in various set ups to minimize problems for users upgrading to it.
This has nothing to do with Themeforest or their support policy :/
My question though is if I give you a support ticket stating here are the things not compatible with wp5.5 – will you fix the current version so it will be or no you will not? That has nothing to do with Themeforest.
Oh right, sorry I misunderstood what you meant earlier. If you open a ticket and ask for it to be forwarded to Chris, depending on his work schedule he can indeed try to help you with that. But you won’t be able to get full compatibility without 5.6, all he can do is fix any error messages you may be experiencing.
Ok so the bottom line this current version wont get tweaked to be compatible and all eggs are now in the 5.6 basket.
5.6 is a tweaked version of the current one to be compatible with everything though
Not really a tweak since you have been talking about if for a few years. You also did promise to fix the breadcrumb structured data issue before April 2020 on the current one but that didn’t happen.
The breadcrumb is completely fixed already too, but it’s part of a wider framework change. It isn’t possible to patch 5.5.4, it needed a re-write. Hence 5.6 being a big re-write
And the theme is essentially brand new behind the scenes, which is why it has taken so long.
Probably would have been better to have done this before Zeen since you have existing customers now unable to update for months. Creates a security problem and potential plugin issues the longer we go without the update. This is not a matter of a few days or weeks, its been years. Sorry to say that but I left feeling distinctly let down and considering moving to a new theme after 6 years.
There are no known security problems in Valenti. Again, you can get access to the beta if you would like to become a beta tester. The theme has powered your site for over 6 years, it’s the most important piece of a WordPress site, surely you’d want to help a bit?
Not sure why you chose to answer this and not the more important one I posted yesterday.
Hi,
When I change anything in Theme Options, ex. number of grid on homepage, nothing changes.
any idea?
Marek
Hi Marek,
That sounds really odd, check if you have a very aggressive cache plugin running that may be doing this.

Hello again, i am facing a problem with Valenti Post Format Gallery : https://ibb.co/ZJLFVr3 i am not able to add Images to the gallery as before, i tried to disable all plugins, i can’t see ” Select or Upload images ” : https://ibb.co/ZJLFVr3

Hey there,
You might need to install the official jQuery migrate plugin that WordPress core released if you want to use the latest WordPress version.
Codetipi
can you teach me how to do this please? appreciated
I installed the plugin ” https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/ ” and still facing same problem, can you advice what should i do ? Thanks
Hi Tay,
You’ll need to open a ticket and explain the exact issue. The support team can investigate and try to help you out. These comments aren’t really intended for support.
Codetipi
Hello Amazing team, please we are still waiting the update from long timee
i am so excited, any fix date ??
Hey there,
I completely understand and trust me very hard work is going on behind the scenes. A migration tool is being made to speed up the 5.5.6 -> 5.6 update process, it all takes time unfortunately as this new update is essentially creating a new theme behind the hood.
You can follow the Codetipi Facebook page: http://facebook.com/codetipi as the release will be announced there first

Hello! My hosting service informed me that imunifyAV is tagging the file library/core.php as infected, but the file manager records showed that the file has not been modified since I installed the theme, so I just downloaded all the theme again and replaced the one that was on the hosting but it is still been tagged as infected. Is there any plan to update the theme soon? I think it is a new rule on imunifyAV because some days ago it was all ok. Thank you!
Hey Javdesigner,
That is really strange. Unless your site was hacked and files edited, then there is literally zero malicious code in the theme. It is either a false positive or your site has unfortunately been hacked. Hacks happen all the time on WordPress as hackers target it relentlessly as it’s so popular. They can occur from anything too, such as a hosting backdoor, vulnerabilities opened when using “cracked/nulled” plugins or themes, or even by being on a shared hosting server and another site on the same server was hacked.
If you have more info on the exact line of code, open a ticket at http://codetipi.ticksy.com and share it all there and ask for the ticket to be escalated to Chris (Codetipi dev), he can investigate and let you know if it’s part of the theme or not.
Hope this helps.
Codetipi
Hello! Yes, it was a false positive, kind of, I just updated wordpress and all is ok now. Thank you for your help!
Great news and you’re welcome
