Pre-sales question: can the color for the “orange” theme be easily changed to something else? Thanks!
Hello, thank you for your interest in Podcaster. Yes color pickers in the them options can be used to change the orange background color.
Hi I want to buy this theme and i had a few questions for you. The language of my podcast is Persian, can I easily make language changes in the form of a theme?how? My podcast is hosted on Anchor, can I put embed Player in the front page header and all episodes?
Hello, thank you for your interest in Podcaster. The theme comes with a language file, which means it’s translatable, and the translation has to be done using software like PoEdit.
Yes, Anchor players can be embedded and displayed on the front page header and all episodes.
I hope this answers your questions, if anything is unclear, just let me know. I’d be happy to help.
never mind!
Hi, I have a problem. Without any explanation the theme no longer displays my podcasts. Could you help me? Thanks
I solved by deactivating and activating plugin.
Thanks for the feedback, happy to hear you resolved it.
Hello! I’ve been helping a friend who owns Podcaster for a few years now. We’re looking to implement infinite scrolling, either on-theme or using Jetpack. Do you provide this feature? If not, can you please provide: navigation selector, next selector, content selecto and item selector, please? That way I can build the implementation myself. Thanks!
Hello, could you let your friend open a support ticket using the account they used to purchase Podcaster. I’d be happy to look into it for him, just open the ticket here: https://themeforest.net/item/podcaster-multimedia-wordpress-theme/6804946/support
Will do. His name is Dennis. He’ll be in touch.
Did 2.0 destroy the audio player? It’s no longer showing up on the homepage or the audio pages…
Hello,
Please check if you are running the Podcaster Media 1.3, an update notification should have appeared on your dashboard. If not, please go to Plugins > Installed Plugins, find Podcaster Media in the list and click on the update link. They players should be back after updating to 1.3.
We are running 1.1 and there hasn’t been any update notifications.
When you go to Plugins > Installed Plugins and scroll to Podcaster Media you should see a link that says “Update required”, right below the plugin name. Please click on that link, to perform the update. That should do the trick.
No nothing, it just says Deactivate, visit plugin site, etc.. no download link. No update required text.. nothing.
Ok, in that case could you let me know what version of Podcaster you’re using real quick?
We are using 1.99 since when I switched to 2 I was having a lot of elements disappear, the audio element on homepage (doesn’t work even with 1.99) and then the audio element on the audio posts pages. And yes I went in and updated my child theme files. What I can do is upgrade to 2 after a backup and then check to see if there is an update to the media plugin (although I would have seen that there was an update the last time I did that.) Or I can download a new copy here on themeforest and see if the update to the plugin is there.
Ok yes, I just reinstalled using the full download and that worked. It looks like the updates within wordpress doesn’t quite pull in all requirements and I don’t ever see the plugins updated within the admin. It is up and working now though!
Happy to see that resolved the issue for you. Do keep in mind that if a caching plugin is active, changes also take some time to appear, as well. Just in case you are using one.
Hello, it’s been a while (3-4 months) now that the Widget “Recent Posts” that comes with the theme doesn’t work properly on my site (https://radiovanloon.info). I was hoping you noticed the bug, but apparently the last release doesn’t fix it. Here some details: back-end: https://frama.link/BgR9n5c- result: https://frama.link/CpLwhkpb Thanks for you help!
Hello, thanks for the feedback. As of now, the widgets work fine on my end. Could you let me know what version of Podcaster and Podcaster Widgets you are running? I’ll look into this for you. Thanks!
Is that I need to manually update the Child Theme? Can you please show me where can I find those files and if I eventually can just upload it via sftp and subscribe it to the old directory?
Thanks!
Thanks for the info. Just a heads up, I took a look at your site using the browser console and a plugin named “2 Click Social Media Buttons” seems to be throwing an error and stopping all other JavaScript on the page from working. (including from the popular posts widget). This could be what is actually causing it.
Could you test this for me and deactivate the plugin “2 Click Social Media Buttons” and take a look at the page again? If you are using a caching plugin, I recommend flushing it or turning it off so the changes are visible. Let me know if you can see the widget after that or not. Thanks!
Thank you very much, that plugin was in fact causing the problem. It’s a pity they stopped updating it, because it was a simply and good idea to “mute” all social network and leave the choice to users (and if anyone here knows how to reach the same result of “2 Click Social Media Buttons”, please tell me!).
I was just trying to go deeper on this issue and noticed the player was also blocked. This time was not that plugin, but a earlier version of your “Podcaster Media” (I was still running v. 1.2). Indeed, I didn’t receive any notification for this update and I could find it only going through the theme’s options > Install plugins. It work perfectly now, but it could be useful to have this kind of update notified as any other else in the Plugin tab.
Thanks a lot!
Yeah, it happens to plugins sometimes, not much you can do unfortunately.
As for Podcaster Media, you should have seen a notification for the update, but it’s easily dismissed, so chances are the box didn’t appear. This feedback will be taken into account for the next update. Happy to see you managed to update.
About the child theme, child themes are not updated alongside the parent theme, since they contain the customizations and overrides you make to the theme. They are meant to preserve these changes when the parent theme is updated. This means that depending on the files you edited, you might have to keep an eye on the parent theme, to make sure changes made to the parent theme are applied to the child theme. I hope this helps!
Having a bit of a panic as launching site in about five hours. The media player (on home and podcast page) was displaying two days ago, and suddenly disappeared yesterday. Custom colors and transparent players are on – not sure what else to do. Theme also updated this morning though this issue started before the update i think. Also tried embedding (anchor.fm) and that didn’t work. Please help, thanks!
Hello, sorry about that. To resolve this, please go to Plugins > Installed plugins and check on the version of Podcaster Media installed. If it is not version 1.3 and you are not seeing an update notification, deactivate and delete it manually.
Then go to Appearance > Install plugins and install the version of Podcaster Media listed there. After activating, the players should be back. Let me know if this helps.
Thank you for your response – it works now. I am using an audio embed code. Can you change the appearance of the embedded media player or is that only on uploaded files? Also, is there a way to change the podcast header to an image (only seems to work for the blog page – I’m using the Note theme). Thanks!
Happy to hear that! The look can only be changed for uploaded files. Embedded players keep the design of the provider they are from.
You can change the header for audio posts by going to Podcaster > Theme Options > Podcast > Audio header > Single header display and selecting “Featured image in background”.
Hi First…great job! a pre buy question, can one have video thumbnail on the home page like in http://demo.themestation.co/podcaster-art/ but: 1. that it start directly from home page 2. it does link away 3. in all the post not just hero image cheers
Hello, thanks for your interest in Podcaster. Currently, video players can only be displayed on the hero section. Video players cannot be set as thumbnails for posts. They all link back to the single post. I hope this answers your question.
ok…from what i understand the theme does not come with a pagebuilder…however can use elementor or other pagebuilders…is there one that is better for the theme so to speak?
Hello, thanks for your reply. Podcaster comes with a Gutenberg page and post template as well as two blank page templates that can be used with page builders. If you let me know which page builder you will be using, I’d be happy to look into it for you.
Hello elementor: https://elementor.com/ ? /cheers
Thanks for your reply. The elementor plugin can be used with the blank templates and should work fine. Please keep in mind that Podcaster is not built or optimized for Elementor, but simply gives an option to use third party page builders via the blank page templates only. I hope this answers your question
yes…many thanks and thanks for the swift reply!
Sure, you’re welcome.
I can imagine that this theme may right for what I am planning. And I have pre-sales question:
You state “Podcasting Plugins Optimized for the following podcasting plugins: BluBrry PowerPress, Seriously Simple Podcasting”.
What are the repercussions if I want to use BuzzSprout or Libsyn?
Sure, no problem, thanks for your interest in Podcaster.
You can embed both the Buzzsprout and Libsyn players in each audio post (using the Podcaster Media plugin which is included in the purchase). It would look similar to this this: http://demo.themestation.co/podcaster-main/2019/02/17/audio-embed-code/
Or, you can cross-post from either Buzzsprout or Libsyn to your site using their plugins. In that case you will still have to add/embed their players manually if you wish to have the audio post layout. If not, the post will appear with the standard format layout with the player included within the content, not the header.
I hope this answers your question, if anything is unclear let me know.
Than you.
So, I guess that I would loose this “play” feature in the loop? http://demo.themestation.co/podcaster-main/Another question: I am actually looking for a solution to have a loop that shows normal text posts, video posts, and podcast posts.
So, you podcast features are great. But how they mix with the other two?
Yes, if the default front page template is active, the player is only displayed when an audio file is featured and linked directly (uploaded or linked to the mp3-File). Embedded players tend to be too bulky, so they are not displayed on the font page.
The blog front page template, displays the embedded players, as seen here: http://demo.themestation.co/podcaster-bold/ but they have to be added manually as well to be featured.
Sure, the episodes on the front page are picked up by selecting a category. If you don’t select a category, all posts are displayed including your episodes.
You can also use the blog template on the font page, which was used this this demo: http://demo.themestation.co/podcaster-bold/ or this: demo.themestation.co/podcaster-note/
I hope this helps, again if anything is unclear let me know.
Thank you. All good.
Hello, a quick question: does the Podcaster theme work with Mixcloud? Thank you.
Hello, are you looking to embed the players? If then yes! Mixcloud players can be embedded with every audio post you make.
How can I remove the top player in the archived section of the site? It was never there before.
https://13m.b22.myftpupload.com/podcast/ https://ibb.co/znsLgdMAnd how do I remove “Series: Trade Talks” from the individual post page?
https://13m.b22.myftpupload.com/podcast/137-imbalances-inequality-and-trade/And the main background image crop has changed.
Pre update https://www.tradetalkspodcast.com/ Post update https://13m.b22.myftpupload.com/Thanks for your help!
Hello, Thanks for your comment. Could you please send in your questions by opening a support ticket here: https://themeforest.net/item/podcaster-multimedia-wordpress-theme/6804946/support Just copy and paste is enough.
I would be happy to help with your questions via support. Thanks!
Hello,
Thanks for getting in touch.
I have replied to two of your tickets, one on the 9th of September, another on the 3rd September. I’m really sorry about this, not sure why my replies are not getting through to you. Please check your spam folder, they might have landed there by accident.
Please met me know if you found my other replies or if I should send them out again. I’ve sent this as a message to your email as well and I’ll attach links to my previous replies here:
http://themestation.co/tf/img/support/0309.png http://themestation.co/tf/img/support/0909.pngAgain, I apologize for the inconvenience.
Thanks for your response here. For some reason I am not getting emails. I do have one last support ticket question that I’ll submit and perhaps you can respond on here just in case I don’t get it.
Hello,
Thanks for understanding. Not sure what may be going either. What may help is adding the support email “hello@themestation.co” to your contacts. That might stop it from being filtered out as spam, if that is the case.
To your question, I’ll answer it here instead:
From what I can tell, that is an archive page, it usually picks up the same of the category being used. I picked up on the CSS class “fpt-template-podcaster” being in use. If a plugin is being used to create this page, let me know what it’s called and I’ll look into it for you.
Hello,
Thanks for your reply and patience.
About editing archive.php, I always recommend using a child theme when editing code, since your changes will be overwritten as soon as you perform an update. So if you haven’t done that, I recommend looking into that. A blank child theme is already included among your purchased files, so you can use that as a starting point. I also recommend these articles:
https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/ https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/#adding-template-filesFor the background header centering, please try the following:
body.has-featured-image .front-page-header.has-header .background_image .parallax, body.has-featured-image .latest-episode.front-header .background_image .parallax { background-position: top center !important; background-size: cover; }
I added an ”!important” to make sure the override is picked up. The “background-size:cover” is optional, you can remove it if it doesn’t work for you. It makes sure your background cover is fit into narrower mobile frames as well as wide desktop screens.
New posts are not showing up on the front page. I have the slider enabled for the 3 most recent posts, using 1.9.5. http://RunningAFEVER.com. I published posts on 8/19 and 8/26, neither are showing up. Any ideas?
Hello, the newly added posts seem to be appearing within the blog page http://runningafever.com/blog/. I recommend checking if the newest episodes have also been filed to the podcast archive category, the one that is also set within the theme options (under Podcaster > Theme Options > Podcast > Podcast archive). Adding them to that category, should resolve the issue.
I hope that helps!
That did it! Can’t believe I didn’t know that. Thanks!
Sure, no problem. Happy that worked!
Is the captivate player supported?
Hello, thanks for showing interest in Podcaster. Is the captive player embeddable? If yes, could you post a sample embed code so I can look into it for you? You can also open a support ticket (https://themeforest.net/item/podcaster-multimedia-wordpress-theme/6804946/support), if you don’t want to post the code here. Thank you.
Here’s an example https://help.captivate.fm/en/articles/3091418-embedding-the-captivate-podcast-player-on-your-website (scroll down)
Thank you for the link. Yes, the Captivate.fm player is supported and can be included in posts by using their iframe embed code. Hope that helps
Hi, I have a problem with podcast template after automatic updating of wordpress to version 5.5. The main menu has become “floating menu” and no longer works. You can check for yourself. (https://ascoltaremusica.info). Could you help me solve? Thanks
Hello, thanks for getting in touch, just a heads up that your email has been replied to. – Theme Station Support
Hi, I updated the wordpress today and some of the theme features like image import or set image as featured in the post page are not working properly. Please help.
Hello, I’m sorry to hear about that, I’ll look into it for you. Could you open a support ticket here: https://themeforest.net/item/podcaster-multimedia-wordpress-theme/6804946/support
and include the following information:
- current version number of WordPress
- current version number of Redux Framework (it was recently renamed to Redux Lite)
- screenshot of what you see when you try to set an image as featured or upload an image.
Thank you!
Redux Framework version 4.1.5 is ready to download and I just want to make sure that this theme is compatible with 4.x? since I currently have 3.x installed. Thank!
Hello, Podcaster is compatible with Redux Framework 4.1.6.
The only things currently not working properly are the presets and the max-height/max-width settings for the logo. Fixes for these will be included in the next update.
Ok thank you, everything looks good. thanks again!
Happy to hear that helped!
Buenas, al intentar importar la demo me da Error: OK (200)
Hello, just a heads up unfortunately I’m only able to give replies and English. I hope that is okay for you.
- Could you open a support ticket here: https://themeforest.net/item/podcaster-multimedia-wordpress-theme/6804946/support
- Please include the contents of the import log file in the support ticket. You can find the log file by going to Media > Library. It should be called “log_file_xxxx.txt”
- Also: could you let me know which demo you imported and if the demo import still worked. Sometimes you might get an error message, but the import still goes through. If that is the case, you don’t have to worry about the error.
Thank you!
Hi I installed the Theme but every time I try to change anything and save in the theme options I get this : There was a problem with your action. Please try again or reload the page.
What do I do?
Hello, just a heads up, your support email was replied to.
Hi, just purchased youtr theme, i cannot install the theme when i select the theme in appearance to upload, the proceees freezee on DECOMPRESSING THEME. PLEASE HELP ME
Hello, sorry to hear about that. Here are some things I can recommend for what is going on:
- Make sure you are uploading “podcaster.zip” and not the entire folder from Themeforest which also includes other files not part of the actual theme.
- Restart your PC and browser, clear your browser cache, log out and log back in again. Then try again.
- Use FTP to upload the theme files. You can find out how to do that here: http://themestation.co/documentation/podcaster/#install-ftp
- Look into the server settings from your hosting company. Typically there is a limited amount of time (set by your host) that it will upload a file. If a file takes long to upload, it might fail.
If this keeps happening, could you include a screenshot of what you see when the upload freezes? Any error message would be very helpful. You can open a support ticket here: https://themeforest.net/item/podcaster-multimedia-wordpress-theme/6804946/support
Trying uploading again, im only uploading the theme not the entire folder, same, the screen freezees in Decompressing, just before uploading
Thank you for your reply. Could you let me know which of the suggestions from my previous reply were tried before you attempted to upload the theme again? Especially asking your hosting company about uploading larger files as well as trying to upload the theme by FTP instead, if it won’t upload through the browser. That will make it easier to look into the issue.
You can open a support ticket here: https://themeforest.net/item/podcaster-multimedia-wordpress-theme/6804946/support Please include a screenshot of what you see when the screen freezes.
Thanks!
