HI i am making some changes to my site but i cant find the area where you can edit the top left before the logo, i am using UFarm and it is the area where social media icons are and the following text: Questions? +(000) 987-6543

Can you tell me where i can edit this text in wordpress admin?

Hello,@darsryan,

You can change/modify it from U-design >> Settings >> Menu Options >> Secondary Menu and edit the Text Area as showing below, you can change the social icons and number from there as well as per your requirements.

Thanks for your understand.

The section google analytics in the options theme isn’t available anymore. How can we enter the code ga?

Hello, @nrstrategies,

In order to insert Google Analytics, you may use the theme’s hooks/filters API and a “child” theme.

Furthermore, you can read more about it here on this topic:

Thank you!

You’re Welcome!! :)

Can you somehow add an option to either disable OR combine all the CSS files loaded with this theme, as it’s affecting Google PageRank by loading 7 CSS files as a basic requirement for the theme (reset.css, 960.css, superfish.css, global/style.css, global/custom_style.css, responsive.css, fluid.css). I’m sure you can combine all of those into a single /global/style.css file or something more PageRank (and load time) friendly without breaking any functionality. This just keeps coming up as the biggest issue on Page Insights and any other PageRank / load time test.

Hello, @crazyserb.

We are sorry that you faced some problems working with our theme. But our theme is one of the most optimized on the market. In general, our theme is already optimized and don’t have too many resources to make your website slow. Most likely, your website performance suffers from the content you have added to your website. It may happen in case of too many plugins, large not optimized images or other resources. So we suggest you to remove unnecessary plugins, install some kind of JS & CSS optimizing plugins like Better WordPress Minify and a caching plugin like WP Super Cache or use WP Rocket for both tasks. Also, you can use GTmetrix tool to see what makes your website slow and optimize these parts of your website.

First of all, we would like to tell you that Google very often scores with 20-40 points mobile performance for 99% of websites built with WordPress. To get more points you need to have a really light page. For example remove all sliders, carousels and leave a few banners and products only. Then you will get a high result. But usually, our theme works very fast on mobile devices and don’t have any problems with performance. We suggest you test it on a few mobile devices and you will see that there are no real performance problems. Google PageSpeed gives you recommendations on how to improve the performance of your web site, but it does not actually measure the speed (aka loading time) of your website. If your site loads fast, you can safely ignore PageSpeed’s recommendations.

The traffic depends on a lot of different factors and not our theme only. The only argument from you was your website’s low score on Google Pagespeed. But it can’t be because of that if your real website speed is quite fast. We suggest you read an article from the WP Rocket team – one of the most experienced companies in terms of WordPress optimization.

https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/85-google-page-speed-grade-does-not-improve

Furthermore, for you, I am forwarding this to our development department for considering to add it in the theme, but I am not giving you the guarantee for that because please note that a theme cannot satisfy all requirements as it may occur theme heaviness. Sometimes it may require your own customization. So if the development department finds it fit with the theme environment then surely they will look through it.

And also could you please purchase support extension to get further support? Your 6 months of support period is expired from 02/03/2016. According to Envato support policy, renewing support is required for further support.

Thanks for your understand.

Thanks for a lengthy reply, and I am aware of all that, but it seems like WP Rocket guys who wrote that article aren’t aware of the fact that low score in PageRank (high FCP and LCP values) carry over into Google Search console and affect the rank in Google due to pages marked as “slow”. But I wouldn’t expect them to know that as they are not marketers who rely on Google Search and Google rankings, solely based on PageRank itself.

And as an optimization expert here, I have to disagree with your assessment that your theme is the most optimized out there. Sorry, but if it was I wouldn’t have been here making comments and asking you to optimize it. As I stated, there is ZERO need for you to make 7 separate calls to 7 separate CSS files during every single page load, when all those could be combined into a single file, in specific order in which they need to be loaded, and then minified as well (as there is no even an option to minify them, to turn that ON/OFF, let alone to combine them into a single file).

If you knew anything about optimizing things in terms of load times you would know that every separate call to another file counts, and the less calls made the better. You wouldn’t have ever allowed for 7 CSS files to be called BEFORE we even include our own child theme CSS style.css. You have them properly separated and organized and responsive CSS properly set up, etc, but you’re missing this last crucial step.

As far as our PageRank goes, we have noticed a 30 point improvement by simply switching from your theme to default WP theme on a site that has about 60 active plugins, and have gone from 65-70 to 95+ PageRank score. And the main difference in “Eliminate render-blocking resources” section in Page Insights was having 60% less files listed (as we cut down the loaded files by your theme from 9-10 down to 2 files).

Just saying… don’t assume that your customers don’t really know what they’re talking about, as some of us have been doing this for a long time and get paid to do this for living. I am not knocking your theme down at all, as we are still using it and are happy customers. I am just suggesting how to improve it as an expert in page speed optimization here, without us having to resort to caching plugins and adding that layer of complexity into the mix. We can do that, and we will, for additional improvements, but this is a suggestion to fix and optimize your core theme first.

And we will renew the support as soon as you release an upgrade with this functionality in place.

Thank you so much for listening!

Hello, @crazyserb.

Ok, Thanks for your detailed reply, I’ll forward this to our development department for considering work on it with the near future upcoming updates of the Theme.

Thanks for your understanding.

I just updated to the the theme to the newest version (from version 3.3.8) and now all my posts are not showing anymore, but I get an 500 error. All pages are showing correctly. Please advise! For now I installed a backup and I am back to the theme version 3.3.8. and the posts are showing again. WP version is up-to-date. Thanks. The page ishttps://blumenhof-kuschka.de/

Hello, @mtwalther,

Before updating the Theme make sure to deactivate all the third party plugins and then update the Theme again and also the Theme required/recommended plugins as well, If you will finds the same issue then turn ON the debug mode of your site and check What error will appear on your site on Posts pages.

Is there a way to create a sticky menu for mobile at the bottom of screen?

Hello, @CaptureMotion,

Unless you install some third party plugin to handle your menu you can only choose from the two available options for mobile menu that the theme offers. You can choose a mobile menu from the theme’s options page under “Responsive Layout” section. For example the menu here http://idesignmywebsite.com/u-design-shop/ is the second option.

Purchased product and works as intended. Thanks, Long Island Web Design

Thanks for your kind words. :)

I love this theme and have been using it on my own site (launchnow.ca) for over 4 years. Now, after buying two other themes to build a client site, both of which were so complicated to work with and giving me grief, I decided to remove UDesign from my own site and use it on my client site (rentnorth.ca). Unfortunately, there is a “Disclaimer” notice showing on the top of the page. How do I remove this? I am only using the theme on one site. Since I purchased this theme a few years ago I do not have support. Thank you.

DISCLAIMER Important: This site has been setup purely for demonstration purposes and all the content are designed to showcase the uDESIGN WP theme as it could look on a live site. All images are copyrighted to their respective owners. Thank you for responding so quickly.

Is something checked off that shouldn’t be? I’ve gone through the theme options so many times and can’t find how or where to remove it.

As for licencing, I never take chances with client sites.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Must appreciated.

I found it Andon! It was in the section – Home Page Before Content.. I dont know how it got there but was activated somehow. I have now removed it. Thanks again for your excellent customer service. Out of the nearly 100 themes I have purchased in Envato, uDesign was and continues to be far superior! Happy New Year!

Sound’s Great!!!
Thanks for your love for uDesign…

Hello, I updated the theme. After the update, the shape is no longer displayed correctly. What can it do? Link: https://intersign.de/outdoor-produkte/leuchtwerbung/leuchtbuchstaben/preiskalkulator/ I would be grateful for help.

well, you can find out if it’s because of the calculator if you disable it and test it then. Just eliminate the things you think that might be causing it and test out.

Regards

Hello, we have installed the new update. But if we do the mobile site test at Google, Google says the site is not optimized for mobile devices. Using this page on a mobile device may cause problems. What can we do? Google Link: https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly Our site: https://intersign.de/

thanks for your help

Hi,

this is from your content not the theme, as you can see the theme demo is mobile friendly: https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly?id=RyQx0RuoEp_t0Lgz9vTpeA

You will need to inspect your content. Also you can increase the font size from the theme’s options if you need it bigger.

Regards

Looking hard at this theme. I noticed the social icons at the top, can you enable them to load up a new tab? In the demo, you leave the website to go to a social page, I would prefer they load a new tab so they stay on the site. Is it possible?

Thank you once again, that really helps to help me make a decision.

@warinerm you’re welcome!! :)

I have this theme installed on a few sites. With the update that has just come out, when I update the theme, it overrides all of my settings and replaces everything with the udesign logo and colours (all content is still intact). I have tried saving the settings again and emptying the cache, but it still persists. How do I update without wiping out my site design? Thx.

I don’t see the UD logo in the site (link) you provided above, I see the company log and custom colors, so this must be caching related on your end. Make sure to “hard” refresh the page in your browser.

Regards

Thanks! You were right about it being a caching thing. I couldn’t get it to change when I refreshed my browser (and didn’t want to do a hard refresh), so I viewed it in an incognito page and it shows the correct branding, so all good. I appreciate your help.

Great! Thanks for letting us know.

Cheers!

I have a pre-sales question. Where do I address that?

Hi,

I’m not sure I understand your question!? What do you mean by “where do I address that?” What is “that”?

We’ve tried to update the theme but when we install it the code is visible… Why?

Hi, I just replied to you in the support forum.

Regards

Dumb question. From comments I am having a difficult time deciding things. My WP needs updated to 5.5.1.
At the moment I am using WP 5.2 with U-Design Version 3.4.3 and Child Theme.
I built the site wit WP Bakery Page Builder which was bundled.
I am also implementing Slider Revolution.
On 3 other sites I use, when I updated WP to 5.5.1, things broke so I hesitate to update this site, (different themes on those 3 sites than U-Design)
I recently bought a theme with Elementor and I HATE it
Here is what I would like to know:
#1. Are all the original bundled plugins still bundled and supported with updates for them? EX: WP Bakery
#2 If they are, can I choose WP Bakery instead of Elementor or must I use Elementor?
#3. Should I install the U-Design Update BEFORE or AFTER updating the actual WordPress?
#4 Will my child theme still work or is there any code I should add to the functions.php?
Knowing these things before deciding would be of great assistance in my choice.
Thank you so much. I’ve used and loved this theme for years on my main site.

Hi,

1 ) Yes the originally bundled plugins are still up to date and updated regularly as updates come.

2 ) All the page builder plugins are optional so you don’t have to use any of them if you don’t want to.

3 ) I don’t think it matters with this update, your current version of the theme is relatively recent so probably nothing will break if you update the theme after you update WP.

4 ) This will all depend on what you have added to it, CSS will most likely not have any issues, PHP code added to the functions.php in the child theme could be more problematic if for example you are overwriting there a function that no longer exists in the release of the parent theme or WordPress. But if you don’t have much in your child theme then you will most likely be fine, you can always disable it if you have issues while troubleshooting.

Thank you kind sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar

You’re welcome! Thank you for choosing the “uDesign” theme!

Do you have demo for this? Than can Store your files, edit, view and share with your team or colleagues. It is practical in keeping medical histories and active files, which it can be used for updating, downloading and storage of radiology images.

Hi, all the theme demos can be found here: http://idesignmywebsite.com/u-design/u-design-theme-demos/

the functionality you’re describing is plugin territory not theme related. A theme should be chosen for the look and feel it provides for your WP site, for any other functionality you should turn to the WordPress plugin directory or if you find some other third party plugins online.

Hi, was this theme built using WPBakery Page Builder?

Not everyone likes WPBakery to be honest, I have some users that hate it, so it’s wise not to rely solely on one page builder. If you’re not happy with your purchase and purchased it within the last 30 days I’ll give you a refund, just submit a refund with ThemeForest.

Regards

Yes of course, WPBakery is not for everyone. My point however is that your sales copy is misleading (I assume unintentionally) because it explicitly states that all your Udesign designs are built using WPBakery. Moreover, your sales copy explicitly states that no coding knowledge is required to modify any Udesign design.

By your own admission, both statements are obviously not true, that’s the point.

In any event, a refund is not required. I’ve taken other steps to cope with this matter.

Sorry, can you show me where it states that all U-Design designs are built with WPBakery as I can’t find it as you’re correct this will not be a correct statement and it’s possible we made a typo. When you go to the theme’s demos page and hover over a demo it clearly states what was used to build each demo. Here, check it out, go to this page, scroll down the fold and hover over the demos to see what they are built with, this has been like that since day one: http://idesignmywebsite.com/u-design/u-design-theme-demos/

As for the no coding, I disagree as you can use the theme with WordPress without knowledge of HTML and CSS, just don’t do fancy stuff. You can design a site strictly by using “Visual” mode or Gutenberg now and maybe (optional) the theme’s shortcodes which is a WordPress theme this is not invented by a theme.

Regards

Where do you add the Google Analytics code? Used to be under theme’s Settings page with a whole section there about that called “Statistics”. It’s no longer there?

The Essential Grid settings for the grids in the Yoga demos are preventing the display of all grid items in mobile view.

For example, on the Team page there are 6 people, but only 3 are displayed in mobile view.

For each grid, under Grid Settings-Pagination, the Max Rows Mobile setting needs to be enabled.

Then the Max Visible Rows Mobile number needs to be set to equal the number of items in the grid.

Thanks for letting me know of this @johpg. Cheers!

I just tested out your solution but didn’t work for me, what worked is actually setting the “Max Visible Rows” to the max number of items.

Regards

Pre-sales questions. There are 2 versions of the YOGA demo:

https://udesigntheme.com/demos/yoga-el/ http://udesigntheme.com/demos/yoga/

If I buy theme and import the yoga demo, which version will be imported? The Elementor version or the non-Elementor version?

Does the Elementor demo version require the free or paid version of the plugin?

The Elementor demo is built with the Free version.

Thanks for the quick reply. What can be used to edit the NON-Elementor version of the yoga demo? WPBakery? or Gutenberg?

The non-elementor version was built with the theme’s core features (no page builder) as well as the Essential Grid plugin for all 2-3 grids that you see throughout the site.
