how can I change Player height in mobile?
in the mobile version, the spotify player is cut off. How to fix this?

Hi great theme, I use square images for the episodes and put 1:1 in the image ratio for displaying the images in the episode layout on the front page. Unfortunately the images seem to be zoomed in and get cut off on all sides. Any solution how to prevent the zoom? Thank you

You should try to go to the Listing layouts Appearance > Customize > Theme options > Podcast > Episode listing layouts > choose the layout and manage the Custom image ratio. Then you should regenerate your thumbnails https://mekshq.com/docs/megaphone-image-sizes-regenerate-thumbnails

We’ll need to check your test drive site and see what is going on there. I assume that there is a problem with embedding or some setting that you’ve missed.
Generally, you need to embed the iframe inside the post and make sure that you select an appropriate podcast category.

Hi there, I have a major issue with the theme and no one has got back to me on a support ticket yet. This theme looks great, but there are major issues with the player. It says it is compatible with Power Press, but despite audio files being attached to all my posts in a way that has ALWAYS worked for every other theme we have used, this theme requires a shortcode in the post for the player to see the file. Considering our podcast network has nearly 1000 episodes, that makes it basically useless to us.
Also, we found that the player was bugged on the mobile version. The show lists don’t play in mobile, IOS or Android. They look great but are useless unless your fans are on desktop.
We contacted Meks support. They looked into the issue a few weeks ago. Last we heard the programmers were “looking into it” and there would eventually be an update to fix the issues, but we were given no timeline. It’s been two weeks with our website basically being a brick and we just can’t wait anymore.
If you’re a new podcast, this theme might be great. If you are an already established cast, beware.

I appreciate your reply. Do all your other themes use the same functionality? I saw you recently released a new podcast theme. I like how it looks but if it would also require the short code inserted into every post it wouldn’t work either.

Thank you for your reply.
The reason for this issue is quite simple. PowerPress ads the audio file inside the episode through their plugin meta, and not through the content, which would be the default and recommended way to do this in WordPress. We need to find a way to pull their meta and transfer it to the post content.
Regarding our themes – You don’t need to use the shortcode. You can use Gutenberg audio or video block, and you can also use Vimeo or Youtube block(if you’re hosting your audios on these services). You can also download blocks from that particular service you’re using(if they have one) because our themes are Gutenberg friendly.
We don’t want you to feel tricked or wait until we find a solution to insert PowerPress meta inside our player, so you can always reach out to our support team, and we’ll find a solution for you if you don’t want to insert your PowerPress episodes manually.

We don’t have a premium plugin version. You will be able to use all the plugin features if you’re using our theme.
Can you please tell us a bit more about this frontend form you’re using? The editor that we can see on the screenshot looks like a Classic editor.
To eliminate possible plugin conflicts, please try to disable all your plugins except Meks Audio player and try again.

We’re not supporting icecast as one of the services, but if you can use iframe as your embedding form, I’m sure that you’ll be able to use it, live stream or standard video.
Regarding the player – The player will be restarted after each page refresh. That is how the player works currently. We’ve already forwarded this kind of feedback to our product team, and maybe we’ll create a similar feature in the future.
My suggestion would be to try our theme for free, with the test drive, and to get in touch with our support team if you want to test icecast streaming:

I wish you would include social media Parler (Twitter alternative) and Rumble (YouTube alternative) to the available external selections (with icons). This would be a terrific addition.
Also I am not seeing a QUICK method for adding podcast audio into the created post. I had to examine one of your existing demo posts in the text editing window to find the code and paste. Solution? Am I missing something? Thanks!

Regarding the QUICK method for adding podcast audio into the created post, in the Megaphone theme, you could only paste the iframe in the text block of HTML block and then the theme will recognize the audio player and open this audio in the Megaphone player. If you go to the Appearance > Customize > Theme options > Podcast > player you can see the list of the podcasts that are supported in theme.

In the Megaphone theme, we have Episodes for the podcast and Regular Blog posts. Basically, the Episodes are also regular posts but with functionalities for podcasts and with Megaphone player. You should first create Google Adsense code https://mekshq.com/faq/google-adsense-doesnt-display, then you should go to the Appearance > Customize > Theme options > Ads and paste Ads code in the field for Ad position where you wish to display your Ads.

The player does not stay when surfing the site—Is this on the roadmap? This would keep people engaged with the site listening to a podcast. ?

I suppose that you want to keep the player active while switching pages and posts on the site. The player works on totally different principles, and our themes are designed to follow WordPress codex and guidelines. Implementing such a feature would be tricky, and it wouldn’t be a typical WordPress feature, in general, but I’ll try to explain this problem in a common language.
We don’t have too many options to achieve that because you’re activating the player on one particular page. Each time the page is refreshed, you’re accessing the new page, and the player is inactive on that particular page. Creating such an app with AJAX, for example, would create some other type of problems in WordPress, possible conflicts with solid numbers or plugins available on the market, etc.

Hi I have submitted two support messages and have not received any response. I will attempt here: Featured Image for single episode posts are appearing twice on the live site but looks as it should on the wordpress dashboard/customize preview. Is there a setting that I am missing? FYI, the featured image is also duplicated on the “Latest Episode” section on the homepage.
