Can not install storm in wp 3.4.2 i get the missing style.css error. I have done what envado support recommends but still can’t install it. Any help is appreciated

Hi there, Great theme and a nice one to start the very first WP site with too. I have no knowledge on code or anything remotely technical but this seems to be simple enough. However, I have an issue that I simply cannot resolve. No Thumbnails or featured images will show up on either the site – or the dashboard. They all appear as a broken image icon. I would be guessing without seeing the error logs, but another customer had a similar problem. The environment variable $_SERVER[‘DOCUMENT_ROOT’] was not set correctly on their server, so the timthumb script was looking in the wrong place for the image. To fix this, in the file storm/includes/timthumb-config.php where I added some code to set the document root that timthumb now uses to find the file correctly, see below.
define('LOCAL_FILE_BASE_DIRECTORY', '/home/www/www.mywebsite.com/htdocs/');Can you add this code and change the path to match the document root of your website on the server disk, you should be able to find it with a phpinfo() page.

Hi and thank you for your advice. I have tried for several days to get my head around your guide to sort the timthumb issue and I really dont know what I am doing. I am a novice sadly and this is my first theme/WP site. Is there any step by step guide you can do for me at all? I have no idea where to find the info on bluehost where the site is hosted from either. Sorry to be a pain, Im sure its very simple when you know how! Regards Matt

Hi there,
in relation to Quform that is included in this theme, I was wondering if there is a simple way of showing the submit button on the side of the elements versus at the bottom of the form. By default, the submit button shows up at the bottom-left corner. If i do display none for the submit button in the forms style section, then I have to add a HTML element, but this element doesn’t inherit the Storm CSS , and therefore button looks different. What is the best of moving the submit button around?

Download and import this example of a button inline with a grouped element. You will be able to see what CSS was used to achieve this.
It would not be possible to move the button further inside the form, that I know of. Let me know if the above solution would work for you.

Sorry, I don have that line in my shortcodes.php. I did read the Shortcodes/Galleria but I have no idea what this means. I set up a shortcode for the galleria on a page but that didn’t seem to work.
Here is my objective. I’ll have 5-600 photographs on the site and need to be able to have a set of different portfolios for each topic (wedding, events, music stars etc.). I could work with “categories” but the “all” makes a confusing mass of shots. When I create a new portfolio the same categories show up in the new portfolio as in the default portfolio.

I don’t know why you wouldn’t have that code, it’s in every version. Perhaps search just the first few characters of the code I pasted until you find it.
What you could do is separate the categories on to different pages. So have a page for wedding, events, music stars etc, each page has it’s own portfolio shortcode. When adding the portfolio shortcode you can choose to display only images from a specific category.
For Galleria, if you go to this page and click “Get code”. This is the actual code used to create the galleria on that page. So you can copy this code and paste it into your own page in WordPress. Then change the URLs to the images to point to your own images.

Love the look and feel of your theme! How do I get rid of the “All” category in the portfolio?

You’d need to edit the file /includes/shortcodes.php, find this line
$output .= '<a class="basic-button" href="#" data-filter="all"><span>' . __('All', TCR_ADMIN_TEXT_DOMAIN) . '</span></a>';Add a // before the code to comment it out.
Have you read the documentation section Shortcodes -> Galleria, there is an example there.

I have around 100 images could I create a single page with fullscreen slideshow of all my images. When I have that many pictures the slideshow bar is annoying. Is it possible to disable that when there are that many pictures?
In the theme options panel Backgrounds -> Images the option “Bullet navigation” set it to off.

Hi, I had to buy this theme a few minutes ago. I will install it, but my wordpress admin page 3.4.2 wrote me:
“This package can not be installed. The theme file is missing style.css cascading style.
Topics Installation failed.”
Why??? 
The theme zip file is inside the zip that you download from ThemeForest, extract it first.

Hi there – Incredible theme, I love it. I’ve only used free themes before, but had to buy this after I saw it, and very happy I did! Just a couple of questions:
1/ In the stylesheet, I floated the nav-wrap-inner left (worked fine) but I want to offset it back by about 50px, so I added and offset:
float: left;
float-offset: 50;But this doesn’t seem to work. I’m a bit new to this but I thought that would do it. Am I missing something?
2/ Regarding video backgrounds; is there any way to use a video background across all pages which doesn’t get interrupted as you navigate to a different page? So that, say, the video is playing in the background of the home page, and then I move to the blog page and the same video is there, but actually continues playing rather than restarts?

1. I’m not familiar with the float-offset property but you usually need to specify the pixel unit in CSS e.g.
float: left; float-offset: 50px;
2. No, you would need an Ajax based site to do that and our theme doesn’t have this functionality.

Hi, I am a complete Luddite. While I love your theme, I am hesitant in buying it as I am not clear if it will do all I want it to. I am a amateur photographer with 4 very successful solo exhibitions behind me. I still use film. Lots of people ask me if I have a website or not and I think it is time for me to come out of the cave. I hope you will bear with me.
I want to be able to index my photos in 4 ways – country, theme, year and gallery exhibition. Is this possible? What would you recommend by way of portfolio vs gallery in your theme?
I will also need to get some amount of text about myself, my exhibitioning history, credo etc as well as the charity work that I do through my photographs.
I have not noticed any such text enabled page or section in your theme. Am I missing it or can you help develop it?

You can categorize the images as you add them. You can display images from specific categories on a page using the portfolio “shortcode”. I’m not sure if this is exactly what you mean but you could then create a page for each of your different image categories and display different images there.
Yes you can create pages for text and other content. We have a sample of a page with some text and other features here.

Is there a setting that will make every aspect of the image to be displayed on the screen during the fullscreen mode? Currently the image is zommed to fit the screen.
If you go to the theme options panel Background -> Images and turn on “Fit always”, the image will always fit within the window. This option is only available with the latest version 1.1.1 uploaded yesterday.

I just downloaded the theme and installed it is showing version 1.1. When will version 1.1.1 be uploaded the themeforest site?
The 1.1.1 version is the version I get when downloading from ThemeForest. Are you getting the copies up somewhere before installing?

hi, this theme seems to work fine but i i can not upload any images on my admin panel?? as i said everything else works fine but when i click the upload button nothin seems to appear??
The uploaders require Flash. Do you have it installed? Can you try another browser? Can you also try disabling any other plugins you have installed.

The update is now live and portrait sized images are now locked to 100% height and centered in the browser. You can download the updated version from your Downloads tab on ThemeForest.

It is better for vertical images which are no longer cropped, but the problem remains the same for traditional format images that are cropped on high, if the screen is larger than original image.
we did probably not understand in my first post. Vertical images were cropped, but also horizontal images, if the screen is larger than the ratio of the original image!
this option: “Prevent landscape images from being cropped by locking them at 100% width” In this case, the landscape images are cropped in height…

Yes, it’s the same as a standard WordPress theme in that you can create posts, pages and use plugins so you can do anything a standard WordPress theme can do.

I solved the problem yourself of timthumb.php. The version included in your theme has security problems then my provider (http://www.aruba.it) blocked him. The problem was solved by downloading the latest version from here http://code.google.com/p/timthumb/. The problem of the Welcome box and caption background images are still there. thanks

I loaded your theme today and started the setup. I have read the documentation .. but was not able to set the theme as in your demo …. I do not know how to write and to appear Welcome box and background images captions. I have defined these caption in theme options but they are not seen .. .. In your demo you see the menu, the welcome box and captions. I do not see well in the themes options, the thumbs of background images: I only see a cross in the top left corner even though when the mouse rests on these thumbs I see the icons for setting the caption, but maybe something is not adjust.

I have never used a poll plugin so I don’t have one to recommend. Perhaps someone else can make a suggestion. If it’s a problem with the theme with a specific plugin or you get an error message, send me a link to the page and I can help you get it working.

In most plugins you need to put shortcode like [poll id=xx] to the post or page. In this case it is not recognized as a shortcode and is displayed as it is…
Shortcodes are definitely processed with post and page content, so I don’t think this is a theme problem. Can you give me the name of the plugin and I will test it out.

To keep your website secure, it is best if you could create a temporary user account just for us with the “Administrator” role, which you can then delete when we have resolved your problem.
