Hey,
I purchased this theme yesterday and today I went to upload it on Wordpress and I’m getting this error “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”
What do I do to fix this?

you have to unpack the ZIP file you’ve downloaded and use only bigbangwp.zip.

First off great theme. Went back and forth between this one and ZigZag, really both awesome layouts and bought from you especially for the portfolio layout… which leads to my question.
1. I can’t seem to get the portfolio to display like your demo. Individual portfolio items appear correctly, but my portfolio page (using correct shortcode and category ID) looks just like a blog. Is there something I need to adjust with the WP permalink structure to make this work?
Anytime I tweak the existing postname .html structure, my posts disappear from the blog page.
2. Also, is there something I need to do to enable the PrettyPhoto lightbox? Or will the theme read the included JS files and be good to go… I just need to add photos? (Right now portfolio items are all vimeo embeds) Didn’t see anything in your help file, unless I overlooked it.

it looks like a problem with permalinks/slugs. Try to choose default permalink setting (the ugly one) and try again. If it’s working, try to change page/category slugs, or try another permalink structure.
2) It depends. In posts it should work out of box. In pages, you’ll have to click on image, go to Advanced Settings and insert prettyPhoto[] for Link Rel
Got the permalink figured out. Seems I can’t have the portfolio item category and the page both named PORTFOLIO . I switched to PORTFOLIOS to test and it works fine.
As for the light box question, would the Link Rel allow me to input a different lightbox image (or video) when the link is clicked?
I would like to add a bio video to play in the lightbox for each team member when you click on their headshot. But I’m not sure your team member shortcode will allow me to do that. Should I just build custom columns to workaround?
Also, I notice that the team member shortcode does not open social media links in target=”_blank”. Anyway to change that without rebuilding the columns from scratch?

About lightbox: In fact it’s prettyPhoto and yes, you can change URL . Check prettyPhoto documentation page to see all options (you can add video, iframe…)

New question/issue… I’ve been building up portfolio items all morning, each with a Vimeo link in the custom brankic panel. Works great, then 10-15 min later, the link is dead. I go back to edit the post and the URL and any other changes are missing from your custom panel.

Also, is there anyway to disable the lightbox effect while using the grid shortcode layout? I really like the look of that better than just putting images in columns, but again, I want to use a custom link and have the client logos link to a hidden page about them.

I see that you’re out of the office, and wish you a speedy recovery. Little question for when you get back or find a moment: Is there a way to make the whole portfolio item hover/click area activate the lightbox? Since I’m just using images (minimal details, enough to fit in the hover) I’d like the whole shape (hexagon in this case) to be clickable to pull up the lightbox for that item. Is this at all possible?

We’ll try to implement this into next update, but, to be honest, it’s very hard, and I’m not sure we’ll be able to do that

I don’t think custom slideshow will be in the conflict with our theme, but I can’t be 100% sure

yes, you have to use widgets, but first you have to install them. All widgets we’re using in our theme are in folder plugins in the ZIP file you’ve downloaded…
I made a custom color for the theme, and installed it into the folder with the other color .css files – how can i tell the theme to use the new one?

you can’t to that easily. You should edit some of existing css files and choose that color.

surgery went well. I’m still in the hospital, but here is the answer. You have to edit slider.inc.php and set “false” for parameter “slideshow”.
These parameters are near the end of the file. There are 3 sets of these parameters (depending if you’re customizing slider in page, blog, or portfolio item).

I just bought the theme and I uploaded the zip file to the themes directory and extracted it.
When I select this theme through the wp-admin panel, I get an error message saying -
Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_theme_support() in /home2/grassrou/public_html/wp-content/themes/bigbangwp/includes/bra_theme_functions.php on line 463
If I go ahead and activate the theme, my website blanks out and I cannot access my WP account. Can you tell me how do I fix this?

Are you using latest version of WordPress?
Not sure why this happens. Nobody else reported this issue.
Also I would have set up my home page to have “the latest work”” section as well as “the latest blogs” but the blog squares are not the same size as the latest work squares if that makes sense???
If you’re using same number of columns, and same sized featured images, it should be the same.
If images aren’t the same, you can define height of items in shortcode (parameter “height”)

1) As I know there is no limit in number of filters (subcategories). Sorry, but no sidebars on the page with portfolio shortcode.
2) Also, there is no limit (but be aware, there is no pagination). Just insert -1 for “no” parameter

I have four questions: 1. For the shortcodes_icon_boxes I want to have only three boxes. How do i do that. I want the 3 boxes to be evenly distributed – like the 3 column grid 1a. Any tips for adding new icons? Eg size, color, where to find? 2. When using portfolio shortcode how do I make sure when someone clicks on the box they are taken to a new URL . NOT just when they click the search/paper clip button in the lower left corner? 3. My site (www.gambii.com) the navigation in the menu bar is still grey even though I changed the color to blue 4. What is the best way to change the social button icons color. For example instead of going clear to blue for facebook button I change it red to blue for example (not that I would do that but for example)

2) Title of the item is also link. We can’t make whole box clickable. We think title and paper clip icon are enough.
3) Navigation bar should be grey in all color schemes. Only current active item is highlighted (but only if you’re using WP Menu)
4) With Extra CSS you can define initial and hover color of each item

I would like to imitate this concrete portpolio post: http://demo.brankic.net/bigbangwp/portfolio/carum-rarum/. It has 3 images in the slider and 2 more inserted into the text area of the post. Then, in the lightbox view, all 5 are shown. Did you make something special so that the lightbox show all 5 images and not just the slider images?
My other question is related to the image count in the lightbox. ¿Does it include the featured image? I understand that the featured image is for the thumb and doesn’t show up in the slider.

Images on the left has Link Rel – prettyPhoto[] in Advanced Link Settings.
You have to insert thumb image in the content and link this image to original image (full size). After that click onto image and go to Advanced settings. There you’ll find Link Rel field…
Bianka you’re right. Only Extra images are shown in the slider.

1. Is it possible on the Instagram Photostream to remove the ‘link’ icon on hover. I don’t mind the enlarge ‘magnifying glass’ icon, but I have no need for the link icon.
2. On the home page – is it possible to remove the colour hover effect from the buttons?

Sorry, I was far too vague on my second question – the icon boxes on the home page, they are perfect as they are but I’d like to remove the hover colour effect from them, I have been able to remove the link but can’t stop the hover. if you’re using Latest post for front page, or if you’ve brought category to WP Menu, than you’ll have to edit index.php. page-blog-4.php is used if you’re using page.
