I have created a one-page Roogan Theme and there seems to be no way to ANCHOR the menu to the sections. I looked at the beginner guide provided above, but that is not effective here. Does this theme not have Anchor Link options in it?

I am waiting for longer than one week to get a solution from the support team on the following topics:
- Not possible to use the new post editor: it creates the following error message: “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”
- Timeline widget for the episodes not available in the classic post editor
- Mailing List: error when adding the code, not possible to save the code on a widget
- And when possible to save the widget, how to replace the existing newsletter part of the home page using the existing roogan style?

Sorry, we were experiencing some technical difficulties.
- Not possible to use the new post editor: it creates the following error message: “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”
We’re not sure what is causing this issue on your website, but it seems that it is not theme related. We’ve tried to change the theme to default WordPress theme – Twenty-twenty-one, and the issue persists even with the default theme. Our suggestion would be to reach out to your hosting agency and ask them if there are some necessary permissions that needs to be allowed on the server end, because we’ve tried this with all plugins disabled, and with the default WordPress theme.
- Timeline widget for the episodes not available in the classic post editor
Timeline widget is usually inserted through Gutenberg block. If you want, you can copy the Gutenberg block HTML and place it inside the Classic editor HTML mode. You can check out this article here:

This might be related to the first problem. Saving the code inside a HTML widget is something that you can do on all themes, it is not related to the theme in any way.

Everything should work with the default Roogan style. Can you please send us an example URL with the widget? I’m sorry, but we don’t see the newsletter widget in your Appearance > Widgets panel.

First of all, thank you for showing interest in our theme, and thanks for contacting us, it’s really appreciated. The advantage of using our themes is that you don’t need any page builder for creating pages and posts. But, you can use any page builder you want. We would recommend Elementor. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is that our front page is manageable through the Theme Options, so you’ll need to use a special procedure if you want to use Elementor on the front page.
You can use Elementor page builder on the front page in combination with this plugin here(you can do that with pretty much every page builder on the market, each one of them has a plugin addon with the same purpose): https://wordpress.org/plugins/anywhere-elementor/
What that means is that you can install these plugins, create a new page with Elementor, add the page ID inside the anywhere Elementor shortcode([INSERT_ELEMENTOR id=xxx]), and paste that shortcode inside the front page Custom Content area.

When using the classic editor, the font size in the editor is tiny.I notice there’s no padding either, all the text is jammed up against the stop and sides. I’ve tried ever CSS fix I know, and I cannot find what is causing the editor font to be so small.
Please advise.

Hi In the theme documentation, the link to the short codes does not work. Is there someplace else where I can get a list of available short codes?
Also, just in case it’s not there…I’m trying to replicate a 2nd subscription area on the home page. Is that something I can do with a short code, or do I have to custom code it?

However, on this screenshot https://www.screencast.com/t/wUyaMcyO, you can see the list of the shortcodes that come with the Roogan theme. Regarding the Subscription section, this section was created only for the Home page and we have only one Subscription section. We don’t have a shortcode to replicate this section in some other place on the Home page. You can only move this section up or down. Hope this will be helpful. You can try to use and install the Podcast Importer SecondLine plugin. Navigate to Plugins > Add New > Search for Podcast Importer SecondLine and after installation, you probably will be able to import your podcast feed.

This problem is related to lazy load functionality most probably. I suppose that you’re using Jetpack, SG Optimizer, Smush or some similar plugin with Lazy Loading feature.
Disable Lazy load feature inside the plugin you’re using and use a3 Lazy Load plugin instead, if you need that kind of feature.
We test that plugin and it works well with our theme.

The 1.1.2 release breaks some admin area CSS. There are theme CSS properties that are over-scoped and affecting lots of small things (like font family and sizes, line spacing all over the post editor (outside the Gutenberg editor) and bigger things like breaking the date pop-up so you can no longer see the last week of the month.

Does this theme have conflicts with other caching plugins? When I change the “intro text” on the Welcome page, it still defaults to the “Roogan is a full-featured Wordpress theme…” default intro text. I have cleared all site cache and will not update. Also throwing a ‘undefined’ in the meks player when using simple podcasting plugin. It was working before, but all of sudden decides not to work.

This is not a problem with caching. Please navigate to your Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Translation, and make sure that it is turned on, even if you’re not using the translation, and everything should be fine.

It is possible, but you’ll need to add the episode link regularly inside the editor, and then edit your page with Elementor. The issue here is that Elementor sections have their own markup, and this markup is a problem for player, because it can’t retrieve the episode link properly.

Hi, i really liked this theme, is that possible to show category wise episodes on a static page, i want a page where i can show category name as title then episodes from this category beneath the title in a slide effect like you have latest or featured episodes on your home page. also is it possible to add a button into the episode if we use embeded audio like from mixcloud it show a player on the bottom but what if we want to show a button too in the post.

Regarding the episodes page – I’m afraid that this is possible only with the category archive page. The animation can be added with the custom code, we don’t have that kind of feature by default.
