Can’t edit footer content
Hi fellas… I’m trying to help out a friend with his nice site running a urchased version of your nice theme + a child theme.
It has your footer activeted and displays this as intended.
There seems to be a bug when I try to edit the footer.
Both backend and front end editing whe 4 widget areas in the footer, the containers seem to be empty.
When I try to edit front end, for a split second boxes with the content and editor seem to appear, but then the quickly disappear leaving me unable to edit the content.
I’ve tried to CSS my way out of it front end, but I can’t get the editors to appear.
I’ve updated wp to latest version 6.02.

The footer widget areas are edited from Appearance > Widgets in the backend. If alternatively your setup has a global section assigned to the footer, that would be edited in the Global Sections post type: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/page-builder-global-sections/

When editing in Appearance > Widgets in the backend, I can use the visual editor to see the 4 footer areas I have set up .. but when clicking one of the areas, it veeery shortly seems to load the current content of the areas, but then these elements disapear, and I can not edit them.
In the backend under in the menu “Salient” I have a sub menu called “Global Sections”.
On the other hand I do not have a level 1 “Global Sections” menu as described in your nice documentation.
I’m running latest WP and 13.06 of Salient.
I could share a link to the site, but it’s closed for maintinance.
I could do a super short screencast of my backend and share a public google photos link to the video, if that is useful?
Okay! I now found the source of the problem: it was my browser!
For your future reference, if anyone else has this issue, I have it in Opera and Edge .. but I can edit the footer elements in Chrome.

How can I link an external link for a portfolio project out, as although I have put a link in the external project URL section under project configuration it doesn’t link externally but rather goes through the same page, which I don’t want, how do I fix this so it goes through a new link?

Setting a URL in the “External Project URL” field should be all that’s needed to have the project open to it rather than the default single template. Can you please open a ticket on the support forum in regards with your site URL so that we can take a closer look?

Hi, how can I add custom fonts? I have added the Custom Fonts plugin, but I need to be able to select the custom fonts from the dropdown menus on Typography tab on Salients’s Theme. Or do I need to override with css?
Hey kayota, if you use the plugin Use Any Font, the custom fonts will automatically get populated as available options in the Salient options > Typography section.

Since you’re not using the footer widget area, you should be able to remove that gap by disabling the “Main Footer Area” in the Salient options > Footer tab

I just updated to 15.0.4 from 14.X.X (I believe 14.0.2). I noticed an issue with some rows containing an image gallery: the row bg color only covers the top half of the row background. I found that setting the column bg color to the same color as the row bg fixed the issue. Just something you might want to be aware of.
Update: I just noticed quite a few bugs with 15.0.4. Is there any way to download 14.0.2? The update is causing so many issues that I need to take my site down, and it’s important that I get it working again.
Update 2: I got it working, for the most part. Sorry for the spam. It seems that everything that had custom CSS is not working correctly, but the rest of the issues were fixed by clearing the cache. Is there something I need to do to get the custom CSS working again?
I do have one question though – is it possible for letters to be outlined as a whole in the “scrolling text” elements? The letters of mine aren’t outlined as a whole, but each individual piece of the letters are outlined. For example, the letter “Y” has the upper left branch outlined, the upper right outlined, and the base outlined as three overlapping parts. Update 3: dug into the css and changed some classes and got it working

I’m glad that you were able to sort out the initial caching/custom CSS issues you faced.
In regards to the text outline – variable fonts create those kinds of overlaps when creating the outline effect. See: https://github.com/googlefonts/josefinsans/issues/16 Unfortunately there are no good workarounds at this time for that.

When I enter the web, everything loads perfectly, but when I reload it there are some elements that do not appear.

I haven’t been able to see any of your elements fails to load after attempting many refreshes on Safari from my end – here’s a video recording.

Hi Salient Team – I have a problem with WPML and your new mega menu functions. I created a new second language menu and put all the same settings in it as the original first language menu. So it should look like the same.
The Problem is that the Background Images in the dropdown menu doesn’t show up at all in the second language menu. Also the color hover-effect. There are only the menu text links and descriptions.
Did that Problem appear before and do you have a solution for that?

Since that’s not a known issue, can you confirm that you’re using a a version of the Salient Core plugin above v1.9? If so, please open a ticket on the support forum so that we can take a look at your setup.

Hi, this problem should be an old one. Other people had it too. At wpml you can see a discussion about that. It looks like wpml gave the salient team this information. in 2021. I use the latest version of salient.

How to turn off all product photo effects like zoom on hover, click on the product photo zoom and then hide the zoom icon.
We want the product photo to be permanent without any effects.

I have video’s in MP4-format running in the headers of the pages at https://arsenaalbackoffice.nl/. For some odd reason the video’s are not shown in Safari when I click the menu item with the mouse and leave the mouse at the same position on the menu item. So when you just click and don’t move the mouse.
How can I solve this issue?

After updating to version 15.0.4, I’m having two issues with Bakery’s Page Builder.
1) The builder element settings toggle view (modal vs sidebar) is locked in sidebar and does not switch to modal.
2) While in sidebar view editing column settings, the additional settings ••• does not work and I’m unable to access animations.
Clearing browser and server cache does resolve the issues
I’m using Chrome browser on Windows 10 OS, both updated to current versions.
Could you help?

Are you using a masonry style that would alter the flow of the posts slightly to ensure proper fitting? If not, I would suggest starting by disabling your third-party plugins to see if any are altering the query. If that doesn’t sort it, kindly open a ticket on the support forum in regards so that we can take a look

Hey! I’m trying to make my simple main nav be 3 CTA buttons. For some reason one is smaller than the other 2, and I can’t seem to set any colors etc for active states. So when you are on that page, there’s no indicator in the button.
Any idea how I could adjust some settings for this? Text colors, active states etc. Buttons size/padding.

Thanks so much. Since there’s custom coding on there, the spacing doesn’t line up really, 8 in the settings is about 30px ha. But it works! Thanks again.
After the last update I have to say that you have outdone yourself. Very good. To be a perfect theme all you need is the implementation of popups. It would be useful to have the ability to create popups directly from the composer. We look forward to this feature in the future!

I have a question. I’m building something with Salient, which you can see here: https://hypercube.kleidi.nl/On my screen it shows great. The squares (cubes) should be the same height etc.
But on bigger screens I’m getting a different lay-out, see some examples:

You’ll need to switch your text in each square to the “Responsive Text” element so that you can use viewport based values for the font size to keep them occupying the same space within your boxes on every screen size. e.g. 3vw
If you need the boxes to remain perfect squares regardless of the screen size, you’ll have to change your approach for sizing them. It looks like you’ve placed dividers inside each box set to 15% of the viewport height. However, if someone has a wider screen, the squares will turn into rectangles.

I’m using the blog grid element and need to be able to exclude certain posts from the grid, because they are manually included on the page. The offset option is not working for my use case and it is also not possible to use different categories.
Is this something you include in a future release? Or could you help me with the implementation?

You could make use of the “nectar_post_grid_query” filter from a child theme functions.php file to override the default query on your desired page and add the needed excludes. Something like the following would need to be added to the existing query:

If you use the “Color box basic” or “Image above text” fancy box styles, there will be a color picker field labeled “Content Color” within the element settings. If you’re instead using another fancy box style, it would require a CSS rule. Could you share the URL where you’r trying to alter the color and specify whether you want to change all fancy box elements to a custom color or only a specific one.
