Hi, just looking at this theme potentially for a client. How flexible are the circles with icons for different categories on the bookstore demo? Could we completely change the icons and text. For example if we wanted to use them for art genres instead of books types

I have the theme of Kalium hotel installed on the domain of https://letscomply.org/. For 1 year the website worked fine no issue, even worked with support theme for customization. Kalium doesn’t have the problems that you are describing and it should work fine. You just need to make sure that you have checked three things.
- Make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme (read changelog).
- Make sure you have updated WordPress and premium plugins that Kalium offers
- If the problem still exists, you can disable all your third-party plugins (plugins that don’t come with our theme) one by one, and check if this problem is solved (see this: Troubleshooting WordPress in 60 Seconds).
If you still have problems, then you need to create a ticket on our dedicated support center and our team will assist you.
Please note that the comments section of the themes are used only for pre-sale questions.

Hey Ylli, first of – thanks a lot for fixing that muted video issue earlier this week!
Unfortunately, as of today another quite serious problem occured: None of my websites is reachable at all anymore when using the Kalium theme and I get the white screen of death saying “There has been a critical error on this website.”, which is a big deal.
I called my hoster (HostEurope) and they told me they deactivated PHP 7.x two days ago and only PHP 8.0/8.1 is available from now on.
My understanding is that Kalium should be compatible with these PHP versions according to the documentation, yet it is not. When I switch to another theme like Twenty-Twenty-Two it works flawless, so the problem unfortunately is Kalium theme related and the error logs show a lot of “PHP Deprecated” errors.
I know you guys just refunded my support, but let me know if you can help here or if I need to buy support again.
Do I need to change any settings within Kalium in order to make it work in PHP 8.0 / 8.1?

Kalium 3.7 fully supports PHP 8.1 and 8.2. We can’t guarantee that the third-party plugins that you use also support PHP 8.x.

Hi Ylli, Thanks for your response. I’m a bit confused by it, though. I am no longer using lucianaerisphotography.co.uk and have deregistered the license on it. My new domain is photography.crpo.uk which I would like to license the theme with. Thanks

I can see that you are using Kalium theme in that domain. You must not use Kalium theme on that domain so I can reset your license, or if you plan to use Kalium on two sites you must register two licenses (so two purchases).

My Portfolio has 51 items in the backend of WordPress, but the frontend will not show more that last 25 items published. I have created them all in the same fashion and they all have feature images and categories assigned. I tested by adding a new item and indeed the 26th item that was visible getting kicked out of the list. When I deleted my test item the item now being back in the 25th slot shows up again. Also my portfolio categories only show the items in this top 25 list, so the category I worked on last has everything showing and other categories have fewer than expected. The portfolio items themselves are simple with just one or sometimes two optimized images and a paragraph of text, so they are light pages with regards to performance.
When I go to Appearance -> Customize I see still only the latest 25 items, however if I navigate to the categories each category shows all of the items in that category, so items that don’t show up in the “All” will show in the category, but again only in the customize area on the backend.
Here are the numbers:
Portfolio Backend Numbers for items Total: 51 Category Commercial: 14 Category Industrial: 14 Category Master Planning: 12 Category Residential: 15
Note: some items exist in two categories
Portfolio Frontend Numbers for items Category All: 25 Category Commercial: 14 (this was the latest category I worked on) Category Industrial: 1 Category Master Planning: 10 Category Residential: 3
Portfolio Appearance -> Customize (Backend Preview) Numbers for items Category All: 25 (still not showing all 51) Category Commercial: 14 Category Industrial: 14 Category Master Planning: 12 Category Residential: 15
Is there a setting where the portfolio limit is set? I can’t imagine there would be. I couldn’t find anything in the documentation.

It depends if this is happening on your homepage or on your site.com/portfolio page.
If it is happening on the Homepage, then you can easily increase the number of projects to show (see video 1). If it is happening in the original /portfolio page then you have it’s an option too (see video 2).

I was using the “coming soon” mode and it was ok. But now I want to disable it so that the home page can be displayed. I checked the disable button and save all changes, but the website keeps showing me the coming soon screen. I try from different computers and phones. I erased the cache but I can’t see the home page. Please help!

Hi Ylli, very happy with the theme for many years, yet I started to experience a crazy bug since I updated to Kalium 3.6 (support ran out but this seems to be an issue/bug within Kalium itself hence posting it here):
In Kalium 3.6 all HTML5 videos now play muted and for every single video I have to manually unmute them to hear sound when I play them (either autoplay or after clicking the play button). I never had this problem before over the years using Kalium and I assume it has to do with the updated video.js library in Kalium 3.6 that broke something.
I would highly appreciate if someone could please help what needs to be done in order to fix this bug and simply play HTML5 with sound on and not muted.
Edit: By HTML5 videos I mean self hosted mp4s (not YouTube).
And I just checked the source code of embedded videos directly in the browser (latest Firefox) and for whatever reason the attribute muted=”true” has been added to the javascript code (I just removed my domain specific data here with “test”):

Hey there, in germany there alot of lawyers who penetrete hundreds of thousands website owners with penalties, because its illegal now to use google fonts online (not hosting locally).. we also received a penalty today… so i installed OMGF and other plugins who are used for placing the fonts locally, but no one works with your theme.
How can i make sure the google fonts i used at my project can be saved locally? Which steps i have to make?

You have the option to save Google Fonts on your server so they will not be called by Google servers.
If Google Fonts are called again then it means that a plugin that you use is calling those Google Fonts and not the Kalium theme.
