Hi, just wondering how I get the folder type document view in pressville theme
Hi,
you can change the document archive page layout under Appearance / Customize / Documents (first make sure you’ve assigned some of your document posts to categories).

My site www.ocmaohio.org is using the Pressville theme. Suddenly the Pressville Posts widgets on the front page started displaying vertically rather than in 3 columns. I’m having difficulty identifying what the problem is with theme. It seems to happen regardless of content type or which specific posts or content type appears. Strangely, when I initially noticed this problem the first three widgets were displaying this problem (Member Updates, Ohio News, Upcoming Events) but not the lowest three widgets in the block builder.
Any help you can provide on identifying the problem?
The problem appears to be with the Pressville Sidebar used on the front page. I was able to re-create my front page using the LSVR Posts block without a problem. The new front page is now at the www.ocmaohio.org home page url and the old front page, which still displays the layout problems here: https://www.ocmaohio.org/front-page/.
Some 3rd party plugin is messing the layout by adding its own CSS classes to the widget columns – “extendedwopts”
I am not sure how to track down a CSS conflict, are you able to point me in the right direction? I don’t know what extendedwopts is suppose to mean. Also, the front page main content slider is not working. Unclear if this is related or not.
I also don’t know where “extendedwopts” comes from, but I did some googling and found a reference in “Easy Widget Columns” plugin support forum, so if you are using it, try to deactivate it.
Hi, The home banner won’t turn into a slide show but the other pages are. Have you any idea how to have the home page as a slideshow, like the other pages?
Hi,
please share your URL.

There is just a coming soon page
Sorry Guy’s, That’s it live now. Thanks
Make sure your front page does not have a featured image as that would override your images set under Customize / Header.
Hello, I LOVE the Pressville site!! I have been having some issues following the provided document to get my directory to look like the one on the sample page. Yours has the categories listed across the top under the title allowing people to choose “ALL” or one of the categories listed with bullets in between. I REALLY like this!!! Mine does not have this and I can’t figure out how to add it so it looks like yours. Am I missing something in the customization area or the settings for that widget? Also, yours has the text information in a white box under the image and I have only been able to get a style that has the text over the image. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Hi,
categories should be displayed automatically if your directory posts are assigned to categories. You can make sure it is not turned off under Appearance / Customize / Directory – Display Archive Categories option.
As for the white box, I assume you mean just a different visual style for the directory, you can change that again under Appearance / Customize / Directory with Archive Layout option.

I do have categories assigned and they do show up in the left corner of the images when I turn that feature on but there is no archive across the top. I have that option checked “Display Archive Categories” and it is still not there. On your sample page they show up right under the Title “Directory”. On my widget it has a spot for a subtitle not an archive category list.
As for the different style for the directory… when I go to customize there is a drop down with two options (default and grid) and they both look the same. There is no other option that looks like yours.
Please share your URL when I can see your directory page.
Problem is that this is not a default archive page, this is a custom page you’ve created and added a Directory block to it. This is your default archive page: https://townofcanton.wpengine.com/?post_type=lsvr_listing
Ok. I got the link for the directory you sent me, I didn’t realize I was doing it wrong. How do I know what these links are for my other pages like this? I’m assuming there is also one for documents, people, notices, etc. How do I know how to find them? I see the permalinks but I don’t get it. Sorry, I’m just a regular person trying to build this website. lol You have been SOOO helpful!
I have purchased and installed the theme in 2019. Now I have problems when updating to PHP 8.1. How can I update the theme?
Hi,
please read this: http://docs.lsvr.sk/pressville.wp/#how-to-update-themeHowever, if you are using the 1.x version of the theme, the latest version is not compatible with it. You will have to recreate many parts of your content again.

Hi! I’m wondering how I can achieve the look you have on the people page, where the person’s role is underneath in blue text. Also, I’d like to have the social links, too, but I can’t seem to figure this out.
Thanks!
Hi,
when you are editing the person post, just scroll down to post settings and you will see fields for the role and social links there.

I bought Pressville exclusively for the Notices Archive page. That’s all I need for my website. I am very disappointed to see that it’s not included in the imported demo, and now I can’t get my notices to look like the ones in the demo preview, no matter what I do. I have read the documentation, and tried basically everything. Could you tell me is there a way to get exact copy of the notices demo page, like it is shown in the demo?
Do you have a recommendation on how to have posts be offset in the LSVR Posts Widget? For example, in LSVR Posts Widget #1 posts 1-6 from category A and LSVR Posts in Widget #2 to list posts 7-12 from category A.
It looks like there are magazine style plugins to handle this this in Wordpress, but they all use their own theme. I would like to stay consistent with the Pressville theme and have this functionality.
Hi,
not really sure I understand what do you want to achieve. Do you want two separate LSVR Posts widgets or just one?
Lubos
Yes, multiple LSVR Post widgets that both list posts from the same category. Widget #1 might list the most recent posts 1-6, and widget #2 might list the most recent posts in the same category but be posts 7-12.
I don’t think that would be possible without some advanced code customization.
Hello How can we remove the date and the categories on the articles on the home pages?

Hello I would like to change the language which is in English when I press the search icon or there is “everything” “posts” “pages” to put in French or can I change that?
Hi,
please check out this tutorial on how to translate the theme: http://docs.lsvr.sk/pressville.wp/#translation
Lubos
Hello great it worked Thanks a lot !
Hello, I installed the theme without any problem and customized the header with background image and everything worked as expected but after activating and configuring WPML with French as original language to render multilingual site , the background image appeared only on French original home page and disappears on corresponding home translations pages. However for other pages everything is good the problem just with english and arabe home page?
Hi,
try to use WPML String Translation, search for “header_background_image” and make sure it has the same value for all languages.

Hi
I got an email from my web hosting provider reminding me to upgrade to PHP 8.0 by the 1st of October 2022.
However when I try to upgrade the website from PHP 7.4 to 8.0 using the hosting config tool, the website changes from full width to become boxed. The menu items don’t work and the CSS is jumbled up on mobile devices view.
I am using Pressville version 2.6.6. I’m not sure if it is the latest version but there is no update option available under my downloads link in my Envato Market account. I have already updated all the plugins including the LSVR ones.
Can you please help and assist me on why my website is not working properly on PHP 8.0
Regards, Brian
Hi,
I’ve already replied to message, please check your email. Just for the record, the theme works perfectly fine on PHP8 on my end. So it must be some issue on your server, maybe some caching?

Hello,
I accidently bought your theme twice, can I get the refund for the second purchase please? I didn’t download it, i don’t need it twice.

Hi,
I am sorry but you have to use English if you need my help.

All of my Document category pages (except 2, Town Council and Short Term Rental Applications) go to a 404 page. I think I have my categories and permalinks correct, but I’m still doing something wrong. Any ideas?
Hi,
go to Settings / Permalinks and resave your settings.
Lubos
Unfortunately, that did not do the trick. I still see most of my document category pages going to a 404 page, even after resaving my settings multiple times. Is there anything else I can try? Thank you!
Try to create a new category and assign a document to it to see what will happen.
Thank you (Sorry for the gap in time) .. unfortunately, that did not work. I created a new category, then a new document, associated the two, and still a 404. I can’t tell what it is about the 2 documents/categories that actually work vs all the other ones that do not. Any thoughts?
Can you please share your URL where I can see it?
Certainly
https://townofmichianashores.org/permits-meeting-minutes-documents-forms/"BZA" and "Town Council" document links work, the others you must open the accordion in order to see and click on the attachments.
It looks like there is some mismatch in how you’ve named your documents archive and document categories archive slugs. Because all those folder links should lead to a document archive pages, but when I click on BZA it leads to an actual document post. Go to Settings / Permalinks and make sure LSVR Document archive and LSVR document category archive slugs are different. Try to rename them to default ones: “documents” and “document-category” just to test it out.
Thank you! While renaming the document archive to “document’ actually broke the landing page (which was not broken before) I renamed that back to it’s previous name, and then renamed the LSVR document category slug to document-category, and that appears to have done the trick. Thanks again for all the follow-up.
BTW you can rename those slugs to something different than default, but each slug has to be unique and different from slugs you are already using for your pages or posts. For example If your document archive category slug is the same as slug of one of your pages, then this will cause issues of course.
Can this theme work with a 3rd party Events plugin – ie: The Events Calendar plugin?
Hi,
it should work, however you can’t use existing event pages/widgets/block with the plugin.

On the front page, is it possible to display a block of posts using the Default Archive, Left Thumb layout? Like this: https://preview.themeforest.net/item/pressville-municipal-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/19949423?_ga=2.266308172.2142493430.1653488964-2127282516.1650565985
Hi,
you can use the default archive as your homepage, but you can’t display it alongside other blocks, that would require some advanced code customization.
Lubos
Is it possible to use more than one Pressville Posts block on the front page? We’d like to use this theme for a University news site, and having several departments that would like to post faculty news, campus news, etc. I just want to make sure we’re not stuck on one category of posts on the front page.
Hi,
yes, you can use multiple post blocks, each set to a different category.

Can I not use the latest PHP with your theme? The Admin is a white error screen unless I use php 5.6 … ? Anything Higher and I get the White Screen… Thanks Tom
Hi,
theme was tested up to PHP 8.0.3. Try to enable the WP Debug mode which will display the actual error instead of just white screen: https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/
