Yes, The old version of the theme 3.2.0 is the very old version it’s no longer compatible with PHP version 8.0

Please first activate the parent theme and then try to deactivate the license and then activate it again from the theme settings I hope by doing this the update button will start appearing on the site and you can update the theme from the Dashboard >> Appearance >> Themes.

Actually, No it will not. Once you update the parent theme to the latest version you have to create a new child theme from the UDESIGN >> Setup Wizard. After that you have to set all the customization in this newly created child theme also, it’s quite possible that the customization also not works with the latest version because in the latest version, lots of new features were added and removed old functionality so if the customization causes any issue on the site you have to consult with your developer on this.

OK, i’ve activated the Parent theme, but cant find where i can activate/deactivate the license.. (i also use a subdomain for tests, which run udesign, maybe thats the problem)

When i’ve started to use UDesign, i’ve changed a lot of php code on different pages.

But now, i think the changes are mostly on functions.php (i dont know why, but some are on the functions.php of the child theme, and others on the function.php of the parents theme : remove “url” from the comments form, hide admin bar,...), but some are on other php pages : pageBlog.php (exclude some categories from the “portfolio”,..), header.php (for some plugins),...

Will i be able to edit the same php pages or it will be totally different ?

BTW, which PHP Version should i have ? My host says that my actual 7.4 version is obsolete, but i cant find if udesign is compatible with 8.0, 8.1 or 8.2

The pages are not different you will not be able to edit the same pages.

You can use PHP version 8.0 I hope it works fine.

Sorry to say that you are having trouble using our theme. I just confirmed on our test site that there are no issues as everything works great. Regarding the error you mentioned, it usually appears due to the PHP version, so first make sure you are using the standard PHP version of “7.4”

Second, when you update the theme feature plugin named “UDESIGN CORE” to the latest version, but the theme was not updated to the latest version, so the two conflict and cause problems on the site.

If the theme and plugins are updated and the PHP version is also set to the standard version and your issue is still not resolved, please contact us via our support system by create a ticket so that a member of our customer support team will verify/debug your issue and help you out.

Please use the Loco translate plugin on your site. After installing the plugin please Navigate to Loco >> Themes >> Udesign >> Edit the translation which you are using for the site >> Click the Sync button >> Find the words and add the translation for them and save it.

I have already figured out why my eshop and translations for woocommerce don’t work correctly even in version 7.3. It is caused by Loco plugin and its not understanding translation files. The frontend shows most of the translations, but some translations don’t. The plugin also causes the site to crash when trying to modify any product with the error message “A serious error has occurred on the site. Please see the site administrator’s email for instructions.”

The Loco plugin on the Themes tab found a translation file for UDesign (alpha) or the file “alpha-cs_CZ.po” but below that is the information “Additional files were found. This package is not fully configured, so we don’t know what the following files are for. To finish configuring the package, click on the configuration tab”. These files are “tgmpa-cs_CZ.po”, u-design.pot and tgmpa.pot.

On the UDesign Core plugin tab, there is another problem and the same message. I have the file “alpha-core-cs_CZ.po” correctly mapped to the plugin translation, but below that are other files that Loco doesn’t know what to do with “u-design-core-cs_CZ.po” and ” u-design-core.pot” and “default.pot”.

So I want to ask, what exactly should be the settings of the translation files u-design-core-cs_CZ.po and alpha-core-cs_CZ.po and finally tgmpa-cs_CZ.po and why it is not all in one file if it is one plugin? I think it’s some bad compatibility between these components.

When I decativate Loco and save the permalinks, the site goes again including the functional editing of the woocommerce product.

Sorry for the inconvenience, it is showing only a couple of WooCommerce templates as outdated because WooCommerce releases it’s update and that is why the single template of the theme has outdated, Our development department is working on the theme update and soon hopefully within a couple of days you will find an updated version of the theme with solved this outdated template issue so until that please be patience.

Thank you @Andon-Design, but even the new template version 4.6 did not fix the compatibility with Woocommrce. After installing the new version of the template, the system reports that it needs to be corrected:

Your template (folie-schedetal) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce files. These files may need updating to be compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. Suggestions to resolve:

Update your template to the latest version. If no update is available, contact the template author to ensure compatibility with the current version of WooCommerce. If you copied the template file to change something, you will need to copy the new version of the file and reapply the changes.

Could you please take a look at this as soon as possible? This is really critical for me. I can’t hand over a broken project to a client.

I can see that with the latest version 4.6 still the notification of the out dated files appears on the site. You can check the change-log of the latest version we cannot said that we fix this in the latest version. Please wait the development department is working on the update and it will be fixed very soon. Once we release an update you will be notified via email.

1- The old version of the UDesign theme was very old compared to the latest themes with the latest technology, features, and coding standards. If we cannot update the theme so it will not work in the future and all of our customer’s sites will be lost. So we make the decision to update it with the latest technology, features, and coding standards we removed the old functionality like shortcodes and we added tons f new features in the theme so that customers don’t need any shortcodes and customization to make the site. Also, I can see that you are not using a page builder plugin to build your site. The latest version of the theme is fully compatible with the Elementor plugin it is the most famous and useable page builder plugin and super easy to use like drag and drop you can use this plugin to build your site using the latest version of the theme. It is my personal opinion for you not to update the theme for now and create a staging site of your current site then update the theme on it after that your site will appear with issues then fix all the issues on the staging site with the latest version and once you have done with it then make it live so that in the future whenever you need to update the theme you will never face any issue again. Otherwise don’t update the theme and use the old version so that your site will appear fine for a period of time. The choice is yours now.

2- Sorry to say, that there is no way to access the middle versions. When you try to update the theme it will updated to the latest version directly.
