WooCommerce widgets are specified in the Appearance > Widgets section of your admin panel. If you’re referring to the specific theme option to add a filter “toggle” for the sidebar, that’s set in the Salient options > WooCommerce > General tab.
Is there a fix for the Salient Visual Composer PHP8 issue? or should I just switch themes?
Hey rhazelrigg, Salient has offered PHP8 compatibility for a couple of years now, and it’s the recommend PHP version to use. However, you’ll need to be a semi-recent release of the theme (and Salient plugins) to get that compatibility. The current release of Salient is 15.0.8 and the current release of the Salient WPBakery Page Builder is 6.9.1. Which versions are you using?

I’m using Salient v7.5.02 and Salient Visual Composer4.12… do I need to purchase something new? I tried adding the js_composer_salient via FTP but I was still having issue on my pages
You don’t need to purchase the theme again in order to receive updates—they’re provided for free. You can update by using any of the methods described here: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/
Since you’re years behind the current release, I would recommend reading through this post to understand the main difference you should be aware of when updating. After you’ve updated the theme, you’ll get access to the Salient WPBakery update through your dashboard which will add PHP8+ compatibility.

You wouldn’t have received updates for Salient through the WP dashboard unless you had installed and configured the Envato Market plugin as mentioned in the docs. If the Envato Market plugin is not active, the only way you would have been able to update would have been if you manually downloaded the theme again from ThemeForest and installed it.

I’ve been trying to use the interactive map element to pin a specific location for my site. The location displayed on the site is slightly wrong when compared to that on google maps though (the pin always seems to be off to the left a bit – not the exact correct location).
I have been using the longitude and latitude numbers from the pin in the google maps url to set the location for the interactive map element and this error still seems to occur.
Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, is there a way to fix this a get a precise location for the interactive map element on my site?

If you could share the URL and lat/lng I’d be glad to take a look. You can also manually adjust the lat/lng for your location, and you could tweak the location with precision by changing the last decimal in your coordinates.

Good evening dear! A pleasure as always and thanks for your work in advance! I’m having a problem with the videos that we use in the backgrounds of rows and columns that are driving me crazy! The videos that are uploaded on the web are not heavy, moreover, they are very short, they last around 3 to 7 seconds and they are also uploaded in mp4 and webm format, which is what is recommended in the documentation. However, every time the video starts playing in a loop again, there is a black screen that is unpresentable and unbearable. It is worth emphasizing that the videos are edited and there is no black part in them. Can you give me a hand to solve this problem? This does not happen with the videos that you use in the demos of the Salient template that are online! Please I hope you can help me since I don’t know what else to do. Hello.
Whenever I use the image gallery on a page design the images always appear soft. They’re not blurred but they lose their sharpness. Is as if the preview images aren’t rendering properly, because if I click on a individual image and open it in a lightbox, the image is pin sharp and looks exactly the way it was uploaded.
Can you please let me know the cause of the problem? I am using an up to date version of Firefox on a Mac.

I recently inherited the management of a website using Salient version 12.1.0.
I would like to buy the theme so that I always have it updated. In this moment it is active a Child Theme and the client is happy about the style and the configurations.
Can I update the theme without any issues? Is there anything in particular I should do to keep the current style and configurations of the Child Theme?

As long as your client doesn’t have template overrides within the child theme, there won’t be any additional work. Your theme settings will automatically persist through updating.
If your child theme does have template overrides, they might need to be updated to reflect the current parent theme versions if you run into any display issues.

first of all: fantastic theme. It’s really easy to achieve great results for the most part, even without knowing anything about code.
I’m using the theme for a video portfolio (post grid). All videos are self-hosted and every video opens in lightbox only. I’m using Fancybox3 because magnify fails to show the videos (image can not be loaded).
Is there any way to add text under the lightbox videos? Just one line to state clients, agencies, roles etc. would be enough.

Hey DenK3000, the default theme Lightbox can be disable via the Salient options panel > general settings > functionality tab with the “Theme Lightbox” option, however, you’ll still need to likely do some modifications to the portfolio output from your child theme in order to query and add for that additional data to be displayed.
