I spoke with your developer and here’s what I told him..

Your pricing doesn’t work very well for the Providers or Customers.. You need to allow “Per hour pricing” for the Providers and not a “Flat Fee.” Or, make your pricing a “Sliding Price Scale.”

By making the bookings a “Flat Fee” does not allow the Providers to make any money if the Customer books the Provider for the whole day. Your pricing / booking model does not look sustainable to me.

I logged into your “Customerdemo” site and tried to book a service.. and here’s what I see.

If the Provider’s Service Availability is from 11a – 6p and the Provider is charging $150 “Flat fee” then, if a Customer comes along and wants to book the Provider for 1 hour.. the Customer still has to pay $150.. or, if the same Customer wanted to book the Provider for the full 7 hours (11a – 6p) the Provider is still only getting $150 for that 7 full hours the way it’s currently set up on the Customerdemo backend.. this doesn’t make any financial sense for the Provider.. it’s wasting the Providers valuable time.

So, if the Provider is charging $150 for 1 hour.. then, the Customer may choose not to book this Provider because the Provider is too expensive.. and, on the other hand, if the Provider is charging $150 for a full 7 hours (11a – 6p) then, the Provider is loosing money with this scenario.

Example:

Provider works 12 hours = Provider only earns $150? (doesn’t make financial sense for Provider)

Same service Provider works 1 hour = $150? (doesn’t make financial sense for the Customer to pay)

It seems like a better solution would be to allow the booking plugin to “add” $xxx time’s the number of hours being booked. So, example.. if Customer books 2 hours at $150 that should = $300 ($150 x’s 2 hours) the Provider makes, minus Admin commission.. or, if the Customer books 3 hours at $150 that should = $450 ($150 x’s 3 hours) >>> and the booking plugin should update in real-time for the Customer to see that it’s going to cost them for the number of hours they are booking.

Other Service Based businesses like https://TaskRabbit.com and other Service sites use a “Sliding Pricing Model” so, the Provider doesn’t get taken advantage of and is paid for their service hours worked. What Provider would work for 12 hours for $150?
