Ok, I think I figured it out. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t put those instructions somewhere in the top level folder of the download or something. This is a ridiculous way to get a product and it makes me question the code quality.

I’ll request to update the documentation for your latest version at the earliest. I am working with vue version.

It would be really great if you can brief the steps as what exactly they do in your documentation.

Like for example, it will really help developer if you can detail out with one complete change cycle for say a link or button and calling a web service to fetch data and display it. Also how to submit data using forms in your theme.

Please note that some core plugins that Metronic depends, such as, Select, Datatables.net, Datepicker, etc are not compatible with Vite in the meantime we have to use Webpack Mix for our Laravel Starter Kit. We may support Vite in the near future once all the 3rd party plugins we use are compatible with Vite.

You can execute your custom code in script tag in the bottom of the html document on content ready after all the core js code loaded:

You can also add your custom script under themes/metronic/html/demo1/src/js/layout folder and compile it with gulp or webpack to include in the global bundle.

After the compilation you can find the compile js script in the assets folder and you can include it in your pages.

Please note that the build tools are required only in the development environment just to compile the assets when the source folder files are modified. In the hosting/server deployment, you will only need the compile assets, no need to install the build tools dependencies there.
