So you must have something in your slides that it does not like. Double check all your sublayers and make sure nothing is off or wrong. There are no reported issues with Layer Slider and Chrome so it must be the content.

What file are you uploading? Make sure you are only uploading the “avada.zip” file and not the entire “package.zip” file.

Check out our documentation on how to install the theme, you can do it via Wordpress or via FTP, it also includes a video tutorial.

Let me know if you still have issue, but it sounds like you are uploading the entire package.

I tried the method in the tutorial and in your reply but for some reason all I get is a white button with black text.

Any ideas? Where can I find the actual CSS file with the tp-button blue small class. I’m thinking it may be easiest just to modify that…

Wonderful! Yeah that is the code you need for a button, as long as its inserted into a sublayer in the custom HTML field it will show up.

Thanks for checking again. I have also seen that the user “i3ringit” highlighted the issue as well, so it’s not only me who has these issues. On page 93 of the comments he posted that “hovering over the main menu links” is causing problems in Chrome. That’s exactly what I’m seeing in the menu. I am not sure if this is really linked to the Museo Slab font you mentioned or caused by something else.

I agree that it’s weird that you are unable to reproduce this. As said, I’ve installed a clean and new version of Chrome portable with no extensions/plugins/etc. installed. Also, other than the standard Microsoft protection, there is no fancy anti virus or firewall on my computer installed that could block some of your scripts.

Let me know if I can help you any further in investigating this issue.

one additional idea: would it be possible to access an online demo of your theme using a different font (any other than Museo Slab) before purchasing it?

That issue reported by the other user was due to their font they were using. We are not able to reproduce this issue at all. And not to sound negative in anyway here, but out of 7400+ sales, if there was an issue like that it would of been brought up hundreds if not thousands of times by users and potential buyers.

I’m not doubting you see an issue, I believe you but we dont see it nor can reproduce it. Our only guess since it has not been brought up by anyone else with our demo or their own sites is that its something in your local system. And no other users have reported this here or on our forum, and we do not see the issue either. We have checked multiple times. If there was an issue, we would be the first to fix it, we simply do not see it.

Yes, you need to import the XML file. We have instructions and video tutorial on how to do that, its inside the “documentation” folder. THe “index.html” is the documentation and has tons of info, instructions, videos and screenshots for our users.

Definitely take some time and look it over, it has a table of contents and all sections are well organized with instructions on how to do stuff.

One thing to note, the XML import is unable to include the sliders. But we made instructions and videos for each slider so its easy to setup.

For the support forum, you have to use the same themeforest username when making your account. It works with your purchase code. So when you create your accoutn on our support forum, you need to use “lettings4students” as th username. It will work if you do that.

Yes you can have your titles/headings be a google font, and you body font be another font. Its all done in theme options.

The theme is good but I need to know how I put the footer with only 2 columns.

I have information for only two and it puts always 4 :/

For the footer, please see the below topic on our forum. Its for going from 4 to 3, but its the same idea. You need to sign up with our forum by creating a free account. Please see the FREE SUPPORT section of the documentation that was included with your download. Sign up, then see the below thread.

For translating, did you follow the steps in the documentation? Its “Section U: How To translate”

Really all you need to do is replace the Avada theme folder via FTP, then go back to your WP admin and refresh the page. That will deactivate all your standalone plugins and use the new integrated plugins. We also recommend deleting the standalone plugins via FTP.

That worked! I simply overwrote the existing folder and I’m good to go! 2.0.5 compliant now!!

So I should go ahead and activate the child theme and then will I need to import my slider data there as well? I don’t have many customizations at all, so should I just work off the parent theme?

I’m assuming future updates will be just like this, just overwrite the folder with the new folder?

Also, last thing, I can go ahead an update to WP 3.5, right? Let me know if you start using the envato auto updater plugin from Github.

Yes just work off the parent theme if that is what you have been doing. Yes future updates are like this, download new version, simply replace Avada theme folder via FTP. Nice and easy!

Yes v2.0.5 is WP 3.5 compliant so you can update. AndI will certainly report back about the auto updater, we’ll check it out for sure.

Hmmm … It looks like it was not updated correctly, I would need to look at this first hand. You can email me your WP login info and your FTP login info and I can take a look.

Also, try a fresh install and make sure all your old plugin folders are removed from the “wp-content > plugins” folder.

Also, were you always using the child theme? And did you use the new child theme that came with the new download?

Yes you need to read the READ ME FIRST pdf file at root level, specifically #5 about plugins.

5. Plugins – Now Integrated!

All 4 plugins we include (Revolutions Slider, Layer Slider, Post Types Order, FlexSlider) are now fully integrated into the theme. This is great for the user and for us! When you update Avada, a script is going to automatically run that will de-activate all your plugins and activate the new integrated plugins. This is a short process. Once the script runs and you go back into your Wordrpess admin and refresh the page, you will get a Fatal Error or White Screen, this is normal. Simply refresh the page and the script will complete and the new integrated plugins will be acitve, and the old plugins will be de-activated. You should then delete the 4 old plugins via FTP that are now de-activated. Do not attempt to activate the 4 plugins that are now integrated or you will get a fatal error, just delete them.

So it sounds like you need to delete the standalone plugin folders via FTP located in “wp-content > plugins”. They are now integrated so yuou cant use the standalone versions.

Yes it would take some code customization. If you are an intermediate coder then you should be able to do it, and if not then we do have a support staff person on our forum who takes on small customization jobs like this if you wanted to go that route.

And I like the idea of having multiple column layouts so I will add this to our feature list for a possible future update. We update frequently for our users and keep Avada fresh with new features all the time so this should not be an issue to add in a future release.

All of our home pages, except for Home Page 7, is the REvolution Slider. As our docs and videos state, the demo data does not and can’t include the slider data. The slides have to be setup by themselves. The slider data can be exported then imported, but it will not include the images, therefor it will not work and display properly.

But we make it easy for you and have made video tutorials to follow. watch our Revolution Slider video tutorial that is in the documentation, it shows you how to make a slider like our demo on home page 1. We also have videos for each of the other sliders as well.
