I did a fresh install and then imported the demo again. The only page created is the page Typography. Mailchimp is activated/API Key.

Is it a page we have to create manually, the Subscribe page?

If it isn’t in the demo data, you can create one. The demo is simply the MailChimp form embedded in the page and a featured image. You can then link your CTA/subscribe button to the page.

Hi,

Ruki supports WPML plugin which does not require any specific theme/plugin support for customizer strings. Polylang requires specific support for customizer strings which is not included in Ruki theme plugins

If you want to use Polylang you would need to convert all esc_attr functions with esc_html__ functions in Ruki plugins. They would then be picked up by Polylang for translation.

1. Yes, 4 column grid and masonry is supported. You are right, none of the demos show this, I might add some more demos with 4 columns.

2. It’s not supported but a single line of CSS will allow you to change that.

Ruki serves larger images in order to handle high resolution displays. Scaling down larger images prevents blurry images in 4k/Retina/High Resolution displays.

Ruki already serves different size images depending on the layout selected but I do have an update planned for later this year which will include improved image sizing.

No, none of my themes support Elementor. All of my themes are specifically designed for Gutenberg or the classic editor.

Gutenberg is not a fully fledged page builder (yet), but it’s great for creating content for your posts/pages. If you want to build complex pages my themes are probably not for you but there are lots of themes in the marketplace built around Elementor that may be better suited to your needs.

If you want a lightweight, easy to use, Gutenberg for content creation theme, Ruki or Carrino will serve you well.

You can edit the hero.js file in /themes/ruki/js/slick-inline.js.

Find all instances of this line: autoplay: true, and change to autoplay: false,

That’s a WordPress setting; Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most

If you are using the child theme, simply add your own CSS to the supplied CSS file (inside the child theme folder) otherwise Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

1. I recommend https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-google-fonts/ or https://wordpress.org/plugins/olympus-google-fonts/

2. Upload the largest resolution you can, WP will generate the requires sizes and HTML for standard and retina.

3. You would need to use custom CSS .single h1.entry-title { display:none;}

4. Do you mean instead of the featured image (single posts)? If so Yes, set the post type to video and embed a video in your post with any of the video or embed blocks. Ruki will take the first embed and set that as your featured media.

If you have access to FTP you can;

1. Upload the entire theme (overwriting the current version)

2. Upload just the parts updated in this update. Which are: style.css and “fontello” folder in /css/fontello

If you want to try different demos, you will need to reset your Customizer settings before installing a new demo.

Install Customizer Reset

Go to Appearance → Customize → Reset.

You can now install a different demo

You may still need to manually remove some of the widgets

I deactiveded several ruki plugins, because I did not use them. ruki featured posts, hero, homepage post blocks, related posts and social plugins. and one click demo import. But now I am getting this weird problem: In google if I search for a keyword for my website, the urls appear with a ? behind them. I got the first message about it from google on 12/28 about one url and yesterday about more urls with ? with Page indexing issue fixes (Alternative page with proper canonical tag) DO I need to activate an plugin again?

This is a server, wp setting or url rewrite issue, not a theme issue.

Settings > Permalinks. Check your URL settings. If you have custom URL settings you may need to contact your host to help configure the rewrite rules.
