Hello, I have a question about the new ‘Post Loop Builder’ feature. Can you post => ads? in the middle of the loop?
I mean for example: Post Type => Blog Post Posts per page => 5 Display Type => Carousel
Can I publish an ad, for example, in position 3? Or just a full image? The solution I would like (in this example it is at position 3, but I would like to be able to insert it wherever I want, position 1,4,2, it doesn’t matter) post + post + ad (full image) + post + post….
It’s possible? I find an embed plugin but I don’t know how it works or where to put the ad shortcode. The basic setup is just placing the ad in different parts of the page, but nothing about how to insert an ad or image into a post loop.
And I don’t know if it’s the right way to do it either. That’s why I ask you, because you surely know where the loop function is and how to add an ad or a shortcode there. Thank you so much.
Hey inobot,
There’s no built-in functionality to render custom content between items within the loop as of now. However, it’s something that’s on our wishlist. For now, it would require custom modifications via a child theme.
Kind regards
But i don’t know how to do a custom modifications … Where is the function? What’s the name? The parameters? .. Can you give me a few steps to try to implemented or try to investigate how i can do it please.. thanks
Hey inobot, the file used to create the loop is located at: wp-content/plugins/salient-core/includes/vc_templates/nectar_post_grid.php
if you would like further assistance with this, please open a ticket on the support forum in regards
Thanks in advance
wow! Thanks!
I modified the nectar_post_grid to nectar_post_grid_ad to adding custom ads, on the position i want, but… I have a really big problem now. I don’t know how to add this new complement to wpbakery to see it on the adding element options:
I think i have to include the new element nectar_post_grid_ad to different places, but i never did it before and i don’t know in what archives i have to added.
Can you help me about where in wich archives i have to added? i mean. Is in nectar-addons? wp-bakery init?salient-studio template?
Thanks
Hey inobot,
Duplicating the Post Loop builder element fully into a variant would require many steps. Instead I would recommend editing the nectar_post_grid.php and add conditionals into it. You can keep that file in your child theme to override it without editing the core version: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/overriding-salient-wpbakery-element-template-files-through-a-child-theme/
Yes, I had already found this step.
The problem is that if I modify the loop this way, every time I use the loop it will have an advertisement.
And I do not want that. I want to have both complements working. Being able to choose from the wpbackery if I use the nectar_post_grid or nectar_post_grid_ad complement.
That would be perfect. to be able to use the original and the one with the ad, since the modification I have made only adds the url of the ad image from the same vc_templates. I have not managed to modify the file so that new fields appear within the component in wordpress,
I think that is too much for me currently. That's why when making this modification I had thought about whether to add different modifications, but first I must be able to add it as a complement and that is where I currently have the problem.
I am very sorry for all these questions, so I thank you in advance for your response, you are helping me a lot.
Hey inobot, we would glad to continue following up with this on the support forum, as this is not the location where customization assistance is provided. Kindly open a ticket on the support forum in regards
Hey,
I just bought this not realising that you don’t use Elementor. Do you have any plans to use it in future?
Thanks
Hey J2O, as of now there are no plans to port Salient over to Elementor, however if you’d like to get a refund you can do so from here: https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new

In the new woocommerce block based checkout it seems the payment method icons are set to 100% width, I believe these should be auto?
Default 100% width: https://ibb.co/K6QKtVt
Auto: https://ibb.co/vD0n1Tj
There seems to be the same issue on the new block based cart page.
Cart page: https://ibb.co/HrYqGYS
Can this be addressed in an update?
The layout of the cart page and order of the elements is a bit odd.
Current cart: https://ibb.co/WFPJY8s
desired cart: https://ibb.co/XW65CVL
Hey MarcGarner,
1. Can you share a test URL which shows the image width issue so I can take a closer look?
2. Those layouts are created using nested WooCommerce blocks under the hood, so we don’t have fine control over the layout from the theme side as with legacy cart/checkout.
Kind regards
Hello, Global Sections control is great, but it would be amazing if we can have additional display condition if we want to use Global Section only on Shop page. Or there is workaround for that?
Hey robotnjik!
You can already chain 2 conditions together to make the display limited to the Shop archives only if desired: https://ibb.co/F6ptbsx

Is there a way to remove the nectar underline effect on active links? I would prefer to have an option to remove that animated line if possible. Thanks
Hey Linkinspy,
You can adjust the active/hover styling used in the header navigation via the Salient options > Header navigation > Animation effects tab.
Kind regards
Hi, thanks for the response. The underline effect I’m referring to isn’t for the navigation. If I build a global section that I use as a footer and I place text that’s hyperlinked it automatically places an underline on it. I’ve previously been able to place text that’s hyperlinked and it would have a color change effect when hovered over. Now it just has that permanent underline and that’s what I’m trying to remove.
Hey Linkinspy,
Can you verify that you have the “General Link Style” set to “Inherit Accent Color” in the Salient options > Styling, and the “Footer Link Hover Effect” set to “Opacity/Color Change” in the Salient options > Footer?
If you already do, kindly share the page URL so that I can take a look at the settings to guide you to the right location.
I would like to reposition the Nectar Slider down scroll arrow. Is there a way to achieve this manually? Thank you kindly!
Hey ANewPretty,
It would require some custom CSS. Here’s an example you can add into the custom CSS box located in the Salient options panel > General Settings > CSS/Script related tab:
body .swiper-wrapper .slider-down-arrow {
bottom: 60px;
left: 10%;
}
Kind regards
Hi. I’ve had this theme for years and recently had an issue with my hosting and ended up having to reinstall everything. I’m trying to get my contact page to look like it did originally (out of the box, not custom) and I’m not having any luck. I found my original site on an internet archive. Here is what that page used to look like back in Jan 2019 (might take a few extra seconds to load): https://web.archive.org/web/20190121223039/https://incpowerment.com/contact/
Here is the page on the new install i recently completed: https://incpowerment.com/contact/.
Two questions: 1) how do i get rid of the google map on the contact form template? 2) how do i style the form to look like it used to? I tried both contact form 7 and wpform and neither worked. I basically lost the original site, so i don’t have the benefit of going back and looking at the configuration.
Any help you can provide is appreciated. Thanks!
Hey chocopink!
1. You can remove the map by changing your page template from the currently selected “Contact” to “Default”: https://ibb.co/dJYD8Wv
2. You can make that change by adding the following snippet into the custom CSS box located in the Salient options panel > General Settings > CSS/Script related tab:
.span_12.light input::placeholder,
.span_12.light textarea::placeholder {
color: #fff;
}
If you’d like further assistance with this, kindly open a ticket on the support forum in regards.
Cheers
I appreciate your help, thanks! One thing about changing the page template to default is I get the breadcrumbs in the middle of the page regardless if I force transparent navigation… I spent hours trying to figure this out before breaking down and asking here, lol. I’ll see if I can figure it out. I appreciate your help.
yeah… I’ve gone through all the options again. I you can help me work through this… I switched to the default templates and now there is a fantom white space containing the menu/breadcrumbs between the header and content and below the content. I’m stumped on what else to try. Just tried disabling child theme and still nothing.
Hey chocopink,
If you’re seeing breadcrumbs, there’s likely being added through an SEO plugin such as Yoast. If you’re using Yoast, you can disable them in the plugin settings
Kind regards
yep… that took care of the issue. I truly appreciate you! thanks…
Glad I could help, chocopink
Why can’t I change the mobile (hamburger) menu to black? It’s taken me over an hour to find the code, I apply it to CSS, and then it overwrites and goes back to white a few minutes later. I’m using the Corporate Creative demo to get started and I’ve tried adjusting all the settings in the theme settings. Please help!
Hey lsdrscll,
The Corporate Creative demo will only show the mobile menu in white when the transparent effect is active. Once you’ve scrolled down, the transparent effect will be removed and the default menu color of black will be displayed as shown on the demo: https://themenectar.com/salient/corporate-creative/
You should not need code to alter both the transparent or regular states of colors. The transparent (starting) state can be edited in the Salient options > Header navigation > Transparent effect tab via the field “Header Starting Text Color,” and the default color is set via the Header navigation > Color scheme tab through the field “Header Font.”
If you’ve already set those and it’s not taking effect, please share your actual URL so that I can take a look to assist.
Kind regards
Hello,
I wanted to know if there was a way to change the side where the social network icons are displayed in the menu? I’d like them to be displayed on the right and not on the left as they are now.
I tested this on the support but it doesn’t seem to work.
@media only screen and (min-width:1000px){ body #social-in-menu { float: right !important; } }
Hey MAJMonaco,
Can you kindly share your URL in regards so that I can see what theme options you’re using to provide the needed snippet?
Thanks in advance
No worries, MAJMonaco
You can make that change by adding the following snippet into the custom CSS box located in the Salient options panel > General Settings > CSS/Script related tab:
body #header-outer[data-format=centered-logo-between-menu] nav #social-in-menu {
position: absolute;
right: 0;
left: auto;
}
Thanks, perfect!
You’re welcome, MAJMonaco
I’m getting this fairly long error message on a page on my website. Wondering if you can help me resolve it. I’m running the latest Wordpress and Salient versions. The plugins on the site are fairly light but I am running Woocommerce Membership plugin in case that helps. Thank you!
Error message: [vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle”...
Link to page: https://shorturl.at/ejqLT
Hey ehong33234,
That’s not an error message, but rather shortcode elements which would be rendered into page builder elements by the Salient WPBakery page builder. Did you deactivate that plugin?
Kind regards
I didn’t deactivate it and it is currently running version 6.13.1. Any other suggestions?
I just updated to the latest 7.1 and the problem still persists. I will say that I am running Woocommerce Memberships on this page (latest version 1.26.1) which restricts the page from viewing to people who are not paid members. Any suggestions or ideas how to fix this?
I was able to resolve this by going into the Woocommerce Memberships plugin settings and disable “Show excerpts” option.
I’m glad you were able to fix it, ehong33234
I’m getting the following message:
Your theme (Salient Child Theme) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files
When I accessed the WooCommerce System Status list here’s the message that I’m seeing:
salient-child/woocommerce/emails/admin-new-order.php version 2.5.0 is out of date. The core version is 3.7.0 salient-child/woocommerce/emails/customer-invoice.php version 2.5.0 is out of date. The core version is 3.7.0
I’m currently running the Child Theme with Salient 16.1.3
What would you suggest as a remedy?
Hey Linkinspy,
Salient does not include an override for those template by default, so you must manually added one to your child theme at some point.
emails/admin-new-order.php emails/customer-invoice.phpYou can correct the warning the updating the template inside of your child theme to match the current version of the file within WooCommerce
Kind regards
Pre-sales question: I like the dark blog for our new motorcycle club, and Woocommerce can be activated into that.
Hey PrimeFusionLtd,
Yes, you can utilize WooCommerce with any of the demos shown, even if they do not show an example store.
Kind regards
Hi there. The Custom CSS Code box in salient settings is missing. And when I click on the cog on a page editor to enter custom CSS there, nothing happens. I’ve never had this problem before with the theme. Any ideas?
Hey wints77,
It sounds like you’re running into a JS issue in your setup which is breaking various functionality. Have you tried to disable your third party plugins yet to see if one is conflicting? If you’ve already ruled that out, kindly open a ticket on the support forum in regards
Thanks. No 3rd party plugins other than those that come with the theme. Will raise a ticket
Thanks wints77
Hi, I want all links around the site (except buttons, navigation, etc.) to be underlined. I applied the following style, but now the default arrow in buttons is underlined too.
a { text-decoration: underline; font-weight: 500; }
Can you please help?
Hey apinzon, there’s a built-in theme option to change the link style to underline in the Salient options > General settings > Styling tab called “General Link Style”.
Kind regards
hi, wondering if you have a simillar type of menu like in this example https://dribbble.com/shots/16388910-Sustainability-Tenets thanks
Hey dimage, Unfortunately Salient doesn’t offer any menu style similar to that at this time.
Kind regards
Hi ThemeNectar,
2023 WP Theme of the Year!!!!
Website link: https://www.designreborne.com/our-work
I have a couple of questions regarding the “Portfolio Sortable Filters”
1. How do you fully align the menu to the left? Currently, it is indented which I do not like. Can the indent be removed?
2. On smaller devices, is it possible to have the filter options stacked?
Thanks for your help.
Best, Alan
Hey Alan, thanks for your kind words!
1. In the Salient options > Header navigation > layout & content related tab and enable the “Full Width Header Content” option. You can then specify the left/right padding below that option.
2. You can make that change by adding the following snippet into the custom CSS box located in the Salient options panel > General Settings > CSS/Script related tab:
@media only screen and (min-width: 1px) and (max-width: 999px) {
body .portfolio-filters-inline ul li {
display: block;
}
body .portfolio-filters-inline ul li a {
padding-left: 0!important;
}
}
Cheers
Hi ThemeNectar,
Thank you for the quick reply, appreciate it.
As you can see from the attached screenshot I am trying to get the horizontal sortable menu aligned to the left and not indented. How can the achieved?
https://prnt.sc/9kwM4twDBf1EThanks for your help.
Best, Alan
Sorry about that Alan, I thought you were referring to the header navigation bar.
You can make that modification by using this snippet:
#ajax-content-wrap .portfolio-filters-inline .container {
max-width: none;
}
Cheers
No need to apologize. Thank you for the quick reply and snippet of code. The code does exactly what I was hoping it would do. Many thanks.
Glad I could help
I have a website where some of the featured images are working on this page and some are not. I have tried everything. Has anyone had this issue, how did you resolve? https://matrexexhibits.com/our-work/. I think it has something to do with the portfolio grid options, the meta options. Seems to be ok with the 3d parallax on hover.
Hey cruxcreative,
Have you tried to regenerate your thumbnails yet to ensure that all of the sizes exist on your server? You can do so with the following plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
Kind regards
Is it possible to use the product page gallery style from – https://themenectar.com/salient/ecommerce-robust/product/instant-wrinkle-remover/ – for mobile only? We’d like to have no image thumbnails under the image and have the next image peeking in from the side on mobile.
Currently using the bottom thumbnails slider and would like to keep this on desktop – https://www.foodieflavours.com/shop/flavours/natural-flavouring/pistachio/
Hey MarcGarner, that would require some customization which is beyond the scope of what we can assist with here. If you’d like to open a ticket on the support forum in regards we’d be happy to follow up.
Thanks in advance
How do I create padding between the columns? I can’ seem to find it, except in the overarching Row settings, which allow only column spacing, not row padding. That grid is 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4
https://joshua-butler.com/12323-2I mean equal padding between the columns and rows, even when they wrap responsively
Hey joshuabbutler,
The parent Row element has a field labeled “Column Margin”, which is how you can add a gap between your columns for the desktop view. It looks like you started using that in your second row setup on your example page.
Also ensure that the parent column has a matching value for the field “Column Element Spacing” as you’ve set in the inner row “Column Margin”. Here’s an example that you can copy and paste in your page builder: https://pastes.io/nyzvb2qasi
Kind regards
Thanks for the example. I see it has two inner rows. I don’t have a specific way to build it, the problem is for tablet like screen sizes where I want it to go from 4 columns with two rows to 2 columns with 4 rows. The example you sent it jumped from 4 columns to a single column.
I modified the code you sent to add the responsive breaks and the inner rows when they wrap are touching the card above, you can see here https://joshua-butler.com/12323-2
Thanks!
if I add margins, it always pushes the cards out of the viewport, and the padding is for inside the cards, so there does’t seem to be a good way to distribute space between the cards if they responsively wrap to the next line. So, a 4×1 wraps to a 2×2 for example.
Basically, when the columns wrap responsively I need a gap between he rows that form with the wrap
I feel it needs to be “1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4” and there needs to be space between the rows when the second set of 1/4 columns wrap, and then when it wraps again for tablet
I’m not sure if this is the best way, but what I did was make 2 inner rows with 4 columns each. I put a 5px border around them with a transparent color, then I put a 5px padding around the parent row. Then under the Parent row column settings, I set “Column Element Spacing” to “None”. That gave it the appearance I was looking for.
Hey joshuabbutler, here’s an updated example which goes to 2×2 in-between the 4 and 1: https://pastes.io/bszrgm9ty5
Kind regards
Ah, I see, add margin to the bottom of each column, and then let the row define the column spacing. Thanks!
You’re welcome, joshuabbutler
