Is the data included in the purchase or do you have to figure out where to put what content and widgets where?
We include the demo data (XML file) and give you instructions and a video tutorial on how to import it. Its easy to do. But the demo data does not include the sliders, those have to setup. But we provide easy to follow video tutorials on how to set up each of the 4 sliders. And the footer widgets do not get included in the XML file, but I show you how to quickly set those up in the same XML video, they are very easy to do.
Our documentation is very detailed and includes multiple video tutorials and screenshots to make it as easy as possible. And we have a support forum for our users if you have any questions or need help with anything.

It supports any videos you can upload to Vimeo or youtube.
I’ll need to check on the self hosting videos, I’m not entirely sure of that off hand.
Hi there, I am interested in purchasing Avada and have pre-purchase questions. Sorry if they seem obvious but I have not bought any CMS themes/templates before and am currently switching to Wordpress from Joomla, where there has not been so much choice! Here goes: 1) For the portfolio categories, can we choose our own category names ie recipes, destinations, etc instead of design, logo, photography as per your screenshots? 2) Other than font and background colour, can we change the styling of the menu or alternatively can we add a menu builder plug-in that will work with Avada? 3) With a regular license purchase, I understand that we can only use Avada for one website install. What happens if we change hosting company – can I move the site including instance of Avada easily? 4) Will the Avada copyright and built with Wordpress message in the footer be displayed on the website I create using Avada? Can it be removed or changed (there will be other elements on the site with different copyright owners). Thanks in advance!

1. Yes you can use any category names you want, and all the attributes on the sidebar of the single post pages can be customized as well. Its very flexible
2. The styling of the menu can be changed but only with custom CSS. We have a CSS field in theme options that allows users to easily insert their own custom styles. We have not tested the theme with any “mega menu” plugins so I cant honestly say yes or no. But we do plan on testing some for a future release.
3. Yes you can move the site if you change hosting. As long as its the same site you are all good. You only need to make a second purchase if you are using it on a second site. For example, you are using it for your business site, then you also want to use it for a personal site. Then you would need to make a second purchase. One purchase is good for one site.
4. Yes you can remove that or change it to say whatever you want, that is all done in our theme options panel, making it nice and easy

Great theme! I had a few questions though before I purchase:
1. How customizable is the menu bar background? In your demo it has a white background. Can you change the color or use an image to incorporate the logo in it? 2. Can the menu appearance be changed? For example can you just have a menu with just text with no color bar over it as you mouse over menu options. 3. How customizable is the title bar (ie About Us) background. In the demo it is grey with some kind of bubble background. Is there a feature to adjust color and or use an image. 4. I also wanted to translate it into several languages. I believe this is translation ready?

1. Do you mean the entire header background? We provide the CSS for users who want to change the color of it.
2. Yes that can be done with a simple line of CSS. We can give that to you if you need it.
3. The “page title bar” can use any color you wish or can have a custom image. All of that is easily done via theme options. And, you can also have a custom image or color in the page title bar for each page if you want. Each page can show or hide the page title bar, and can also have its own custom image or color so you are not stuck with the same image on every page. Same thing for the background image in the boxed mode layout.
4. Yes its translation ready, and our wonderful users have given us multiple languages already translated and we add more often.

In response to question 1 (” do you mean the entire header background?”); I wanted to have the ability to change the color of the entire header background or use an image there instead . I will still want to place the logo in there as well with menu items. Is that easily done? If css has to be provided is there an extra charge for that?
Yes the logo is easily inserted via theme options. The header background color can be changed with a single line of CSS that I can give you. Inserting an image will be a little different but can also be don with CSS.
We do not offer customization services, but we are willing to help with basic CSS mods, like the ones I mentioned. But anything beyond that we do not supply. But most things are done via theme options and do not need any extra work.

Hi, I’ve a presale question: in the html source of the live demo, there are two inline blocks of code: one javascript and one css. To best improve SEO optimization is there a way to remove this inline blocks of code? It would very important. Thank you very much!

At this time its not possible unless you know how to edit the PHP files and customize it.
But we have had enough requests for this and will be adding this functionality to a future release, most likely in v3.0. I’m just not sure when that would be, but it wont be very long.
I have seen some other users who have done this already. You could post up on our forum and ask if any of those users can share what they did. I would include – USER HELP – in the title of the thread, that way our support staff knows you are looking for user help. Our support only covers regular use of the theme, and any bug related issues.
But we will implement that feature in a future release so its just a matter of time.

Another persales question (my last one): Can the side navigation page be made the homepage? And can the horizontal row/space between the header and the page, where “Side Navigation” appears in your demo be excluded? Thank you!
Yes if you want the side navigation page to be your home page then you can select that in the “settings > reading” section of your admin.
You just cant combine one of our home pages with the side nav template, but you can set the side nav template to be the home page. And the side nav template can have a slider up top if you wish.
And yes, the horizontal bar with the page title on it is called the “page title part” and you can chose to show or hide it on any page you make. And you can use an image or a color inside of it, and use breadcrumbs or a search bar on the right hand side of it.

Please use our support forum for help. And read through the XML section of our documentation for info about failed imports. Those are simply images and your host is having an issue with importing them. But they are just images, you will be using your own images anyways.

Supplement to the simplification: Is it mandatory that may be active in installing AVADA any widgets or plugins from third parties? Some widgets could make layout troubles …? Also the workspace was to little, but permissions are correctly. After first installations came a question about “Post Type Order” I have 2 options: Auto sort or Admin sort, I selected both ..? I don’t know its important …
You can use or try and widget you want, but yes its true that not every plugin or plugin will work with every theme. There are thousands of them out there so its impossible to tell which will and which wont. Our suers have not had any issues with any of the major plugins.

Hi, this theme looks great, and the responsiveness of it is really appealing to me.
I use my website as a portfolio for my images, which are photography.
So I want my pages to display purely pictures, and sometimes a large amount of pictures per page.
Does this theme allow this, so that I could produce a portfolio?
And also would it be easy to do this?

Yes you can do that with this theme, no problem. If you have a lot of images then you could insert a gallery for them, or insert them individually. You can have as many as you want, and you don’t need to have any of the other pages. You can pick and choose what you want or don’t want.

You could use a gallery then which uses the lightbox.
Or you could use the portfolio page still and we can disable the link to the single page, but single pages would still be made, the user just would not be able to get to them.
But if you ahve a lot of images, its best to insert a gallery, and each image will open in a ligthbox, like here …

A surprising little situation:
The whole navigation system, all the submenus are to each other, not as a place holder and slider ever sees the home of chaotic 
What did I do wrong? Have your demo XML data imported, nothing has changed.
No Navigation Line in the Top. No Slider space as empty placeholder to see. Special question: do you have any demo data xml files for the sliders?

I’m sorry but I dont know if I fully understand what you are explaining.
If you imported the XML file, then you need to follow all the steps and set the menu and the mani navigation. Please watch our video tutorial on importing the XML. It sounds like you have not set the mani navigation in the menu section of admin.
For the sliders, please watch our video tutorials for the slider you want to use, it shows you how to create them and use them. The layer slider allows you to easily import the slides from the author, at the top is a “import sample slides” button, simply click that and it gives you their 4 slides.
And check out our forum for additional questions/support, we are moving everything there now. Comments here are more for pre-sales questions. I see … No we dont have a shortcode for a table like that, our shortcodes are for our pricing tables, like our demo shows.
I would imagine they used a plugin for that, and its the Avada theme so it work with it.

Awsome theme! I have some presales questions: 1) Can I use the sidebar navigation also in the homepage below the sliders section? 2) How many Sub-categories can I create in the sidebar? Like you have Advanced Admin Panel => Gallery of Screenshots (Sub-category). 3) Is there a shortcode for a table, like the pricing table? I would need a table like the pricing table, but w/o the price and sign up row. 4) When there is a table, is it sortable by coulmns? 5) Contact Page: Can I Leave out the Google Maps? 6) Contact Page: Can I use more fields for the submit form?

3. Yes, shortcode for both pricing tables. Just about everything you see has shortcodes. See the shortcodes section of our demo.
4. Not sure what you mean exactly, our shortcodes include columns, you can have as many or as little as you want for each pricing table.
5. Yes you dont have to use the google map
6. Yes but you would need to use a plugin like contact form 7, or modify our current form. Lots of our users have been using contact form 7 with ease.

One $40 purchase is good for one site license. So if you are using it in a multi-site environment with multiple users, and each user has their own site, then that is not allowed. Each user would need to make a single theme purchase.

I’m setting up a website of company, and I need the home page show “latest news” through blog (no thumbnail). I want it just simply list 5 titles of the news, one title each line (column) with proper font size. now it can only show 3 or 4 columns with bold title.
is there any solution? thanks.

The font size and font face are controlled via theme options on typography tab.
The recent news widget can only be 3 or 4 column, but you can select to not show the thumbnail or excerpt. And the width of each column is going to change depending on what column shortcode you wrap it in. But the titles will go on one line as long as you give them enough room in the column width. But it can only be 3 or 4 column, so you would probably need to let it go the full width of the page to do what you want.
We can possibly modify the shortcode to allow for 2 and 1 columns in a future update.

How do i update the theme version im using now to the latest version?
Redownload it from themeforest on your downloads tab. It will be the new version which is v2.0.5
Then, please read the READ ME FIRST file that comes with the download of the update.
When updating, it’s best to do it via FTP: Go to “wp-content > themes” and backup your “Avada” theme folder by saving it to your computer.
Replace the current “Avada” theme folder in your “wp-content > themes” folder with the new version you get from the download.
Also, all plugins are new and are now fully integrated into the theme. Do not attempt to activate or use the old ones, you should remove them via FTP if you can. The new ones will be auto installed when you update
And be sure to check out our new documentation, it has been totally rewritten and now has more screenshots, details and videos. And sign up at our support forum for additional support. Read the FREE SUPPORT section of our documentation for info on creating your support account and using the forum.
In our next version of the theme, we are including an update plugin that will allow updates to happen via theme options, making it much easier for you guys. That new version will be released in a few days so if you want to wait for that you can.

The toggle items on my About Us page do not auto-close when another is opened. On the Avada sample website the toggle items only open one at a time (two don’t open at once).

That portion of code was updated and fixed to work that way, you must be using an older version of Avada. Download the latest version, v2.0.5 and install the new one.
Just be sure to read the READ ME FIRST file before you update, it has important info about updating depending on what version you are on.

How do I add alt tags to portfolio images?
Portfolio images use the skills, which are really the same thing. And you can modify the word “skills” to say anything you want so you can rename it to tags.
