Greetings! I have a mind-boggling question. I recently wrote an ebook and decided to build a webstore for sales purposes. My go-to strategy was the one-page template shop28, as I don’t have more items to sell at this point it’d be quite silly to build a full-blooded webstore for one item only.
However, I plan to write more books and perhaps engage with P2O (print-to-order) merch as well in the near future. This raises one profound question about your theme and the ready-made templates.
If I copy my current front page (www.iread.fi) as a stand-alone page (www.iread.fi/monetising-blog), does installing a new shop template (I like the shop1-soft look) erase the stand-alone page or its styles? I find the shop28 to be an excellent landing page, and it’d be nice to be able to use the layout with an actual shop. However, I don’t really like the idea of re-doing the entire landing page for my existing book, as the days it’s offline could kill the (presumed) sales.

Correct, by following the method you will achieve your desired result.

Yes before importing the new demo you have to remove the previous content, but there is a way, you can export your pages or terms from Wp-Dashboard >> Tools >> Export: https://pasteboard.co/aaZjQttUHuAF.png before removing the content from your site, and then remove the content from your site and after that import the new demo content, and then again import those pages from WP-Dashboard >> Tools >> Import.
Note: Please take a complete backup of your site before proceeding to avoid any inconvenience.

Hi there,
Can you let us know if there is a new issue with the WordPress / Porto Theme updates?
Pretty much every website that we manage which uses the Porto theme gets stuck when we try to update to the latest version.
We get to the demo installation section which I have no idea why we are going through that as the theme is already installed and setup.
We click onto CONTINUE and nothing happens, the button is thinking but it gets stuck in that position for ages and we need to refresh the page to abort the process.
This is all Porto Installations, do we know why?
it also states that we can skip that step but there is no button which allows us to skip the step.

After that please navigate to Appearance >> Themes and try to update the theme from there.

I have just tested it at my end with the latest Theme on my test site and it is working perfectly fine at my end.
Please make sure that you have set/selected the Site Layout Mode as “Boxed” from Porto >> Theme Options >> Layout and then set the Container Max Width (px) from Porto >> Theme Options >> Layout as per your requirements it will work for you.
It only works with and for the Boxed Layout.

Hello! I would love to ask – do I have to purchase Elementor PRO to use the Porto forms? On their pricing site, they are saying that I can not build forms with the free version of Elementor. Thanks!

No need to purchase the pro version of any plugin till you want to use the pro features of the plugin. Now, if the form you are trying to use is the pro feature then Yes you have to purchase the Pro plugin license separately.

All elements featured on our demo sites, which were created using the Elementor page builder, are included within the pre-packaged Elementor plugin that comes with the theme.

I used a porto theme for a while, but now I see that shop46 theme has been released. Can I still select it now or does the entire website have to be recreated?

You can import the sections of the Shop 46 on your site pages using Port Studio: https://www.portotheme.com/wordpress/porto/documentation/porto-studio/
And if you wan to import the complete demo, then you should try on a fresh new WordPress from the scratch.
