Hi Alan, glad to help you.
1. App: the question as a quite open answer but I’ll try to clarify. You can make an app based on your website, using a popular system called WebView.
WebView apps are like a sort of “masked” browser which opens your website. So you have an app icon opening a Chrome instance with your website.
It works perfectly, music can play in standby mode of the phone, and premium functions are working.
Another way of making apps is with native language and this requires API connection to a json rest api of your data, in both senses, reading and writing. This is MUCH much more complex and expensive and we don’t cover advanced API development (you may probably need to expose a lot of data which is normally hidden, and integrate a secure connection via api key between app and website).
2. Yes you can import podcasts via RSS using a plugin called SecondLine Podcast Importer. You need the pro version which is 20$. Our support can help with this.

Hi. Pre-sales question for you…. I am looking to update our current site with a better theme and yours is looking like a top contender. Just need to check about RSS distribution. Our current site uses Seriously Simple Podcasting to create an RSS feed that then distributes self hosted episodes to the various podcast platforms. The existing theme uses a “special post” type for each Podcast and the Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin integrates with each post. Would we be able to use the same system with this theme? How are the podcast episodes generated in your theme, a similar kind of special post? Thanks in advance.
hi! Yes, SSP is not the best lately since it seems to have some issues, but it works fine. Our theme uses the post type “podcast” which is a standard usually.
Another good plugin is PowerPress, which I find to work better.
Our theme also adds a custom taxonomy “Series” along with the default categories and tags, which are common both for regular blog posts and for podcast episodes.
The Series structure is very efficient and is based on “Series > Season”.
Any sub-term of a serie is automatically recognized as season, and allows seamless navigation by the visitors.
Great chances are that all of your episodes can be seamlessly recognized by our theme.

Thanks, that sounds ideal. Am I right in thinking that the integrated stats would include plays originating from podcast platforms and not just plays direct from the site? I know that Powerpress uses a diverted URL to be able to tag the link for stats, but if the URL omits the blubry part appended it should add the play to the themes stat counter?
The player stats are based on the play click of a certain podcast and this system is compatible with any external stats counter. We track literally how many times, the user clicks play (for at least 3 seconds) on a certain podcast episode.
OK. In terms of installing, I usually prefer to use the 1 click demo install route and then customise accordingly. If I did that using a WP staging install, whats the easiest way to import existing podcast episodes from the curent site before putting the staging site live? Or is there a better solution?
Yes the best is to make a staging installation, perhaps in a subfolder or subdomain of the main site (so with softaculous or WP Manager you can easily clone it to the final position).
Once the demo contents are installed, you can then export the episodes from the prev site to the new one. If your current website uses “podcast” as custom post type, they should be recognized already
If it used another post type, you may need to run a query in database to simply swap the post type in database. There are also plugins for that.
Our theme will use standard “enclosure” meta field to get the episode URL.
I’m pretty sure the current site uses “podcast” as custom post type. Presumably I’ll need a plugin to export the specific custom posts – any reccomendations?
Last question – how does the time stamping work? Do we manually specify timings of chapters/sections?

timestamp is manual, you just enter manually the list of titles and of time (hours:min:sec) and this automatically creates the list and playable cue links

You can embed any video in the pages, like YouTube, MP4 and similar.
Does the theme player support direct playing of tracks available on Soundcloud? I can’t find which external hosts are supported by the player. Maybe it will be great if you can list those external hosts.
Soundcloud tracks can be embedded but they can only play through the native player from Soundcloud, while the theme’s mp3 can only play mp3 tracks.
So the theme’s own player can’t play embedded files from Soundcloud or other external services? Or any work-around so that I can play Soundcloud’s tracks using the theme player?
The workaround is contact the SoundCloud CEO and ask to restore straight access to mp3 files to use external players but considering the investment they did in 2016 to prevent this, it’s unlikely to succeed, I’m sorry
I bought the theme and tried to used elementor to make a coming soon page. The widget just spins and nothing happens, I had to use a different plugin to make one. I submitted a ticket and have not heard back, nor can I see a record of my ticket. I’never never seen support that doesn’t have a login.

I ended up using CMP and spent way too many hours trying with different plugins. Anyways I need elementor to work so I can eventually make a about page. I have other themes with elementor working just fine. I also don’t want to post issues this way, I prefer using the ticket support.

I’m sorry that’s not possible, for your own protection. Website owners are legally responsible for the contents on their website. If you allow strangers post contents without supervision your website will be full of links to p*rn, vgra, wepons and other obscenities in a few days, and you will be legally responsible for that. So it’s not something we will never include as feature in our software…
You need to know who is allowed to create contents and manually enable him as author, to prevent real life issues with the website.
Yes I have done so but when I manually did as podcast author it shows options for user to upload but once they try it says they do not have permission to do so. So I tested all and only afmin allows you to upload podcast. Please assist if wecare doing something wrong.

3. What are the differences between the free and premium podcast page? - Premium is accessible to users defined by your chosen access level, might it be subscribers or paid members. Our manual covers how to manage premium podcasting in a dedicated section.
4. How can you add youtube videos of podcasts to the theme/page? Yes you can add youtube videos to podcasts, but to play in the main player they need also the mp3 version since this is an Audio podcasting theme. Videos can be added in the podcast text normally.

No since this is not a multipurpose theme, so our am is to offer functionality and not extreme flexibility, which would increase the software weight and make performance worst (more options = more code = slow website)

4. I’m still unclear where the youtube videos would appear. For example for every audio podcast I make I also have a youtube video of it as well. So where would that video load on the page? This is a more common thing with podcast these days so I wonder if you would consider updating the them to have a specific placement for a youtube video for every podcast episode page?

Okay I’m just trying to find a solution to the logo being covered by the search field it’s the only theme I’ve ever seen that puts a search field over the logo. I like the travel demo but need to change colours and background images I’m watching some of your tutorials to see if I can do that. Sure you can add a youtube video to a podcast content page by simply pasting the URL in the content of the podcast page, it will appear in the Transcript content tab.

You can create any “about” page with Elementor, there are no limitations… pictures, texts, galleries, videos, you can place anything you like in the page.

Thank you. I may have some more questions before I buy today or tomorrow. FYI I found a developer who showed me that they can easily move the search field under the logo and it looks so much better. Still don’t understand your thinking behind leaving it covering the logo.
because that’s the design concept of the theme. When you open the search that’s 100% of the focus, the one action you’re doing. Always think about the purpose. If somebody is searching on your website, you’re beyond the branding, you don’t need to market your site. People are already there and looking for something so your focus is giving the best service you can for what the user wants: searching.
If you’re at the restaurant and order a steak you want to see the steak, not the logo of the restaurant, you’re past that already.
That’s just a UX choice.
I don’t think you understand. It’s beyond a branding issue. You can’t even see what you’re typing in the field. Update, I just check in chrome it looks fine but in safari that’s where there is a problem, if you could see what I see you would understand my point. I think you may want to fix the issue in safari, the logo is still there and it gets in the way of anyone being able to see what they are typing in the field. Have a look.

I – my idea is to offer extracts from shows as free content and send this short content automatically to Itunes, Spotify, Deezer, Google Podcast etc and attract listeners to my site so that They listen to the rest of the full content by subscribing.

Since they implemented their podcast system, I also think it would be useful and necessary if you could offer a featured video system (instead of the featured image). Maybe suggest the "post_format video".Thank you.

Hi! 1) [ Itunes, Spotify, Deezer, Google Podcast] Yes those things were not added on purpose, since this theme has the exact opposite objective which is keeping people listening on the website. You can always add links manually or using Elementor

Our demo site was indexed from google and apple podcast while were working on the demo :/ You can use a plugin like PowerPress in order set up the required fields, test your podcast feed, and submit the feed to the portals.
3) Video: yes I understand but such implementation is totally out of budget for the project and out of the purpose of this theme… there are lots of good video podcasting themes out there which can do this better than we can. The number of requests until now was very small and doesn’t justify the endless work required to accomplish such implementation, so for the moment I don’t think it’s realistic to promise anything, but who knows…

Hi! 1. Yes, you can use mixcloud, it will play through the Mixcloud player though, not in the theme’s player, since Mixcloud dosn’t allow access to the mp3 files
2. The header can be modified via customizer, you can change logo, alignment, size, typography and buttons.

Hi, you can set a stream in the player by using the custom tracklist from the customizer. BTW this theme deosn’t add special radio functions as titles, radio shows or similar… for that type of use we have other themes which are more for radios.

Podcasts must be public and valid and have a public mp3 or aac file source (so NOT spotify). You can import podcasts only from VALID podcast rss feeds.
You can make a youtube podcast but it play in the youtube embedded player, NOT in the theme’s player, that’s for audio
