I’m trying to use the dashboard setting (Dashboard > Chat and Messages > Max. quantity of users to chat) to control how many people a user can message… But after setting it, the messaging limit doesn’t work, users are not restricted to the number I set there.
Also I noticed It says “Note: this feature is used only if no subscription plan is set”.. So I basically deactivated all subscriptions on the site and made Subscription free for both genders to know if this make it work but nope it still doesn’t work.
I’m just trying to have a limit to the number of messages users can send in 24hrs instead of unlimited.

Hi wconline360. You said ” the messaging limit doesn’t work”. But it is not clear how you tested it. Did you really try to send messages to users? I mean “really send messages”, not just open a chat window.
Try to open a chat window, type in your message and click the “Send button”. Then go to another user, open a chat window and send a message. After that, go to another user and try to send a message.
Only after really sending a message, the theme counts users whom you sent messages.
Regarding the number of messages, 24 hours. It must work properly. But I will check it. Thank you for your message.
Yeah, I actually sent messages to the multiple users not just opening the chat window, the messages were delivered and not counted
I want to know whether there’s another setting conflicting with it, I’ve checked everywhere but didn’t see anyone….please confirm if this is a general bug or there’s something I’m missing.
At the moment I’ve disabled messaging on my site till this is sorted… Cos I don’t want users sending unlimited messages but I really need to reactivate messaging.
One more thing. If you allow to contact 3 users per 1 day in a subscription plan, then this is how it works:
Today, a user can send unlimited messages to 3 users.
Tomorrow, he can send 3 more new users. The theme will not count those users whom a user contacted yesterday. Thus, number of users will be 6 = yesterday 3 + today 3 users.
After tomorrow, number of users will be 9. And so on.
So, this is not a bug. Because if a user has started a conversation with a user yesterday, you, the administrator, cannot stop this conversation today.
I totally understand what you are saying but the issue is that the setting isn’t working, after activating it, a user is still able to start a new conversation with unlimited number of people regardless of how many it is restricted to do.
For instance after setting it to 3 users for 24hrs, a users is still able to start conversation with 10+ new people who he hasn’t communicated with before.
Is there another setting that I have to make sure is turned OFF or ON to guarantee the chat restriction work. I mean is there a different setting other than the main setting (Dashboard > Chat and Messages > Max. quantity of users to chat) that I also need to modify to make the chat restriction work.
Should I send you my backend access so you’ll see what I’m talking about and know how I can proceed from here, please this is very crucial to the whole project, we are unable to move forward at the moment. Thanks

I checked your site. The chat limit works correctly! But you made subscription free for both women and men. It means that subscription has no effect for all profiles, all over the site.
You enabled free subscription here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Subscription -> Subscription is free for the following genders.
So, if subscription does not have effect, then this option has effect in the chat limit: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Chat and Messages -> Max. quantity of users to chat.
This option has the limit of 20 users. That’s why you wrongly expected that the chat will stop after 10 users.
Yes, I’m aware that subscription is free for both women and men on the site, which is why I want to use the option of limiting their chat from Dashboard -> Chat and Messages -> Max. quantity of users to chat.
But that option doesn’t actually limit the chat based on the number stated there,

The chat limit works correctly on our sites. But your site has some issues. It is up to you to solve them! Not us! We have nothing to do with them!
I checked your site again and again. I found out that your site (actually your server) uses aggressive delayed caching. What I mean:
For example: I uploaded a new DateBook plugin with new functions. But I see those functions start working only after some minutes. Not immediately!
That’s why the theme cannot work/write/count correctly the chat users in time. Therefore, the theme cannot correctly limit the chat.
Advice: deactivate the cache module on your hosting.
But I will try to find some solution later.

I’m trying to retrieve the WordPress user ID associated with a Datebook profile ID or profile page. So I can integrate a private messaging system using third party message plugin.
I have tried it always return user ID 1 which is admin on all user profile pages.
I’ve tried multiple methods to get the user ID, but none of them worked.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
1. Checked $post->post_author in PHP – This always returns 1 (the admin) instead of the correct user ID.
2. Looked for the user ID in post meta (get_post_meta) – No results were found in wp_postmeta.
3. Tried fetching it via get_query_var(‘author’) – Returns empty.
4. Extracted the profile ID from the URL – This gives me a Datebook profile ID like 1735782233-2, but I need to convert this into the actual WordPress user ID.
5. Searched the database (wp_postmeta, wp_users, and other tables) for the profile ID – No matching user IDs were found.
6. Checked wp_datebook_profile_views, wp_datebook_payments, and wp_datebook_member_subscriptions – These contain profile_id, but I couldn’t find a direct link to a user_id.

I want to use the second subscription option…..”Subscription + Registration” instead of the other way round Registration + Subscription, when I chose the “Subscription + Registration” option I noticed that users only get to pick a package without checkout and then register.
I was hoping users can pick a package, then checkout first before registration.
If that is not possible, then I want the first step they take after registration to be the Subscription, instead “Uploading photos”, “Updating profile” before going to Subscription phase.
Basically what I want to achieve is for users to complete registration and subscription before doing any other thing on the site, and I still want to Force redirect user to Photo page and Profile edit page after they’ve done the registered and done the subscription.
Please this is urgent.

1) I’m trying to understand how fake profiles work. On the creation page the first step is to select the gender, but if for example I select Male, the profiles that are created have the image (the gray silhouette) of a woman and vice versa. Since I activated the zodiac sign the tooltip clearly says the gender of the user which however does not correspond to the photo (if female is selected, profiles with a male photo are created and vice versa). I also have NON-Binary in addition to male and female. How can I solve this?
2) I also add that further down the demo creation page I read: “Type If selected, these elements will be assigned to random profiles.” This wording has no selection options unless it refers to the other options below which have their own dedicated selection

1) I just checked the creation of profiles on our demo site. It generates profiles Man and Woman correctly. I created 10 man profiles. They all display the male silhouettes. 10 woman profiles also display the female silhouettes. Here is our demo page showing different profiles generated by the theme. I do not know how to solve it, because I do not see any misfunction.
2) This field “Type” does not exist. That’s why there is no option. You can add types of profile here: WordPress -> Profiles -> Types.
3) I just checked the search for fake profiles. It works properly. For example: all fake profiles of Austria are found on the search page, on our demo site.
4) If you create fake profiles and genders do not match, you could manually correct genders. It means, you should go to each profile page -> then to the “Settings” page -> then select the gender and Save.
But before, you should enable this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Profile -> Allow edit Gender after registration.

You ask “What exactly is this function for?”. Ok. This function detects a real location of a user. For example: a user is from India but selects a country in his profile as Spain. What is this option “Local time provider” for? When a user visits your site, the time on your site by default will be displayed for your country and as you set here: WordPress -> Settings -> Timezone. But by help of this option “Local time provider”, a user will see the time relatively to his country.
No. The language of user’s browser does not matter. Your site will be displayed as you set it here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Languages -> Select default language.

Well. I checked your site and corrected the issues. Answers:
1) Featured panel was hidden because you set featured profiles to be displayed with images only, here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Featured -> Enable Featured status -> Show with images only. I have disabled this option. Now the featured profiles appeared on your site.
2) You create female profiles, but they wrongly have male icon, and vice versa. This happened because, Male was entered first, Female was entered after Male. But Female must be first. Here in this field: WordPress -> DateBook -> Custom Fields -> open the “Gender” field for editing -> Field Items
Parent and child themes have their own settings (different settings). If you enabled some option in the parent theme, then it does not mean that this option will be enabled in the child theme. You should enabled/disable options in both parent and child themes.
That’s why, when you activate the child theme, some options do not work.

You have to admit though that the gender issue (female first) is not easy and intuitive to understand and so we are forced to post in this support chat to figure out how to fix it. Same thing for the settings that I do NOT understand at this point how to behave.
You said that the latest update allowed the settings to be saved independently in the child theme and parent theme (both independent settings). Now you tell me that (correct me if I misunderstood) if I set something in the child theme the same thing must also be set in the parent theme. So at this point one affects the other?
I’m honestly afraid to save any setting in the parent theme because I don’t want to lose all the settings of the child theme. I kindly ask you to clarify this point.

Also, check this page “Classifieds” has a DateBook template here: WordPress -> Page -> click on “Quick edit” under the Classifieds page and check if “DateBook template” is selected.
Also, check what page was selected here: WordPress -> Settings -> Reading -> Posts page.

Hi. Perhaps, a javascript file was not loaded correctly or at all. The moderation panel (and all buttons) do work on jQuery and JavaScript files.
Perhaps, you use some caching plugin that incorrectly minifying js code. Try to deactivate it.

Hi I set up my subscription plans and activated top and featured section and also made the plan free for women. Now it’s not working the top and featured status and keeps giving disabled options in the profiles even though I set it up correctly. Hi. As I understand, you (administrator) are activating the subscription plan on a profile page manually. In this case, Top and Featured buttons on a subscription page of profile account will be disabled. Seo. I checked the custom title in Rank Math on a profile page, on our demo sites. it works. Try to do the following:
Enable these options: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> SEO -> Enable shortcodes in meta tags (check all options that includes the word Rank).
Enable this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> SEO -> Enable meta title on these pages
Use these shortcodes: datebook_profile_name datebook_profile_city

We want user to find matching profile on click of a button , when user click this button they will see list of profiles with highest percentage of matching .

Hello, please I have some issues which like talk about and ask some questions, I noticed that when a user register on my website the email link will sent to that person, but for him/her to open the link that’s where the error of too many redirect will come up please what is the solution, I have try to deactivate the plugins one after the other the error still persists until I deactivate datebook plugin, that’s when the website load. 2. What are the different between child theme and parent theme because I don’t install child theme before, but when I try to update the theme I only update with child theme and my registration and login page didn’t open again until I get back to previous version. 3. It’s possible for me to install the old version of child theme for me to be able to update new version. Thanks.
Hi. Regarding redirect. I have no idea what could go wrong on your site. Sorry. Try to delete the .htaccess file that is located in the root of your site.
After that, re-save permalinks here: WordPress -> Settings -> Permalinks.
Regarding child theme. You can add your own codes in the child theme (in these files “function.php” and “style.css”). In this folder: wp-content/themes/datebook-child.
Thus, you will not occasionally break functionality of the parent theme.
No, installing only the child theme will not update the theme at all. You should update the parent theme.

Hi. It looks like you wrongly selected pages here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Pages. Do the following:
1) Go here and delete all duplicate pages: WordPress -> Pages
2) Go here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Pages -> select pages in all relative fields. For example: select the “Profile – Edit” page in the field “Profile: Edit Profile page” and so on.
3) Deselect this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Pages -> Replace Homepage for logged in users.
4) Email do not send, because your server does not allow to send emails on simple way. Only SMTP is allowed. Solution: install the WP Mail SMTP plugin. It always helps.
