Yes, you can add a video background to that demo and set the row height to full screen. Mobile playback is supported as well. Salient includes a customized version of WPBakery as its page builder.

Hello, I love your theme, but I’m having a problem with the latest update.
Since updating a client’s website, some sections on the homepage are no longer displayed. I discovered that this is related to the entry animations. If I disable them, the sections reappear.
How can I fix this so I have an updated theme and also the animations on the page that I need? Is this a known JavaScript issue?

Hi,
We’re having an issue with your ‘WooCommerce Products’ element but also just the way the products are displaying in general site-wide. On iPhone the products have no padding when in a column of 2, so the product images are touching. In browser view when we scale down the page to emulate the phone screen it appears fine so this is only happening on the iPhone and possibly on other mobile devices too. Could you have a look into this for us please.

transparent header does not work on blog page?
Hey Lesliedigital, the transparent header effect will apply in blog archives/single templates when using a header type which has an image at the top behind the content. i.e. any “Blog Header Type” besides the Featured Media Under Heading.

Just a bit of feedback.
It’d be handy to have the ability to change the font size of the buttons. At the minute, they all tend to use a small font (14px?)
When you use large and jumbo the font size doesn’t seem to scale or adjust and it needs to be manually changed via CSS.
Having a font size field (That includes desktop/tablet/mobile like the responsive text element has) in the button element would be hugely helpful!
Also noticed that Google Insights flags Font-Awesome as a chained request – https://developer.chrome.com/docs/lighthouse/performance/critical-request-chains?utm_source=lighthouse&utm_medium=lr – Not sure if this can be sorted/improved
It’d be good to have the option to use Font-display:Swap on Font Awesome too, if possible?

1. Thanks for the request! The “Call to Action” element ended up becoming the dominant replacement for the button, and it does support font sizing. I’ve made a note to potentially bring that to the button element as well.
2. Is swap was used for icon font libraries, it would present empty squares before the font loaded, which would not be ideal.

I previously mentioned about background images on rows/columns not having the fetchpriority /preload option. This is now been flagged in PageSpeed insights as an ‘issue’. We need the ability to add fetchpriority=high or the preload equivalent to images that appear above the fold (LCP) on rows and columns, are we any closer to getting that option added?

In the last update, we’ve added an option into the Image element for “Fit to Container”, which could be used in combination with absolute positioning (top, right, bottom, left all at 0) to fill a column or row as the background. We’re also still considering making it a selectable option for the BG layer within those elements as well.

I’m talking about fetchpriority/preload for background images that are above the fold?
I’m referring to a method that bypasses background images in favor of standard image elements, which would natively have a high fetch priority and be preferred for performance scoring. We’re still considering a change to improve background image loading without requiring a custom snippet.

Salient only supports standard font weights and doesn’t provide a UI for variable font variation settings. If you wish to load a variable font, it would need to be done through a custom font.

Looks like chromium browsers are blocking autoplay or something. Firefox works fine though. Can you provide a a quick fix?

I’ve checked that everything is ok, have both the WebM and Mp4 files up, but no go. On the backend the mobile version shows just fine, but when I actually check it on my mobile, it doesnt show. I’ve checked your page on a couple of mobile devices and can see the video playing back normally. Have you made sure that your mobile device isn’t in low power mode? If it is, video autoplay will be blocked. If that’s not the case, please let me know which mobile device you’re testing on.

If you’re referring to the header navigation not having enough space to display on smaller desktop screens, you can increase the Header Mobile Breakpoint in Salient Options > Header Navigation > Mobile Header tab. If you’re instead referring to something else, please share a screenshot of what you’re trying to fix.

When using the ‘Delay JS Execution’ option under General Settings > Performance, top-level animations are automatically disabled on mobile to improve PageSpeed scoring. If you’d like to enable those animations, you can disable this theme option.

Hey, I’ve been using salient theme for over 6 years and unsure why there is no specific select box for columns width in Responsive settings for inner for tablets. It always adds me a lot more works than it should’ve.
The issues are that very often the Tablet Column Width Inherits From doesn’t fit either mobile or small desktop width and requires it’s own column structure specific for that size.
Could you kindly consider having another dropdown like all of the other screen widths? So I could select a specific size for each screen width, and not have to rely on inheritance from any other screen width, as that is just unneeded and unfriendly way to do the same, but additionally limiting the options and seems kinda odd to just have it for one specific thing to be done totally different.
Unless I am really stupid and there is some way to do it without making my custom css all the time.

WPBakery automatically scrolls to highlight the active element being edited. In the next plugin release, this behavior will be optional and can be disabled in the WPBakery settings.
