Hi
On your latest “Layered” pre-built website demo, when you hover over a project, a bubble pops up alongside the finger cursor which says “view”.

This does not show in my portfolio by default, but I would like to add it as I have a problem with users not clicking on my individual projects. I can only assume they don’t realize they can.

You’ll need to utilize the newer Post Loop Builder instead of the Portfolio element in order to access that option. The option is called “Add Link Mouse Indicator”.

Hey tricks28, I’m glad you’re enjoying the new layout effects! You can also use the Sticky Content Sections element set to ‘Scroll Pinned Sections’ to achieve a similar flow outside of the Post Loop Builder.

Hey guys, I have this odd situation where the Custom CSS Code, where nothing I add there seems to work, even when using Force Dynamic CSS to Inline In Head. The same code added to the Apprearance > Customising > Additional CSS does work. Never seen this before with Salient. Theme versions up to date FYI. Any ideas as to what is happening?

Hi, could you please help us out with header image scaling? We noticed that our hi-res header images on a page become very blurry and pixelated when looking on mobile. The original image is large and works great on desktop, but on mobile it looks like it gets scaled via javascript?

Hi! I’ve been using your theme for several years now and just decided to rebuild one of my sites. I installed the theme again, but I’m getting a white line on the right side of the screen on mobile. I’m using an iPhone 16 Pro Max with Safari.

I can’t seem to replicate that on my end yet. Have you confirmed that it’s only occurring on your website and not a global issue with your device by checking other websites that use a dark background?

You can configure the mobile menu style in the Salient options panel > Header navigation > Off Canvas Menu tab.
The coloring of the menu can also be configured in the Header Navigation > Color Scheme tab.

Hey einikolov, that plugin should work. However, you may need to select the “Default WooCommerce Gallery” in the Salient options > WooCommerce > Single Product Gallery Type tab.

Column links – WPBakery: Don’t work with the newly added global sections to the mega menu option. No matter what column links have been added on the inner column in global sections, it doesn’t work once added to a menu item as a Mega Menu Global Section.

hello. i have bought many many times your theme. the plugin wp bakery is not updaets autoamtically. why? how i can fix it? WPBakery version 7.8 had the vulnerability “Local File Inclusion” which is super serious, i just cant have any more websites that are not all the websites fully updated automatically all the times. recently 5 of my websites were hacked and this might be the case, even if it is not, its not enough to manually update plugins, i need a way to auto update them

The Salient version of WPBakery is not the same as the core plugin, and updates for it are only provided alongside theme updates. We’ve been holding off on including the latest version of WPBakery until the developers fix the known issues with version 8.4.x, as covered in their comments section.

Plugins bundled with the theme don’t include automatic update functionality on their own. You’ll receive updates for all Salient plugins whenever Salient is updated – provided the new theme version includes plugin updates. To receive Salient updates directly within your WordPress dashboard, you can install the Envato Market plugin: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/
Whenever a security issue is found in one of our products, we promptly release an updated version to address it. It sounds like you were referring to version 7.7 of WPBakery in your original comment. That issue was patched in version 7.8, which was released in August 2024. As long as the Envato Market plugin is set up, theme updates, and consequently plugin updates, will always appear in your dashboard.

I’m trying to replace the Salient crown logo in the restaurant demo theme. I replaced the logo in Salient->>Custom Branding->>Theme Logo but it still shows the demo “crown” logo. Cleared the cache of the caching plugin – Object Cache Pro, and even disabled it, purged the cache in the Breeze cache plugin, and cleared browser history/cache, still no results. Can you please help!

If you’re referring to the Salient logo in the front-end header navigation bar, you can replace it in the Salient Options Panel under Header Navigation > Transparent Header Effect and Logo & General Styling.

One annoying aspect of the salient theme is that it explicitly sets the font family in the .bold, b, strong rule, so if you want to use bold on any font besides your default font, you have to do css gymnastics to stop it from converting back to the default font. Please change this in a future version to only make the font weight be affected by strong tags, rather than also affecting the font family. (this is set in /css/build/style.css) and applies even if i have no font selected in the bold section of salients typography settings.
As a workout around i’ve just set .bold, b, strong{font-family:inherit;} in my child theme’s style.css file.

The strong/bold base rule in the style.css file should already exclude the font family. Can you confirm that you’re using a recent release of Salient?

Hey eladarale, You can remove that by toggling the option “Display Dates on Projects” in the Salient options > Portfolio tab. Hey! Is there any easy way on mobile to get the items that are in columns of a mega-menu, to be completely expanded when you click the main drop down.
What I mean is:
Menu Item A (mega menu) -Column 1 —Item 1 —Item 2 —Item 3 -Column 2 —Item 4 —Item 5
I want the columns on desktop, but when we are on mobile the mobile menu gives me “Column 1, Column 2” as options which I then need to click to expand. It would be good if I could have all of the submenu items always expanded… so clicking ‘Menu Item A’ would show me Item 1-6 immediately. I assume the js of the menu is just adding CSS to hide the items until they are expanded? I couldn’t work out which ones to target to try and override them.
I’m using Simple Dropdown menu option on Mobile.

Font awesome should already include Apply Pay as an option. I’ve noted to add Google pay in the next minor release. For now, you would need to include it manually via an image or CSS modification.
