Hey atwatwx, thanks for the kind words!

You can enable the WPBakery Page Builder for the Global Sections post type (salient_g_sections) in WPBakery Settings > Role Manager.

Hey! I had a custom CSS contained nav bar. I just updated to V18 and saw that contain nav is built in, so I tried it out and my nav bar looks horrible now. Are you able to help with that? https://andrewklotz.ca/

Hey A_K,

Feel free to reach out via the contact form on my author page in regards so I can follow up. Also, please temporarily turn off your CSS optimization in any performance plugins, such as W3 Cache.

Cheers

Hi, I always have issues getting the Post Loop Builder to show pages. e.g. On a parent page called Services, show the featured image, title & excerpt of the services subpages. For narrow data source I only seem to be able to select tags (only have them on posts) or custom taxonomy (these are standard pages). In the end I use the Guttenberg options. I’ve tried a few of the other grid query options, but never seem to be able to show child pages on a parent page. Or even manually select the pages I’d like to show the image & title for. https://ibb.co/LXtf7LHG Keep up the great work! Andrew

Hey Andrew!

The Post Loop Builder has more limited functionality when querying pages rather than posts — this is due to a limitation of the native WPBakery query selector that we extend. However, I’ve noted the idea so we can explore expanding this on our end.

Hi! First of all, the latest update is just wonderful – lots of new great features. Thank you for that. I did notice a bug though – raw html element doesn’t automatically save when closed, nothing changes and the placeholder code keeps sitting in it. Can you please look into it? Thanks, G

Hey govasi, I’m glad that you’re enjoying it!

So far, I haven’t been able to reproduce any saving issues with the raw HTML element. Can you confirm whether you have the auto-save option enabled in the WPBakery settings? Have you tried it with auto-save both on and off?

Kind regards

Hello and congratulations on the new release. Unfortunately, the background color change doesn’t work for me. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Thanks for sharing the page, albertoguccione. Only a section designated as a Color Change Section will trigger the change – there is no automatic reversion to a default color past a certain point. In your case, assuming you want the rows above and below it to return to the light background, you’ll need to set the desired background on both of those rows and enable the Color Change Section for them as well.

Thank you, thank you very much. Salient is a truly valuable theme. Alberto

I’m glad I could help, Alberto :)

Cheers

Hello,

First of all, congratulations on v18! Such interesting features! Can’t wait to try them out.

However, I have a question regarding the triggering of the Lotties.

I have a section with multiple tabs: “Data provider – Data aggregation, Portfolio management – Risk & Compliance.”

I’ve added one Lottie per tab set to “play when visible.” My issue is that they all play as soon as I arrive at this section, and when I switch tabs, the animation has already been played.

How can I fix this?

Since there’s no known issue where the offset causes a Lottie animation to fail, could you share the Lottie JSON URL? Also, have you tried swapping in other Lottie files to confirm whether the same issue occurs?

Thanks for sharing, MAJMonaco.

I believe it’s related to the current logic with Lottie files that have a very large frame range, such as that. I’ll be reviewing the logic for the upcoming minor release.

Version 18 is amazing! Love the Harbor and Signal demos. Absolutely killed it.

One thing, what font is used at the top of the Signal demo (in black against the orange background). Is that actually Helvetica you’re rocking, or is it a Google font?

Thanks a lot, portpass1974!

It’s a font from Google – Zolando Sans :)

Cheers

Thanks so much. Salient is the best.

Looking forward to working with v18 – it looks great. Will it solve the following accessibility issue that I’m finding on v17.4.1?

My client wants all buttons on the site to say Read More, which is fine, but not very accessible for screen readers. However, the Salient button control has a field for “Link Text” and a separate field for “Aria Label Text”. The latter says it’s “Optional text to describe the link that will be used for screen reader accessibility.”

Great – so I can set button text to say Read More, and Aria Label Text to give a longer description with context for screen readers.

Except that’s not what happens. The Aria Label Text isn’t rendered in the HTML. At all. Why is that?

...as an aside, I’m also using Text Reveal Wave buttons, and the control for that button type also has an Aria Label Text field. Again, set that to something more descriptive and it’s completely ignored. The HTML that’s rendered does render aria-label text this time – but it’s not the text that you type into the “Aria Label Text” field in the button control. It’s just aria-label=”Read more”

Hey stu12k,

We’ve added the fix for that into v18.0.1, which is available now :)

Cheers

Hey,I have a problem after updating. A white bar appears under the menu. I am sending a link to a screenshot. https://we.tl/t-R5riaVDqnM

Hey kamil_grk,

The space around the header navigation when using the Contained layout should match the background color you have set in the Salient options > general Settings > Styling tab for the “Primary Background Color” field. If that’s not set as a white as shown shown in your attachment, please share the actual page URL so I can take a look.

Hi team, just a quick one:

How can i set the colour of my blog text in the Post Loop Builder? I can only set to light and dark, but the “dark” option isn’t setting the colour to my global text colour. Could you please advise how to change it? It’s not only the title, I want to change the colour of the categories and meta as well.

(Perhaps a suggestion for these options for your next update)

Thank you!

Hey FCVOB,

I actually managed to squeeze that option into today’s release :)

Amazing! Thank you. Will I find it in the post loop builder?

That’s correct, FCVOB. In the Post Loop Builder element settings > Item Style tab.

also, on the new vision demo how do you get the text scrolling in the red at top? thanks again!

Hey brianfreeman!

That’s added through a Global Section in the new location called “In Navigation Top Before Scrolling”.

Cheers

hi on new update my black background doesn’t always load right away and also the top text. only when I slightly scroll does the color change and the top wording. https://sfguide.co I’ve cleared caches on cloud flare and disabled cache plugin

Hey brianfreeman,

It looks like the CSS is being delayed by Hummingbird. Are you sure you’ve disabled it on your end?

Hi! Just wanna help. V18 bug report + simple feature proposition 1) Icon element forces accent color (custom color for icon and hover color are overwritten with !important of the accent color even when it’s set to custom color in Icon element settings) 2) In Salient options in Accent Colors there should be a way to create new accent colors (many) that appear then on that list in many elements to pick from. Thanks!

Hey po1nt!

Thanks for reporting that – it’ll be corrected tomorrow! I appreciate the request as well. Currently, you can add additional colors through a filter in your child theme, but a UI would be easier :)

Kind regards

Hi,

Quick question about the new updates, specifically these features:

1. Dynamic Background Colors 2. Content Trail Cursor Effects 3. Chat conversation feature 4. Sticky Scrolling Effects

How are these impacting the performance? Are they using heavy CSS and JS?

Thanks

Hey toolbox101,

All of the interactive features we create are conditionally loaded — meaning their CSS and JS only run when needed. They’re also custom-built to stay lightweight and avoid heavy third-party libraries, so the overall performance impact is minimal.

Kind regards

Hey woolun!

That’s not a prebuilt website demo, but rather a new template in the Salient studio template library.

Hello, Seems you have had a major update and it has affected our website and not in a good way. We don’t know how to fix the things that have been changed for starters our footers, our fonts, our button colors to name a few. So who do we get ahold of to get this fixed and back to the way it is supposed to be? Thank You in advance.

We paid for support and where helped over there – Thank You.

Hey 4Peabody,

Thanks for opening a ticket earlier. For anyone else who may run into a similar issue with missing theme option styles: the main issue was that the WordPress Site/Address URL didn’t match the site protocol (HTTPS). This can be resolved by ensuring the correct protocol is entered in WP Admin under Settings → General.

Hi Support Team,

I need assistance with an issue on my website https://aidear.com.my/ , which is currently using Salient Theme version 18.0.

When I go to WP-Admin → Appearance → Menus → Add Menu Items, no items appear under Pages, Posts, Products, or Product Categories. All sections are empty, and I am unable to add anything to the menu.

Here is a screenshot of the issue: https://ibb.co.com/9krkq52D

Could you please help check what might be causing this and advise what steps I should take so that the menu items become visible again?

Hey shaky512, I haven’t been able to replicate this. If you’ve confirmed that the issue still occurs after deactivating all of your other third-party plugins, feel free to please reach out via the contact form on my author page in regards.

Thanks in advance

ccccccccccccccccccccccrazy! What an update! Thanks! We can feel the influence of your other project… and it’s all good!

However, I retired from web development two months ago. I won’t be actively involved in the community anymore. I will, however, follow the development of this fantastic WordPress theme. Thank you for everything!

Hey Louis!, thanks so much for the kind words!

Wishing you all the best in your new chapter :)

Thank you mate! Was a honnor to work with you and your team. Keep up your good work.

Hello Team hope this finds you well Excellent design. Ks it possible to add widgets to mobile menu?

Hey Walizen, thanks a lot!

In the Appearance > Widgets section of the WP admin, there should be an “Off Canvas Menu” location which you can use for that.
